Historical Society celebrates funding Citizen report

This month, the Berlin Historical Society learned it would receive a State of Connecticut Cultural Fund Operating Support Grant in the amount of $5,500. Located at 305 Main St. in Kensington, the Berlin Historical Society Museum houses a collection of early tin, brick and Berlin-related artifacts. Along with its permanent exhibits, new displays are created annually. In a social media post announcing the grant, the Berlin Historical Society said the funds “will enable us to improve access to our archive, and help us better preserve artifacts, documents and textiles. It will also help us create new ways of engaging a diverse public through video content, more events and programs.” Family Dollar and Dollar Tree are now together under one room at 45 Chamberlain Highway in Berlin. ‘Eat Local’ push rolls on as need continues
