The combination of Cowboys flipping Pancakes at the break of dawn is a Shasta County Tradition and the Redding Rancheria is proud to purchase 500 tickets for staff to enjoy and have a great time together! We are proud to play our part!

SHASTA MUD RUN Redding Rancheria

The Youth Options Shasta Mud Run was held on May 7th at the Historical Hawes Farms. We had 11 participants and they all overcame every obstacle and nothing was going to stop them from finishing. Not only was this a super muddy fun event, is was all for a good cause. We are proud to play a part!

HEAD START STICK HORSE PARADE REDDING RANCHERIA HEAD START & CHILD CARE

The Redding Rancheria Head Start and Child Care celebrated Rodeo week!! Yee-haw!! Our students paraded down Redding Rancheria Road with on their homemade stick horses!! After the parade the children participated in a barrel race event here at the school. All of the parents cheered from the sidelines. We finished off the day with a barbeque lunch. Great job to all of our cowboys and cowgirls!

THE REDDING RANCHERIA HEAD START & CHILD CARE SERVES NATIVE AMERICAN CHILD AGES 3 -5. OUR PROGRAM OFFERS LIMITEDTRANSPORTATION, SLIDING SCALE FEES, MEALS, INDIVIDUALIZED EDUCATION PLANS, CULTURAL ACTIVITIES, SPECIAL EVENTS, FIELD TRIPS AND MUCH MORE! We are currently accepting pre applications for our 22/23 school year at the Redding Rancheria Head Start & Child Care located at 1850 Redding Rancheria Rd. These programs offer both full day and part day classes for Native American children between the ages of 3-5 years. Limited transportation is available by school bus. Head Start is a federally funded program. Parents do not need to be working or going to school to qualify for Head Start, but must meet income requirements or participate in CalFresh. There is no fee for the Head Start Program. The full day Child Care program for children ages 3-5 whose parents are working a minimum of 25 hours a week or going to school full time. The Child Care Program has a sliding scale fee. The sliding scale fees in our Child Care program are designed to assist low to moderate-income level working families. Both the Head Start and Child Care adhere to the highest program quality standards, with the goal that each child receives a “Head Start” to school readiness. Parents play an important role in their child’s education through communication, attending special events, and working with staff to ensure each family’s needs are met. Both the Head Start and Child Care program participate in the “Child and Adult Food Program.” The meal program is available without charge to all enrolled children. In accordance with Federal Law and U.S. Department of Agriculture policy pertaining to this program, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. HOW TO APPLY: You can apply online at www.reddingrancheria-nsn.gov on the Head Start/ Child Care page. Parents can use the application form to apply for both Head Start and Child Care. Or you can call the center at 530-225-8925 and an application will be mailed to you. Your child must turn 3 by September 1st for both programs. RRTHS OFFERS SUPPORT AT PROJECT HOMELESS CONNECT Redding Rancheria Tribal Health System

The Redding Rancheria Tribal Health System was given an opportunity to help and serve the community during the 2022 Project Homeless Connect at the Redding Library Parking Lot on May 17th. This event provides resources to men, women, children and Veterans of Shasta County who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless. Numerous vital services were available to our neighbors in-need, all in one location, for this one-day event at no cost. This event is created to help them obtain identification, housing, employment, education, children’s services, legal aid, medical services, vision assistance, dental aid, food, and other individual needs.

The Redding Rancheria Tribal Government stands in solidarity with helping to bring awareness to Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls. We wore red Thursday, May 5, 2022 for the National Day of Awareness. We will continue to help raise awareness and do our part to end this epidemic in Indigenous communities. Please stand with us. Wear red, help educate others, and bring light to this cause. Thank you.

THE CHAIRMAN PATHWAYS TO HOPE SPEAKS FOR CHILDREN AT SUNSET ZOMBIE ROTARY RUN CLUB OF REDDING Redding Rancheria

The FIRST ever Pathways to Hope for Children Zombie Run was held on May 21st and we had a blast. The Redding R edding Rancheria Rancheria and Win-River Resort & Casino were proud to sponsor the first ever Zombie Fun Run and it was a blast. Thanks to everyone that attended. It was great to see families together making memories that will last a lifetime!

Outdoor Challenge is all about! The challenge is ongoing and ends on July 4th, 2022. There plenty of time for any of the staff at the Redding Rancheria to accept the challenge. Get outside, get active, and get busy living because this is what an active lifestyle looks like.

Redding Rancheria donates an additional $300,000 to 60 local organizations in Shasta & Trinity Counties totaling $700,000 during Covid-19 “The Redding Rancheria Tribal Government was excited to hold a check presentation for $300,000 for the Redding Rancheria Community-Owned Small Business Grant event. This was our third round of funding since 2020. In 2020, we gave 20 organizations $5,000 as a gift for a total of $100,000. In 2021, we gave 60 organizations $5,000 for a total of $300,000. The Redding Rancheria Tribal Government again granted $300,000 to be split amongst 60 of our selected applicants in May of 2022. After receiving several applications from local community businesses and non-profits who have suffered from the uncontrollable loss Covid-19 it was our decision to grant another $300,000. Each applicant received $5,000 on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. On Wednesday, May 25th, 2022 the Redding Rancheria Tribal Government held a check presentation for $300,000 for the Redding Rancheria Community-Owned Small Business Grant event. HEAD START CLASS OF 2022 Redding Rancheria Head Start & Child Care

This year twenty-six children will be graduating from the Redding Rancheria Head Start & Child Care and be moving on to either Kindergarten or Transitional Kindergarten. The Graduation celebration will be held at the Win River Event Center on Friday, June 3 at 9am. We are proud of all of our students who have worked hard to meet their school readiness goals this year. To all of the families, we celebrate YOUR children’s life and times in preschool! You have entrusted the most important thing in your lives to us--your child. We can’t tell you how much we appreciate that trust! We thank you for sharing your children with us and for allowing us to be part of your family during this time. We will miss your children more than you know. But, we smile through the goodbye tears because we are so grateful to have been part of their lives and your family during this time. Thank you to our teachers, for your dedication to the children and their families. Thank you for your thoughtful planning and time invested in the lives of each and every one of these children! Congratulations to all of our graduates!

REDDING RANCHERIA’S EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH We would like to congratulate Molly Redmon, Executive Assistant – CEO, for being the Employee of the Month for May 2022. Molly is a “go-to” person for many things, she is responsible for court functions such as: IT troubleshooting, notifying parties, all court correspondence and any scheduling surrounding court matters and does it all with a kind smile on her face. Despite the complexities of working in some very troubling cases, Molly

maintains her professional, but compassionate duties. This is a small token of her excellent work. Behind every successful court/ Judge is a dedicated and supporting court clerk and Molly Redmon is just that person. Molly does all of the above while also filling the role as Executive Assistant to the CEO. A true valued employee who deserves recognition for her commitment and hard work.
