Dear Parents and Caregivers, Well done to all students on the completion of another school year. This week has seen the feedback for the Year 12 students following the first assessment period of their final year. Year 10 students have been busy doing their NESA HSC Minimum Standards Tests in numeracy, writing and reading. These tests are compulsory and need to be passed in order to be awarded a High School Certificate, so we believe in getting those done and dusted prior to the commencement of Year 11. The Year 9 students visited the Bondi Campus for a High School Orientation on Monday where they were introduced to life as a Year 10 student at the Senior Campus. Year 7 students attended Taronga Zoo where their experience enhanced what they have learned during the year in Science about the classification of animals, the adaptations they have that allow them to live in their specific ecosystem, and where they fit in the food web of their ecosystem. The Year 8 visit to Luna Park was given a distinct mathematical flavour as they had to put their skills learned this year to the test to solve an activity worksheet based on the real-life situations presented by the rides at the park.

Congratulations to Izzy Lowe and her team of journalists, all Year 10 students at the moment, for the effort that you have put into this newspaper. Tuesday’s Prize Giving Ceremonies at Paddington Town Hall was a chance to congratulate and honour all the students for their Sports, Cultural, and Academic excellence. Congratulations to all the recipients of Honours, the highest award for excellence at Reddam. This can be awarded for three sets of Full Colours in Sports, Cultural, or Academics. Academically for receiving an SCI of over 93%, or the equivalent of national representation in any discipline.

The last edition of the Stag for 2022 was distributed to all students on Monday. Here is the link for those parents interested in the goings-on from the student’s perspective.
