Love of God: We love a God of reformation who is constantly making things new and whose free gift of grace makes us right with our Creator and with one another. WORSHIP Worship is at the very core of our identity at Redeemer. Holy Communion and God’s Word read and proclaimed are the weekly staples of our worship life. When we gather in worship, regardless of the service’s musical style, we encounter God in a way that we cannot by ourselves. We gather in response to the Holy Spirit’s invitation. We hear God’s Word for us: read, preached, and sung. We are fed and nourished as we share the body and blood of Jesus Christ in Holy Communion. We are sent in mission to the world. We celebrate those things which bind us together: prayers for our common needs, songs that lift our spirits, and a relationship with each other that is grounded in God’s great love for us. MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH 6th-8th Grade is the Confirmation Years For our 6th-8th graders, we operate under a 3-year Confirmation rotation using the “Here We Stand” curriculum (Small Catechism, Old Testament, and New Testament). During the Confirmation teaching calendar, we have one of our pastors teach the large group session and then the youth go with their small groups for the last time period. Small groups are broken up by grade level and gender. The groups also meet by grade level at the end of each month.

THE LÉTOURNEAU PIPE ORGAN Redeemer's Musical Heart In December 2002, Redeemer dedicated a new pipe organ built by Orgues Létourneau, a firm based in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada. REDEEMER JAZZ TRIO This talented Keyboard, Drums, and Woodwinds combo interprets traditional hymns with a jazz arrangement and starts and ends services with a mix of jazz standards and hymns for a unique, energetic worship experience.
Organ Scholar Program An organ scholar is a young musician (undergraduate or recent graduate) who is employed part-time as an assistant to the full-time musician in order to gain experience in playing, directing, and performing administrative duties.

Stephen Ministry
Some of life’s challenges such as divorce, grief, long-term caregiving, chronic disease, or other life transition need the support of a trained spiritual friend. This confidential care is provided more frequently than the monthly visitation ministers.
Grief Ministry
We provide immediate and ongoing comfort and support in the first year of grief through pastoral support, visitation ministry, bereavement cards, and a four-part book series called “A Time to Grieve.”
Wellness & Mental Health Caring Hands
We believe that taking care of our mental health is as important as addressing our physical health. Through retreats, training, and speakers, we are building a more resilient community. Volunteers assist with an errand, deliver groceries, pick up medication, provide a ride, or deliver a meal following surgery, birth, or death of a loved one.

In this series of forums expert panelists shed light on social issues that contribute to poverty and inequality. In addition to raising awareness of these issues, each forum is intended to provide participants with practical ways they can engage in their community and advocate for more equitable outcomes.

GLOBAL MISSIONS Serving boldly across the globe
Global Ministries at Redeemer celebrate God’s love and presence in every corner of the earth and serve in strategic relationships with our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world.
Nicaragua Since 2004, Redeemer has shared the love of Jesus Christ through medical, educational, and relational efforts. Our mission partner, For the Ninos, takes an annual medical mission trip (non-medical personnel typically come as support.) In 2008, Redeemer was instrumental in establishing the Christian Academy of Las Torres, which provides about 250 boys and girls in grades PK-6th a quality Christian education in an impoverished neighborhood.
Ethiopia Since 2008, Redeemer has been sharing the love of Jesus Christ through relationships and 12 hand water pumps in Ethiopia. Projects are coordinated with the Mekane Yesus Ministry for Rural Development and are planned in conjunction with the Southeastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
ELCA Global Mission Redeemer is a member congregation of the Southeastern Synod of the ELCA. We provide substantial financial support, a portion of which is combined with resources from other congregations to accomplish global ministry in ways that we could not do on our own.
Quilters Redeemer’s Quilters, who meet twice a month on Monday mornings, have provided well over 10,000 quilts to the global community at the rate of nearly 500 per year. All of our quilts are donated for global distribution by Lutheran World Relief. Call the church at 404- 874-8664 for information about how to join the Quilters.
International Missionaries For many years, Redeemer has provided small annual grants from Community Engagement funds to individual Lutheran missionaries around the globe. This is a ministry of prayer and support.

You notice two things about Lutheran Church of the Redeemer when you first attend a Sunday service: first, Redeemer has a beautiful building situated in the heart of midtown Atlanta, a nearly unbeatable location for vital ministry that has a broad impact in the surrounding city. The second thing you notice is the generosity of spirit among the people who attend. Members of this congregation care about each other and the difference they are making in the world. More than 1,700 members strong, we are diverse in background, age, family composition, neighborhoods, race, and occupation.
