DENTIST BIO Redding Rancheria
My name is Ashley Meyer and I am very happy to be here working as a new dentist. I grew up in Shasta Lake City and still reside there today. I attended Shasta College, Chico State University and recently graduated from Roseman University of Health Sciences, Utah. I have been a patient myself at Redding Rancheria for many years and looking forward to my three young children and husband to become patients as well. I feel very lucky not only be back in my home town, but to also be a part of the Redding Rancheria Dental team.
DENTIST RETIREMENT Redding Rancheria
Melanie Broderick RDA retired from the Dental Department after working with the Redding Rancheria for 10 years. Melanie helped reopen the Dental clinic in 2011 at the Churn Creek location and was one of only 4 original employees. She saw the department expand, moving to our current location and expand again with our renovations to increase to 13 dental chairs in 2015. At her retirement she was the senior RDA in a department that had now grown to over 20 employees. Melanie enjoyed helping plan for the expansions to Weaverville, Churn Creek, and the future Health Village. Her input on those projects will benefit patients for years to come. In retirement, Melanie plans to spend time with her family and try her hand at restoring antique furniture. We wish her all the best.

PIT RIVER STICK GAME CHAMPION! Redding Rancheria
Nathan Hayward (16 years old- Redding Rancheria Tribal Member), is this year’s Pit River Stick Game Champion for the youth and the men held at this year’s Annual Ancestral Run! Great job Nathan- you now have bragging rights for this whole year and for the rest of your life! The pictures are of his winning championship moves and Pit River Stick Game Leader- Angel Winn. The annual Ancestral Run held in Pit River territories is a prayer run that is revived from a story of the Pit River peoples. This story is about how the mountain lion and the bear raced from volcano to volcano (Mt. Shasta to Mt. Lassen) to see who is the fastest runner- but in the end it was a tie & and the story goes on how entities can be together as one and share. These old tribal teachings are positive for our tribal peoples. These prayer runs are especially positive in these challenging times for our youth, families, and the land and the understanding of respect it brings. These prayer runs strengthen us emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually. The Pit River Stick Game is just one part of the strength and love our cultures bring and build. REDDING RANCHERIA DONATES $305,000 TO 61 LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS IN SHASTA & TRINITY COUNTIES Redding Rancheria August 23, 2021 “The Redding Rancheria Tribal Government held the check presentation for our $100,000 July 2021 Redding Rancheria Community-Owned Small Business Grant event. After receiving 400 applications from local community businesses and non-profits who have suffered from the uncontrollable loss Covid-19 has brought, it became too difficult of a decision to narrow down our selection to 20 applicants. Because of this, the Redding Rancheria Tribal Government raised the amount awarded in our grant to $305,000 split amongst 61 of our selected applicants. Each applicant received $5,000 on Monday, August 23, 2021. We would like to thank every local business and non-profit that continues to support our tribe. We are proud of the community that we have created working together and hope this grant helps you to continue providing services we are so fortunate to have.”

LIHEAP Low Income Home Energy Assistance
Due to Covid 19 pandemic, the Redding Rancheria Tribal Administration is closed to the general public, but our LIHEAP energy assistance is available. Read the following for assistance.
LIHEAP offers energy assistance to local Native American households. This lowͲincome program is available to cover electricity, propane/gas, and wood. To qualify you must fill out an application, reside in the Redding Rancheria service area, and provide the following required documents:

Copies of SSN Cards for all Household Members
Copies of Birth Certificates (children)
We provide a fillable online application that is available on Redding Rancheria’s website in the Community Services section.
