Start-up co-founder Taylah McCullough says studying business and IT at QUT has launched her dream career. “Technology is universal. My degree has opened the opportunity to work in any country and any sector I choose.”
During her double degree, Taylah found there were opportunities galore to develop her skills:
• Through a collab between QUT and tech company Cisco, Taylah co-founded digital health startup Forage Insights, winning a $20,000 grant.
• While at QUT, Taylah’s student team won top spot in the Copenhagen Business School Global Case Competition with an AI-powered digital strategy.
• In 2024, Taylah was named Women in Digital’s Rising Star of the Year. Taylah’s big takeaway? Tech’s not just about coding – it’s about solving problems that help people. “Once you understand that, the technical skills will follow.”

“Ultimately, the impact I’d like to have on the tech industry, and on society as a whole, is one that improves people’s lives and strengthens human connection,” they say. “I also hope to contribute to the representation of women and LGBTQ+ people throughout the industry.”
