June 8, 2009 American Red Cross Meriden, Wallingford Chapter and Feed the Hungry/Children Association 144 So. Main Street Wallingford, CT 06492
To: Governor State of Connecticut M. Jodi Rell State Capitol 210 Capitol Avenue Hartford,CT 06106 Dear Governor Rell:
I'm writing this letter because of the economic downward spiral, which is a disaster. Things seem to be
getting worse overall, but I. congratulate you for the many outstanding things you have been doing that
make a tremendous difference in the stabilization and advancement of our economic recovery.
The Meriden, Wallingford Chapter of The American Red Cross, which houses the office of, Feed the
Hungry/Children Association, is closing their doors, laying off the workers, and selling the building.
The American Red Cross, in this central location, is flourishing and has the resources to serve hundreds
of people in need. There is still much to be done, and this organization is financially sound and can
stand alone in this endeavor.
Why would anyone even think of closing down the economic resources and stop this relationship with
the communities, when there doing so good?
The building is the prize!
Governor Rell, we are asking for your expertise in this matter, because this is on a large scale, and must
be intervened .
On another note, pl:ease read the enclosed narrative, which is our bid to help, Connecticut recover from
it's economic woes. Feed the Hungry/Children, works throughout Connecticut and offers the hungry
people, food and work in the Garden communities, however large, however small.
Furthermore, WALMART is the largest agricultural retailer in the world, because of this I'm asking,
WALMART to lend a hand, by donating a Tractor with attachments, to plow the fields.
In closing, I'm thanking you ahead of time, for your attention in this matter. Sincerely, for, Feed The Hungry/Children Association
