The Christmas in July craft show featured pet goods, jewelry, handcrafted items, and much more. The event included activities for children and a Touch-aTruck area. Also, St. Nick stopped by and promised to return to the fairgrounds for the Nov. 25 Winterfest craft show.

NHFD: Don’t be caught off guard this hurricane season Press Release

Chief Paul Januszewski and the North Haven Fire Department wish to share guidance on hurricane awareness and preparedness. June 1 marked the official start of the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs through Nov. 30. And, recognizing the importance of preparing for the impact of extreme weather, the National Weather Service declared July 10-14 Hurricane Preparedness Week in Southern New England.

Most hurricanes and tropical storms that impact New England occur during late August and September, and residents are encouraged to prepare early. Hurricanes can bring many types of wind and water hazards, including storm surges, strong winds and flooding. The Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency offer several tips to help residents better prepare for extreme weather. See Hurricane season, A6
