M
alcolm-Jamal Warner was born on August 18th, 1970 New Jersey. He was named after Malcolm X and jazz pianist Ahmad Jamal. At the young age nine he decided he wanted to be an actor, and he began going to acting schools in LA and NY, ultimately graduating from The Professional Children’s School in NYC. After a few small roles on Matt Houston, Fame and Call to Glory, he had his big break and landed his most recognizable role as Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show which ran for eight years. After that he had many roles in various shows and movies including, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Touched by an Angel, Drop Zone, and Tyson. He also went on to star and co-star in several series and films including; Here and Now, Malcolm and Eddie, Reed Between the Lines and Jeremiah. Malcolm was also a huge supporter of child literacy and he voiced the Producer character on The Magic School Bus and hosted the literacy-promoting children’s show CBS Storybreak for two years. He was also a Grammy Award Winning singer and Grammy Nominated Poet. He won a Grammy 4
in 2015 for Best Traditional R&B Performance for his contribution to the cover of Stevie Wonder’s "Jesus Children." And in 2022 his spoken word poetry album “Hiding in Plain View” was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Poetry Album. Malcolm-Jamal Warner was known as a kind and warm person by everyone that ever met or worked with him. He tragically lost his life on July 20th, 2025 while vacationing with his family in Limon, Costa Rica. He was swimming with his 8 year old daughter when they both got caught in a rip current. Surfer’s spotted the pair in distress and rushed to their rescue. Warner’s young daughter was pulled up on a surfboard and brought to safety, however by the time the surfers and lifeguards got to Malcolm it was already too late and he had sadly been under for too long. Malcolm-Jamal Warner, you died far too young and with far too much give in your family and your career. You will be missed dearly but remembered fondly by your family, friends, co-stars and fans. May you rest in peace. By Michael Devine u

OZZY OSBOURNE Liverpool soccer player, and his brother died in a car crash in northwestern Spain
J
ohn Michael “Ozzy” Osbourne was born on December 3rd, 1948 in Marston Green, Warwickshire. He was best known as the iconic front man of the mega rock group Black Sabbath. Black Sabbath was created as a result of multiple other bands breaking up. Originally in 1967 Geezer Butler formed a band Rare Breed where he recruited Ozzy to be his singer. That band broke up after only two shows, and then shortly after Ozzy and Geezer got together and co–created Polka Tulk Blues which included the drummer and guitarist Bill Ward and Tony Iommi whose band Mythology had just broken up. And they soon changed the name of the band to Earth, but after a mistaken booking due to a similarly named band they came up with the name Black Sabbath which was based off of their favorite horror movie of the same name. After a few shows playing with a darker tone to fit the name, they found that audiences really liked the scary horror antics and sounds and doubled down on this declaring Ozzy as “The Prince of Darkness.” The rest is history. Osbourne’s early life wasn’t great. He was abused by school bullies, neglected by his family and did a short stint in jail for theft, because his father refused to pay bail to “teach him a lesson.” Well shortly after this he found himself in Black Sabbath. Their first song was based off a dream that Butler had after reading an occult book, so after telling Ozzy of his experience they wrote Black Sabbath in a very dark and evil tone and it was immediately a commercial success as was the whole album of the same name. They were signed with Warner Bros. Records in the U.S. The next album Paranoid was another instant success and then the third album Master of Reality really took off and became top 10 in both the U.S. and U.K. charts and reached gold status in less than two months and eventually rose to Platinum status
8
over the next decade and later Double Platinum. Interestingly critics hated it and Rolling Stone Magazine called it simple and repetitive, but later in 2003 after seeing the meteoric success called it one of the top 500 greatest albums ever created. The next two albums Black Sabbath Vol. 4 and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath also went platinum, making it five albums in a row. And Sabbath Bloody Sabbath became one of the most critically acclaimed albums of all time. In addition to some of the biggest albums
RED INK MAGAZINE
of all time some of the biggest songs of all time were produced by Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne, Including Crazy Train, Iron Man, I Don’t Want to Change the World, Mama, I’m Coming Home, Bark at the Moon, Paranoid, Hellraiser, Blizzard of Ozz and many others. And there are quite a few accolades aside from all the Platinum Records… Ozzy Osbourne won six Grammy’s, has been inducted into both the US and UK Rock and Roll Hall of Fames, both as a solo artist and in Black Sabbath. He has a star on the Holly wood walk of fame and a bronze star on the Birmingham Walk of Stars. In 2008 he was crowned with the prestigious Living Legend award in the Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards. And there are dozens of other awards and accolades on both sides of the pond. The only thing Ozzy Osbourne is better known for other than awards and success is for controversy and shock. It is no secret that Ozzy had a problem with drugs and alcohol, and lived the true rock star party lifestyle. Continued on page 10

Continued from page 9 However the drugs combined with his dark stage persona of the Prince of Darkness, sometimes got out of hand. In 1981 after signing his first solo record deal with CBS Records he pulled dove from his pocket (That he had planned to release to much fanfare to celebrate the signing) and he instead bit the head off of it and spit it onto the table where he had just signed the deal, and then as security was escorting him out of the building he did it again to a second dove. And then in 1982, a fan through a bat onto stage and Ozzy thinking it was a prop, did the exact same thing and bit it’s head off live on stage, and as a result had to go get rabies shots after the show. These incidents did help catapult him to new levels of infamy and fame and sold countless records because it lived up to his dark persona, but one antic did not. One day in a drunken fit he shot 17 of his own pet cats. Interestingly enough, society forgave all of his antics and he even became the face of PETA for their Anti-Declawing campaign in 2020.
As one of the most accomplished musicians in both the US and UK, Ozzy Osbourne’s death on July 22nd. 2025 resounded across the world. It is one of the greatest losses to the music industry in our generation. He died on July 22nd, 2025 as a result of Heart Attack and factors related to Parkinson’s Disease. Ozzy Osbourne has millions if not billions of fans the world around and over 70 million records sold. He will be missed forever but never forgotten with a legacy that will forever be ingrained in the world. You will be missed by your fans, family and friends, who all loved you dearly. HULK HOGAN
World Renowned Wrestling Hero Terry Gene Bollea aka Hulk Hogan died at age 71
T
erry Gene Bollea aka Hulk Hogan was born on August 11th, 1953 in Augusta, GA. He is one of the most iconic WWE/WWF and WCW wrestlers of all time. But he was also an accomplished actor and musician. Growing up in Florida, music was his first passion, and he played fretless bass guitar in several Florida rock bands throughout his high school and college days. He had his own band called Ruckus, in 1976. It was during his time in Ruckus playing local bars where professional wrestlers frequented that he got discovered. Jack and Gerald Brisco (The Brisco Brothers) were the first to notice his enormous physique and introduced him to the world of wrestling and then the rest was history. Throughout his wrestling career which spanned more than 50 years and multiple continents, he went by many monikers. He was The Super Destroyer a hooded wrestler, Terry Boulder, Sterling Golden, Hulk Hogan, Hollywood Hulk Hogan, The Immortal Hulk Hogan and many others, however, Hulk Hogan was his primary name on the mat and in life. This name came about in two parts. After doing a local television talk show in Memphis, TN, He was on set next to Lou Ferrigno the star of The Incredible Hulk and many people commented on how much bigger he was than the hulk and the name took off from there. And when Vince McMahon took him on as the star and face of WWF and WWE he had wanted to make him an “Irish” wrestler so he gave him the second part of the name Hogan. Ultimately, this name stuck and became a worldwide phenomenon. Hogan spent several years in the New Japan Pro-Wrestling league and “Hulkamania” his term for everything related to his image, became a multi-continental power. Throughout his career he performed alongside all of the best and greatest wrestlers of the world and defeated most of them at some point as well. The list includes, Rick Flair, Randy Savage, Andre the Giant, The Iron Sheik, Earthquake, The Rock, Sting, And dozens of others. If you name your favorite wrestler from the 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s Hulk Hogan has performed with and or beaten every single one of them. Hogan also had some success on the big and small screens, with roles in movies like Rocky III, No Holds Barred, Suburban Commando, Mr. Nanny, Assault on Devil’s Island and Assault on Death Mountain, The Ultimate Weapon and
12
on television shows like his own series Thunder in Paradise and his reality show Hogan Knows Best, and his cameos alongside his good friend Mr. T in the A-Team. His image and the term Hulkamania lead to an enormous marketing machine, where he created multiple restaurants, had nearly 200 action figures and appeared in several wrestling video games. He also launched a new beer brand called Real American Beer, last year. Unfortunately his storied career almost ended after someone leaked a staged sex tape recording where he was setup and was recorded saying racially insensitive things about black people. Once this came out he was removed and barred from the WWE for three years, from 2015 to 2018. However after many public apologies and a lot of shame he eventually worked his way back into the good graces of his fans and fellow wrestlers, even garnering support from several black/African American wrestlers and celebrities. Terry Hulk Hogan, passed away from a cardiac arrest on July 24th, 2025. He had recently had some complications with a recent neck surgery and later reports also indicate that he had been battling Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia as well. This was one match he could not win. Hulk Hogan, your legacy of being one of the greatest and most iconic wrestlers of all time will live on forever, and you will be dearly missed by your fans, family, and friends. Rest in Peace Brother.

Reggae-Infused, Soul-Baring Anthem from Zimbabwe “CHEERS”
T
AWA Unveils "Cheers" – A Reggae-Infused, Soul-Baring Anthem for the Broken and Brave Zimbabwe-born artist TAWA is poised to turn heads and touch hearts with his emotionally charged upcoming single, "Cheers" — a haunting reggae-infused anthem set to release soon across all major streaming platforms. "Cheers" isn’t just a song — it's a raw confession. Crafted with hypnotic synths, gritty guitar riffs, and deeply introspective lyrics, the track takes listeners on a visceral journey through emotional fatigue, financial struggle, and isolation. It’s a vulnerable toast to pain, to persistence, and to the quiet chaos we often hide behind forced smiles. “It took me a while to admit that I’m a mess,” TAWA sings — a line that echoes the core of the track’s sentiment: unfiltered honesty. The lyrics are both a personal catharsis and a universal message for anyone who's ever drowned their emotions in silence or a glass of something strong. Blending the warm roots of reggae with modern production and fearless storytelling, TAWA’s sound pushes boundaries. He draws influence from musical trailblazers who came before him but shapes his own path in the global reggae community — fusing traditional vibes with a distinctly raw, contemporary edge. Produced by Dane Thompson for Team Gorilla Music (UK), mixed by Dayan Foster in Jamaica, and mastered at Megawave Studios in Michigan (USA), “Cheers” is an international collaboration anchored in authenticity and passion. 18 18

Red Ink Magazine got the pleasure of interviewing Gods Son Orllando and this is what he had to tell us. REDINK: Who or what influenced you to become an artist and when did it all begin? GSO: Yellow submarine by the Beatles was 1 of my favorite songs growing up. My mom would turn up the Radio while her and Dad fought. Music was my escape. I was in the Recording Studio at 13 yrs old. That's when I really fell in love . Making music and writing songs. REDINK: Tell us some of your struggles in the business, if any. GSO: One of my struggles has been dealing with PTSD from the 10 yrs in prison days. It was a life change for me. Then I
moved to Connecticut thinking life would be better. Man talk about racism. No one would hire me for over 12 yrs. I got my first brake at Autozone. In 6 months, I was assistant store Manager. 90-hour weeks I was putting in. REDINK: Do you have a favorite project that you worked on; that you’re most proud of? GSO: King of kings. It is by far the most graphic into my world. Father God is a great son, but King of Kings hands down. Continued on page 22 21 21

REDINK: Tell us something about yourself, a quote perhaps. GSO: “I did the 10 while in the Pen. Jesus Christ was my only friend”. REDINK: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?. GSO: Living life for GOD just like I am now. It is not an easy walk. Just gotta put in the work.. REDINK: Tell us about your latest project. GSO King of Kings is a real eye opener to the facts of life and prison and how God can save you anywhere and take you out of everything. REDINK: What can we expect next from you? GSO: Trumpets Blow. F o r Yo u r P l e a s u r e In August, Aries will dream for a while, and they will succumb to their ideas of a perfect life. During this period, certain blocks that have been following you for a long time will also surface, and even mild Aries health problems with your back will show up. That's why you should focus on yourself and start solving (Mar 21 - April 19) your problems; this month is the perfect time to solve many of them.
In August, Taurus will be full of passion and can look forward to many new love experiences. Due to your composure and peace of mind, you will spread positive energy in your surroundings, and you will Taurus get in touch with interesting people with whom you will be on the same wavelength. However, long-term (April 20 - May 20) problems accumulate at work, and you may also face unpleasant disputes with your superiors. August will bring many unpredictable twists and turns to Gemini, but these will be based only on irrational foundations. Therefore, do not let your feelings engulf you, and you better think about (May 21 - June 21) everything in advance and rationalize.
Gemini
August will be a challenging month for Cancer. You will be betrayed by one of your closest friends, and it will knock you down. You will deal with it, but it will be necessary to close up for a while and Cancer process everything gradually. Reading slightly spiritual books will be the right choice for you this (June 22 - July 22) month, as it will open your eyes in the sense that you will be able to forgive and move on in your life.
August will be a month full of success for Leo. You will prosper not only at work but also in your Leo personal life. You will shine with positive energy, positively affecting surroundings, and you can (July 23 - Aug 22) expect very interesting invitations to VIP social events. Wherever you walk in, you will be a welcome guest that everyone will want to chat with. Just don't let fame rise to your head. In August, Virgo will face mood swings. Therefore, this period will not be ideal for making important life decisions that need rational consideration and insight. On the other hand, your intu(Aug 23 - Sep 22) itive actions will not hurt. If these are ordinary things, on the contrary, it will make the situation much easier for you.
Virgo
In August, Libra will be very sociable. Empathy will awaken, and thanks to that, you will become favourite mentors to your friends. This month you would do everything for others, so it will be fulfilling (Sep 23 - Oct 22) for you when your friends confide in you, and you will be able to advise and support them. But this is not everything; your strong point will also be cooking.
Libra
August will bring a portion of stubbornness and drive to Scorpios. You will achieve whatever you set as your goal this month. However, you will have a tendency to have no regard for others and have no (Oct 23 - Nov 21) boundaries, which might be problematic, especially at work. Maybe your colleagues will look at you with some hostility in their eyes, but that could be because they will envy your drive and success. August will bring out some sexual energy and passion in Sagittarians, which they will have to give vent to. Sagittarius The best thing you can do is go on a holiday abroad where you can switch off and let yourself be led by your desires. You can look forward to incredible erotic experiences because you will crave to explore new (Nov 22 - Dec 21) areas of your sexuality which will open in you this month.
Scorpio
August will bring a lot of mood changes to Capricorns. You might feel as if you are on an emotional roller coaster that will not have a good effect on people around you or your partner. You will (Dec 22 - Jan 19) also have problems with jealousy and with a desire to control everything. That can be potentially very problematic if you will not hold yourself back.
Capricorn
In August, Aquarians will take everything too seriously and personally. You will also start being overly perfectionistic, which will motivate you, but also any failure of reaching your goals will put you down, (Jan 20 - Feb 18) and you might even have anxieties. You will lose track of what you actually want in life, and you will be looking for help from your close ones.
Aquarius
You will definitely not lack an urge to be social this month. Pisces will want to spend every free moment by some shared activity with their friends or partner. You will enjoy being playful, (Feb 19 - Mar 20) and you feel comfortable and confident talking with a higher number of people as well; they will listen to everything you say.
