Congressman Doug LaMalfa met with Redding Rancheria Tribal Leaders to show his continued support for our Native American People and update us on government affairs happening in DC.
CAFFEINATE FOR A CAUSE FOR TURTLE BAY EXPLORATION PARK Redding Rancheria
The Redding Rancheria participated in the Caffeinate for a Cause event held on September 17, 2020. The Tribal Council went to support the event at the 7 a.m. -9 a.m. hour (Team Wendy Dickens of First 5 Shasta & Jeff Avery with State Farm) of the Redding Rotary Club of Redding. The Council presented a check for $1500 that counted as a donation to the Turtle Bay Exploration Park. This annual fundraiser benefits Turtle Bay’s work in cultural and science education, from care and feeding of the animals to subsidizing school field trips to booking blockbuster exhibitions!

We got to celebrate, Glen Hayward, for earning his Master of Science in Nursing and FNP with a mini-graduation in the Tribal Council Chambers. We are very proud of you! He received a diploma, cake and got to walk with the, “Pomp and Circumstance Graduation Walking March.”

Education Assistance Program Supplemental assistance up to $300 per calendar year is provided to help adult students attend college, university or trade school. Each student may submit one request per calendar year. The funds my be used for reimbursement or paid directly to the school or vendor for tuition, books or other required materials. You must have a C (70%) or better to receive funds.
APPLICATION PERIODS: SPRING-JANUARY 1ST-JUNE 30TH FALL-JULY 1ST-DECEMBER 31TH Funds are limited for each intake period and are administered on a First Come First Serve basis.

We were happy to be a Master Sponsor in the One Safe Place Golf Tournament this month to help the cause. One Safe Place has stated there is a 40% increase in crisis calls and a 27% increase in visits for service at the shelter along with a dramatic increase in the brutality of the cases and recent local domestic violence homicides. Cost of shelter is going up and donations are at an unprecedented low. Today we would like to announce our #EmployeeoftheMonth for September 2020. Congratulations to Dani Hayward, Special Projects Manager, for receiving this award for the following reasons. She continuously makes substantial contributions to other departments, such as Senior Nutrition, the Education department and Head Start. She organizes and coordinates the general membership drive through meetings, the purchase and distribution of Elder’s groceries and comes up with so many good ideas
