As February arrives, I hope everyone is thawing out from the winter storm and frigid temperatures that we experienced this past week On the milder weather days, we have some brave Members who have been getting out to play golf and pickleball. To our Members who go south in the winter, I trust you are enjoying the warmer weather.
Although many of our Members are away from the Club in the winter months, rest assured there is a lot going on at RBCC. We had our first RBCC version of Hell’s Kitchen with Chef Andrew and Chef Quinn going head-to-head in an all-out battle of “Old School” vs “Gen Z” Thank you to Chef Carolyn and the entire food and beverage team for a fun night featuring two fabulous menus! Congrats to Chef Quinn on his win! I see a grudge match already in the works! It’s good to see that Member nights, fitness classes, fireside dining and special events continue to bring Members out even on the coldest of days.
The Board and Committees, along with the Leadership team, are busy in these winter months getting ready for the upcoming season. The teams have put an extraordinary amount of time into building the Operating Budget and finalizing the Capital Projects and Budget for the next fiscal year The operating committees have been reviewing guest policies across all our amenities and updating them to ensure the best possible experience for Members. Work has begun with GGA Partners on the next iteration of the Club’s Strategic Plan and Facilities Master Plan Planning is also
underway for the many events that are scheduled for the upcoming season. You should have received the 2026 Calendar of Events which included all club events, fitness classes, racquets events, tournaments and youth activities for the year. The Sports and Recreation and Social Event Guides will be sent in March with additional information regarding these events
We will be welcoming our new Racquets Director – Emma Cioffi – in the middle of March. Some of our Members on the east coast of Florida will have a chance to meet Emma at RBCC’s tennis events in Delray I encourage you to read her profile on page 5 With Emma’s experience, passion and enthusiasm for racquet sports she will be a terrific addition to The Talon Tribe.
I hope you have had a chance to read the important communication sent out on January 17 about the Future of the Golf Course. If you haven’t, I encourage you to read it and be on the lookout for the next newsletter on February 21 As part of our communication efforts, we have established a page on the Club’s website with all the information and updates on the golf course. You can access that page by clicking here or visiting the Member’s Website or ForeTees app If you know any Members who have questions or want to learn more about the golf course, please direct them to the website.

Club’s Bylaws to insure that we put the best possible governance in place for RBCC now and into the future. The revised Bylaws are based on recommended guidelines in the National Club Association Club Governance Manual. The committee worked closely with attorney Robyn Stowell from Spencer Fane as well as Mike Teichman, our Delaware-based attorney I appreciate the time Members took to submit questions during the feedback period about the Bylaw documents we shared. The Board unanimously approved the revised Bylaws at the January Board meeting I would like to thank the Members of the ad hoc committee for dedicating so much time to this important initiative: Buck Booth, Dan Coar, Sharon Covington, Nancy Freebery, Dan Krausz, Mike Stakias, C Cherches and Bethany Williams
Over the past two years we’ve had an ad hoc committee engaging in extensive and thoughtful discussions about the
With the days getting longer here in Rehoboth, I am hoping we will soon feel the weather start to get warmer!Just think, spring is less than 50 days away!

This winter tried it’s very best to outdo itself. January delivered temperatures more fitting for Greenland, without so much as asking our permission. And yet, in the middle of all that bone-chilling cold, RBCC felt anything but frigid.
The warmth we all crave came straight from you—our Members—who showed up, bundled up, and supported your Club by participating in January’s events. From unforgettable culinary experiences to genuinely joyful evenings, the energy in the Clubhouse was palpable. These events weren’t just fun for Members; they were energizing for the Talon Tribe as well, reminding us why we love what we do, even when the wind chill says otherwise. As February unfolds, the warmth we’ve felt all winter takes on a more romantic glow. Valentine’s Day invites us to celebrate love in all its forms—the quiet kind, the lifelong kind, and the kind found in shared laughter over a beautifully set table. At RBCC, these moments matter. They’re found in familiar faces, lingering conversations, and the simple joy of being together in a place that feels both special and deeply familiar. In a season defined by cold and ice, love has a way of reminding us that warmth is never far away.
Out on the golf course, however, winter has been far less cooperative. Important drainage work continues as we work to bury pipes and connect ponds, but progress has been anything but smooth. Frozen, rockhard soil forced pauses, and much of the course remains sealed under an unprecedented sheet of ice after the last storm. It’s not glamorous work—and it’s certainly not easy—but it’s essential, and it will pay dividends once Mother Nature loosens her grip, and Alan and his crew resume the work.
While outdoor work is limited, things are far from quiet around the Club. Smaller projects are moving forward throughout our facilities, and planning is well underway with both local and national vendors to expand and enhance our offerings. On the horizon: plans to expand the pool deck to better accommodate those lively summer crowds, the addition of a three-season outdoor bar, and several other muchneeded upgrades. Some may arrive this season, others shortly thereafter—but all are part of our commitment to continuously improving the member experience.
Racquet sports are also front and center as we prepare for the season. We’re exploring resurfacing the pickleball courts alongside the reconditioning of the tennis courts, all while getting ready to welcome Emma Cioffi, our new Racquets Director. We’re thrilled to have her join RBCC and can’t wait to see her in action. At the same time, we’re equally excited to see our beloved Terri Gaskill enjoying her well-earned Honorary Membership—hopefully both on and off the courts. Who knows… we may even convince her that we really do have a beautiful pool.
1 seasonal staff. The competition is fierce, especially in the restaurant world, where Floridians are a highly sought-after commodity. In many ways, the ball is in their court—they’re interviewing us just as much as we are interviewing them. Fingers crossed that RBCC remains at the top of the list as a place to work, grow professionally, and have fun doing it.
As this month’s newsletter reflects, a lot is happening across the board—from operational fine-tuning to governance improvements. For me, the most exciting project (though they’re all important) is the ongoing update of our Strategic Plan, in collaboration with GGA. Interestingly—or perhaps not coincidentally—our neighbors down the road are on a similar journey. The private club industry as a whole is being challenged to truly plan for a post-COVID world, where relevance and appeal are no longer automatic but must be earned.
There’s much more to come, so please stay tuned for updates in the weeks ahead. And for now, please stay warm—we’re bracing for more brutal cold and unforgiving winds as the entire Eastern Seaboard collectively takes a massive, metaphorical Polar Bear Plunge.
Spring will come. Thank you for being the warmth that keeps RBCC thriving—and for reminding us that even in the coldest months, this Club is built on connection, community, Spring will come. Thank you for being the warmth that keeps RBCC thriving —and for reminding us that even in the coldest months, this Club is built on connection, community, and a whole lot of (Valentine’s) heart.
Behind the scenes, it’s also peak interview season as we search for the best H-2B and J-

A seamless event may look effortless, but behind every perfectly timed toast and beautifully plated dish is a thoughtful, detailed process. From the first conversation to the final farewell, the Tribe works closely with you to turn your vision into a memorable experience. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how we help create a perfect event
1.The Initial Call (or email): Turning Ideas into a Plan
Whether you reach out by phone or email, every event starts with a conversation. “The initial call” is where we get to know your goals, your vision. Whether you’re planning a corporate event, an intimate celebration or a milestone moment, we listen first. During this conversation, we cover the essentials - date, guest count, type of the event, what kind of atmosphere you are hoping for, etc.
2.Menu Planning: Crafting the Perfect Culinary Experience
Once the initial details are set, it’s time to have some fun, talking food, a favorite part of the event planning! While our catering packages are available to you, often they are a helpful guide for the menu planning. Whether you’re envisioning an elegant plated dinner, interactive stations, or a relaxed buffet, our Events and Culinary teams work to design a menu that feels intentional and memorable. We help guide you through options, make recommendations based on your event flow, and fine-tune details while considering dietary preferences, cultural influences, seasonality and presentation.
3.Room Setup: Designing the Space
Room setup is where the event truly starts to take shape visually. The Events team carefully plans the layout to balance aesthetics, comfort, and functionality. We consider guest flow, seating arrangements, and décor elements to make sure the space supports your event’s purpose. A corporate presentation requires a different setup than a wedding reception or social celebration, so every detail from table placement to napkin color plays a role.
4.Day-Of Execution: Bringing It All Together
Event day is where preparation meets performance. Behind the scenes, our team arrives early to set the space exactly as planned and double-check every detail. We coordinate closely with the culinary staff and any outside vendors to ensure everything runs smoothly. Throughout the event, the Events Team manages the flow—timing courses, adjusting room elements as needed, and quietly handling any last-minute changes. Our goal is for you to be fully present, enjoying your guests and the moment, while we take care of the rest.
A perfect event is the result of clear communication, thoughtful planning, creative collaboration, and experienced execution. From the initial call to day-of coordination, we make the process as enjoyable as the event itself. When it’s all said and done, what guests remember is how the event made them feel. Behind the scenes, we’re proud to know exactly how that feeling came together.

Recently, the Professional staff returned from the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, one of the largest and most influential gatherings in the golf industry. While there, the team participated in multiple educational seminars covering topics such as best practices, retail trends, technology, and member engagement In addition, more than 18 vendor meetings took place, giving us the chance to explore new products, equipment, and services that may enhance both the golf shop and the overall member experience in the coming seasons.
During the PGA Show, we are planning and buying for Fall. We had scheduled meetings with Johnnie-O, Greyson, Varley, Lilly Pulitzer, Turtleson, Ashworth, Saint Croix, SanSoleil, and Moorlow. Each company brought a distinct point of view across performance golf, lifestyle, and resort-inspired apparel. Together, these conversations highlighted current trends toward versatile, fashion-forward collections that balance on-course performance with off-course wearability.
For the 2026 Spring/Summer season, we have already finalized purchases for the pro shop that reflect a balanced mix of proven performers and fresh additions. Our current buy includes a new brand, Travis Mathew, alongside trusted favorites we have carried in the past such as: Melly M, Belyn Key, Holderness & Bourne, Peter Millar, G/FORE Summit Golf Brands (Fairway & Greene, Zero Restriction, B-Draddy), RLX, Levelwear, RNWK, and IBKUL.
We hope everyone enjoys the upcoming seasons offerings Over the course of the Spring, we will be rolling out a few merchandising educational meetings to discuss the RBCC Golf Shop merchandise program as well as hearing from the members on offerings they would like to see in the future We will also be sharing our “goal” for the merchandise operation this upcoming season. With the help of our membership, we are hopeful to work together to achieve fantastic new heights within the merchandise operations at the club Additionally, you will also soon see a corporate purchasing program that we are launching. We are hopeful that we can work with many of you who may need to purchase bulk orders for events, parties, or even uniforms.

Following the show, the team also traveled south to tour another private club, where we were able to observe different operational approaches, practice facility setups, and member programs. These visits are always valuable, offering fresh perspectives and new ideas that we can adapt to continuing improving our own operation.
As we move closer to the start of the 2026 season one fast approaching event is the AJGA All-Star event in April. You should have recently received an email detailing the event and volunteer opportunities. We highly recommend considering volunteering for this event There are some great players from all over the country participating between the ages of 1215.
One new event this season will be our “Play with a Pro Series”. As your golf professionals, we would like the opportunity to get to know you all better outside of the golf shop and on the golf course. Through the tournament directory you will have the opportunity to sign up with the pros on pre-planned dates. We ask that you find three additional people to register with. You can sign up with each professional one time and can have a different team with each professional. Each professional will play three rounds throughout the season. The format will be 2 better balls of 4 with gross and net winners. The team with the low score at the end of the series will be the winner. We hope this provides a fun avenue for anyone interested in getting to play or know the professional staff better on the golf course!

Due to the winter storm in January, the Club and Rehoboth Beach area received 5 inches of snowfall.
