Year 7 - Year 9: Will not have weekly Cycle Tests and will start school at 10:00 am on a Friday Once a week each Year Group will end their school day at lunchtime. The final two lessons of the day will be free for each individual to use as needed. Examinations will be held but will be spread over three weeks. Students will write exams on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning from 9:00 am and will continue with the normal school timetable on their completion each day.
Many parents have requested whether Reddam can source Pfizer vaccinations for our eligible students and I am pleased to announce that we have. Dr. Harry Hirschowitz, the husband of our Primary School Hebrew teacher, has blocked out times specifically for Reddam Students and teachers to get vaccinated on 19th and 26th September at his practice: 248 Bondi Road Bondi, NSW 2026. Please be aware that because of the way the system is set up, there are 'booking blocks' of 6 people at a time. If a booking block is full, please try the next one and so on. Claudia Jones, our resident specialist, and careers guidance counsellor, is wellpositioned to assist our HSC students in honing in on local universities of interest. Annually she also organises for someone to represent American Universities. For those looking further afield, our Inspired connection has opened up opportunities for students who are interested in reputable colleges. Despite fierce competition at the world’s best universities, one in three Inspired students continues their education at world-renowned Russell Group and Ivy League schools. Later in this newsletter, you will find two leaflets for new partnerships with Arete Educational Consulting and The Classroom Door. Both provide university support and guidance to students, helping them to gain access to the university of their choice. Inspired has negotiated a special discount for those who require this consultancy service.

Online Gaming
The world of online gaming has taken over so many young people’s lives. Lockdown has made computers ubiquitous throughout Aussie homes and parents are juggling online learning with online gaming, often not able to tell the difference when they themselves are working and homeschooling.
In recent years online gaming has been maligned but there is a fair amount of information about the social and cognitive benefits of games. Reddam House’s partnership with Family Zone provides our community with support information to assist parents to understand the benefits and drawbacks of
online gaming, allocating screen time and the need to determine the age appropriate content of games.

Hamilton Island Art Retreat is an exclusive Art Retreat which is open to Elective Art students or students who are passionate about art who may not currently study art as an elective subject. Hamilton Island is one of the most magnificent destinations in Australia and Reddam House students are fortunate to be able to have the opportunity to work with the artist in residence and attend a private art lesson in the studio space on the island. The students will be involved in a range of workshops daily at different vantage points around the island such as drawing, watercolour, environmental sculptural and photography.
