Faith Formation Confirmation Confirmation is an important step in the spiritual journey of our youth. Confirmation Class will meet on the following Sundays in October: October 3, October 17, October 24, and October 31 (hybrid). We will not be meeting on Sunday, October 10. Middle School Parents Class Middle School Parents Class meets on Sundays from 10:00 am-10:45 am This class will not be meeting on Sunday, October 10 and October 17 . This is a great opportunity to meet with other Middle School Parents and learn what is going on in Confirmation too. High School Sunday School High School Sunday School meets hybrid on Sundays from 9:30 am-10:45 am. When inperson, we meet on Hinely Patio. College Group Our College Group meets every other week on the playground at Redeemer at 1:30 pm. They will meet on October 10 and October 24. Please feel free to invite friends! High School Parents and College Parents are invited to gather once a month on the first Sunday from 10:00 am-10:45 am. Quilts and kits! Redeemer’s
outreach never quits! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED Over 350 quilts and over 100 school and health kits were delivered to Trinity Lutheran Church in Lilburn on August 27, 2021. With the help of volunteers William Bolick, Carol and Jim Maxwell, Jean and Ivar Iverson, and John Nieman, this delivery begins an across-theglobe message of hope and care as part of the vital work of Lutheran World Relief. With countless volunteer hours and private donations, both the Redeemer quilters and the Northside Circle provided much-needed supplies, essentials, and basics to those in need.
Additionally, this past year the
quilters were able to share supplies with two other Lutheran churches and contribute ten quilts to our refugee family. Thank you to all who contributed their gifts of time, talent, and treasure to fulfill this mission of caring.

ABOUT MlDTOWN ASSISTANCE CENTER MAC is a non-profit, interfaith organization whose mission is to provide emergency assistance to low-income working Atlantans. MAC's aim is to help prevent homelessness and hunger during periods of crisis. MAC has the support of eleven congregations as well as the Midtown Alliance, many businesses, foundations, individuals, government entities, and volunteers. The members of MAC's Board and its 250 volunteers represent a cross-section of the Atlanta community.
LIBRARY MINISTRY New Children’s Books Redeemer’s Library Ministry Team is pleased to announce that the new children’s books we purchased recently have been processed and are now on display in Redeemer’s Library and ready for you to check out. These books were recommended by Kate Elkins, Midtown Preschool Director, and embody the concepts of diversity and inclusion. All are a valuable addition to our children’s collection. Here are a few examples.
Maybe I Can Love My Neighbor Too , by Jennifer Grant
and Benjamin Schipper A young girl wonders how to be a good neighbor to the dozens of people in her apartment building, the people on the street, and the other kids at the park. With help from her mother, the girl discovers that all it takes is a little kindness and creativity to show love to neighbors near and far.
For the Beauty of the Earth , by Folliot S. Pierpoint and
Lucy Fleming The poetry of this classic hymn combines with the beautiful illustrations (by Fleming) to create a picture book that both children and adults can enjoy. The lyrics of For the Beauty of the Earth celebrate creation, family, music, and community. The book includes the written music and lyrics so families can sing the song together.
God’s Dream , by Desmond Tutu
Archbishop Desmond Tutu has a vision of God's dream, which he shares here with young children. It involves people who reach out and hold each other's hands, but sometimes get angry and hurt each other—and say they're sorry and forgive. It's a wish that everyone will see they are brothers and sisters, “no matter their way of speaking to God, no matter the size of their nose, or the shade of their skin.” Disabilities Resources The Library Team has also purchased two books recommended by Pastor Jenny McClellan: The Bible and Disability : A Commentary (Studies in Religion, Theology, and Disability) and The Disabled God : Toward a Liberatory Theology of Disability. Both of these valuable resources are also on display in Redeemer’s Library and are ready for check-out.
