State of the Tribe

On May 20, 2026 the Tribe held the 20242025 State of the Tribe. The event was held in the Win-River Event Center and was very successful with 380 people attending from the community including local dignitaries from the Redding Rancheria, Shasta County, City of Redding, City of Anderson, and Shasta Lake City. This was the 10th State of the Tribe. The first was held in 2001 when people had very little knowledge of tribal governments and the Tribe decided it was time to tell their own story and educate the community on the Tribe. Since then, each State of the Tribe transparently acknowledges its programs and progress and reaffirms its commitment to the future for Tribal members as well as the community.

Celebrating 33 Years of Win-River Resort & Casino

Win-River Resort & Casino proudly celebrated its 33rd Anniversary with a special evening honoring the Redding Rancheria Tribal Members. The celebration was filled with laughter, reconnecting with one another, exciting prizes, and plenty of fun.

For 33 years, Win-River Resort & Casino has been a place where community, entertainment, and lasting memories come together. We are grateful to everyone who joined us in celebrating this important milestone and look forward to many more years of success, celebration, and shared memories together.

Celebrating 33 Years of Win-River Resort & Casino

Win-River Resort & Casino recently celebrated its 33rd Anniversary with the Anderson Greeters during a fun morning gathering filled with laughter, connection, and appreciation. We are grateful for the continued support from our community and everyone who has helped create so many wonderful memories over the years. Thank you for celebrating this special milestone with us, and here’s to many more years together.

Native American Heritage Night

The Redding Rancheria and Win-River Resort and Casino had an amazing time at the Redding Rodeo Native American Heritage Night. It was a night full of excitement, laughter, community, and a great time for all. We truly appreciate the Redding Rodeo Association for their continued community partnership with the Redding Rodeo and the Redding Rancheria Stillwater Pow Wow. Partnerships like these helped make our community strong, connected, and special.

This year, the stagecoach was a huge success. Chairman Jack Potter Jr. sat on top, waving and welcoming the crowd. Inside were Tribal Members Tony Hayward, Trish Baker, Leon Benner, and Mariah Riley. During the Redding Rancheria special, our CEO Tracy Edwards introduced the dancers, who showcased the 2026 Stillwater Pow Wow, scheduled for October 2–4.

Final Beam Raising for Tribal Health Village

On May 14, the Redding Rancheria proudly placed the final structural beam atop the highly anticipated Redding Rancheria Tribal Health Village, marking a major milestone toward the completion of what will become one of the most advanced and revolutionary healthcare delivery systems in California.

More than just another health center, the Tribal Health Village represents a transformational vision for healthcare, one centered on prevention, wellness, wholebody healing, scientific advancement, compassion, and the healing of generational trauma.

The nearly 195,000-square-foot facility is designed to fundamentally redefine how healthcare is delivered by integrating modern medicine with functional medicine, behavioral health, wellness, fitness, preventative care, and culturally grounded healing practices into one unified system of care.

“This is not simply a construction milestone, it is a promise to our Tribal members, our Native people, our employees, and our community,” said Glen Hayward, Executive Director. “Today we celebrate the future of healthcare. A future where patients are treated with dignity, compassion, innovation, and whole-person care. The way healthcare should be delivered.”

Once completed, the Tribal Health Village will stand as one of the largest and most comprehensive Tribal healthcare campuses in California, bringing together state-of-the-art medical services, advanced wellness resources, behavioral health support, fitness and rehabilitation services, and preventative care initiatives under one roof.

The beam raising ceremony symbolizes more than the completion of a structural framework. It symbolizes hope, resilience, vision, and the continued commitment of the Redding Rancheria to improve the health and well-being of generations to come.

The Redding Rancheria celebrates its Tribal members, Native communities, dedicated team members, project partners, and the broader community that we continue to serve.

Mildred Rhoades Diabetes Prevention Walk

On May 8, Redding Rancheria Tribal Health Services hosted its 26th Annual Mildred Rhoades Walk, honoring those living with diabetes and remembering those who have passed from the complex chronic condition.

Chairman Jack Potter Jr. opened the event by sharing a heartfelt story about his late grandmother, followed by a prayer. Attendees enjoyed a walk together on the warm spring day and later gathered for a delicious lunch catered by Dill’s Deli.

RRTHS Community Health Diabetes Educator

Janelle Revnak delivered a thought-provoking presentation on the importance of using personfirst language when discussing diabetes. She emphasized how empowering language can make a measurable difference, encouraging individuals to say, “I’m a person with diabetes,” rather than, “I’m diabetic.”

The event brought the community together in remembrance, support, and education. We look forward to welcoming everyone back next year for the 27th Annual Mildred Rhoades Walk in early May.

Missing & Murdered Indigenous People Resolution

On May 7, Assemblymember James Ramos presented Resolution ACR 163 during the Assembly Session, recognizing May 2026 as Missing and Murdered Indigenous People Awareness Month.

Redding Rancheria was honored to accept the resolution in recognition of the ongoing Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples (MMIP) crisis impacting Indigenous communities across California. This important acknowledgment helped bring awareness to the voices, stories, and families affected by the MMIP crisis while continuing the call for justice, healing, and change.

Together, we stand in remembrance, solidarity, and advocacy for our Indigenous relatives.

Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women & People Shirt Day

On May 5, we recognized Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Indigenous Peoples Day. This day raised awareness of the violence that continues to impact Indigenous communities, especially Native women, girls, and Two-Spirit people. Many cases remain unreported or unsolved. By wearing red, we honor those we have lost and stand together in support of awareness, healing, and meaningful change.

Missing & Murdered Indigenous People at the Capitol

Chairman Jack Potter Jr., alongside his wife Myrna, joined Assembly Member James Ramos and his wife at the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples event held at the State Capitol.

The event brought together tribal leaders, advocates, families, and community members to raise awareness about the Missing and Murdered Indigenous People’s crisis impacting Native communities across the country.

By standing together in unity, attendees honored the lives of those who have been lost while continuing to advocate for justice, healing, and greater awareness for Indigenous communities.

Redding Rancheria remains committed to supporting efforts that bring visibility to this important issue and strengthen the voices of Native people throughout California and beyond.

Redding Rancheria Welcomes Dr. Robert English, D.O.

The Redding Rancheria Trinity Health Center is proud to announce the addition of a new provider to our growing healthcare team.

Dr. Robert English will be joining our organization, bringing with him a deep commitment to patient care and a passion for serving rural communities. Dr. English specializes in family medicine, providing comprehensive care for patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics. His love for the outdoors and active lifestyle makes him a natural fit for the Trinity County community.

We are honored to welcome Dr. English to our team and to our community. His dedication to whole-person care aligns perfectly with our mission to serve with compassion, respect, and excellence.

For many employees, working at Redding Rancheria is both a professional and personal experience.

Brandy Gemmill shared that one of her most memorable experiences was receiving the Value Award last year. “That was really different for me,” she said.

Victoria Gemmill reflected on the many benefits of working for Redding Rancheria. “There are just so many different perks. I really enjoy the wellness program. I think it’s amazing. If I ever had a company, I would want to emulate the same type of benefits. It’s an amazing program with amazing coworkers. Also, the beauty of being able to work with my family is something I could never find anywhere else. I feel very fortunate to have that in my life.”

Honor Gemmill shared that her most memorable experience was joining the Redding Rancheria team after spending much of her time at Win-River Resort & Casino. “Finally getting to come over to Redding Rancheria and be with family, spend time together, and work together has meant a lot to me,” she said.

Head Start & Child Care Stick Horse Rodeo

The magic started long before the parade. Our little wranglers created their own one-of-a-kind stick horses using fabric, yarn, rhinestones, googly eyes, and plenty of creativity. Once the parade began along Redding Rancheria Road, families and community members cheered on the adorable cowboys and cowgirls as they proudly clip-clopped by. After the parade, it was time for barrel racing. From speedy runs to playful tumbles and sweet waves to family in the crowd, every moment was filled with fun, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

We had a wonderful morning celebrating Win-River Resort and Casino’s 33rd Anniversary with the Anderson Chamber of Commerce Greeters! Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating this special milestone. We appreciate the continued support, community partnerships, and friendships built throughout the years. Family First Policy Award

We sincerely thank First 5 Shasta for celebrating with Redding Rancheria at the State of Early Childhood event. It was wonderful to come together and recognize the incredible work being done to support children and families throughout Shasta County. We are honored to receive the Family First Policies Award and are truly grateful for the recognition. Redding Rancheria is proud to stand alongside so many organizations dedicated to strengthening our community and supporting future generations.

Honoring Hope Wilkes Through Community Giving

At Win-River Resort & Casino, Bingo is more than a game. It is a community built on connection, generosity, and family.

Each night, our Bingo team hosts a special game in honor of Hope Wilkes, Redding Rancheria’s longest serving Tribal Council Member and one of our longest serving employees. Hope bravely battled cancer, and this game was created to celebrate her legacy and continue her spirit of compassion and care for others.

During the Hope Wilkes Bingo Special, half of the winnings go to the lucky player, while the remaining proceeds support cancer related causes.

Thanks to the generosity of our Bingo community, the Redding Rancheria Tribal Council proudly presented a $6,029 donation to the American Cancer Society on May 12, 2026.

We thank everyone who participates and helps continue Hope’s legacy of kindness, strength, and giving back to the community.

Employees Of The Month

We would like to congratulate Tiare Manutai as our May 2026 Employee of the Month.

Tiare has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication to her team and responsibilities throughout her many years of service and during significant periods of growth and development within the Behavioral Health Department.

She approaches every task with initiative, professionalism, and a positive attitude, never hesitating to step in when support is needed.

Tiare is deeply committed to the patient’s at the Behavioral Health Department and approaches every situation with respect, compassion, and understanding.
