WALLINGFORD — In a game characterized by costly turnovers and an aggressive running game led by Joey Mastroianni, North Haven defeated Sheehan 31-21 in an early season SCC show-

“That’s North Haven’s style of football,” said Sheehan head coach John Ferrazzi. “They’re on the field a lot; and with a team like ours, we’ve got a lot of players on both offense and defense.

They grind it out, but I’m not going to make any excuses. We’re going to use this game to fuel us and get us better.” Sheehan, a SCC Tier 2 team, fell to 1-1. North Haven, elevated to SCC Tier 1 after See Football, A13

The event, which is run by the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce, will feature multiple local businesses and vendors, as well as music on the green from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free to all. There will be an antique car show and family activities from the YMCA of Wallingford. The Business Expo will also have food from local vendors such as J Roo’s, Connecticut Chowder, and the Corinthian Lodge 103 Masons. Ray Andrewsen, the executive director of the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce, said the event will run rain or shine. “We've created a safe, family-friendly event. So we'd love to see people come

out. We'd love to see people support North Haven businesses,” Andrewsen said. If live music and supporting local business isn’t enough, Andrewsen also said attendees have the chance to get free merchandise. “The first 200 people (who) come to the green will receive, if they choose, a free titanium engraved water bottle — a very nice item...go engrave your name right on the bottle,” Andrewsen said. Attendees will also have an opportunity to vote for their favorite vendor booth, an act which will automatically enter them into a raffle to win Avelo Airline tickets or a Weber Griddle, among other prizes. The Chamber of Commerce has been working with multiple town offices, including the office of First Selectman Mike Freda, to make the event See Expo, A8
