WALLINGFORD — Thirty-two years ago, Rosa DeLauro won her first election to represent the 3rd District in the U.S. House of Representatives, and this year she is hoping to win her 17th election for the seat.

To that end, on Wednesday, Sept. 7, she kicked off an election year tour of the district at Wood-n-Tap in Wallingford, telling supporters she wants to hear from them about what they feel Congress should be doing to improve their lives. “Labor Day is over and we are six weeks to an election,” she told the

crowd. “I’m very excited about it and what’s wonderful is we are here in person tonight. I get to hear from you, I get to hear your questions and whatever is on your mind.” In the past, DeLauro hosted a bash at her Huntington Street home in New Haven for town committee members from the municipalities

Day of Wine, Roses, and Brews returns Sept. 25 By Nicole Zappone The Citizen

This month marks the 20th anniversary of the Day of Wine, Roses, and Brews fundraiser sponsored by the North Haven Rotary Club. This year’s gathering will take place Sunday, Sept. 25 on the grounds of Forget Me Not Florist, 39 State St. The event will run from 1 to 5 p.m. Along with the traditional wine and beer tasting, the Day of Wine, Roses, and Brews 2022 will feature an international food festival, with 35 local restaurants participating.

Last week, it was North Haven's turn in the spotlight. The town fair, celebrating 80 years, ran from Sept. 8 to 11. See Fair, A11
