3RD ANNUAL REDDING RANCHERIA BIG TIME!!! Redding R ancheria
In traditional times when tribes had an abundance of something, they would reach out to other tribes to share in their prosperity! It is in this tradition the Redding Rancheria holds an annual Big Time to give and to honor the 17 Original Distributees! This event was a beautiful day filled with different cultures coming together to share stories, songs, dancing, and compete in a traditional Handgame Tournament for $5,000. There was over 40 Native American craft & food vendors and to beat the heat you cannot forget to take a dip in Clear Creek.
HUMAN RESOURCES SUMMER OF FUN SCAVENGER HUNTS! Redding Rancheria
Looking for ways to incorporate fun into our daily lives is good and incorporating fun into our work lives is even better. During the month of June, we have had 137 employees participate in amazing scavenger hunts that include looking for summer inspired locations, items, and activities. A HUGE thank you to the Redding Rancheria Human Resources Department for hosting the “Summer of FUN Scavenger Hunts’.

We are Proud to Play Our Part in honoring this important day. On June 19th we celebrated Juneteenth, the original commemoration of the end of slavery in America. More than two years after President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Texas, the outermost Confederate State, and enforced emancipation in the state, freeing the last of the slaves.

The Redding Rancheria Community Fund at the Community Foundation of the North State has awarded $89,860 in grants to 44 organizations in Shasta and Trinity counties. The fund, which has a special focus on serving indigenous, youth and/or rural populations has historically also supported a diverse array of causes including fire protection and public safety, outdoor recreation and education, arts programming, and care of elders. This cycle’s awardees remained diverse in their missions. Tracy Edwards, Chief Executive Officer at the Redding Rancheria said, “We are proud to play our part in the community. Knowing how much need exists in our region, decision-making continues to be difficult. We are dedicated to supporting worthy causes and know there will be additional opportunities in the future.” “The needs of our region are diverse and plentiful, but the Redding Rancheria continues to provide for many organizations through this fund. We’re grateful for their long-time investment in our community,” said Kerry Caranci, Chief Executive Officer at Community Foundation of the North State. The Redding Rancheria Community Fund - established in 2001 to support worthy causes in Shasta and Trinity counties - is one of the longest-standing funds at the Community Foundation. Redding Rancheria’s Chief Executive Officer Tracy Edwards threw out the First Pitch to start the Redding Rancheria’s Night with the Colt 45’s. Health and wellness are a cornerstone of how we live our lives here at Redding Rancheria. With the support of each other, it is fun and engaging! Redding Rancheria Tribal Health System was given an opportunity to celebrate the freedom of love! Love is love and we encourage and welcome more of it. This event was a heartwarming experience.
