Norwalk Recreation Brochure Summer 2026

Page 1

Dear Community Members,

Summer is here, and it is a great time to get outside, stay active, and enjoy everything Norwalk has to offer. The Recreation and Park Services Department is proud to share the 2026 Summer Schedule of Activities, featuring updates, programs, events, and opportunities for families, friends, neighbors, and residents of all ages to connect and make the most of the season.

This summer, construction for the Hermosillo Park Rehabilitation, Stormwater, and Infiltration Project is currently underway. Residents will begin to see construction of the new 8,000-square-foot Hermosillo Park Community Center, which will serve as the new location for recreational and leisure classes, workshops, and event venue rentals, bringing new amenities and learning opportunities for the community to enjoy.

In July, we hope you will join us for the Independence Day Festival at Holifield Park as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of America. Bring your family, enjoy live entertainment, grab a bite to eat, and stay for the spectacular fireworks finale!

For those looking to cool off, the Norwalk Aquatic Pavilion offers recreational swim, swim classes, and family-friendly events throughout the summer. Come and enjoy a fun flick poolside at our Dive In Movie Night in June as well as water games, food and good vibes at the annual Aqua Carnival in July.

Lastly, students are encouraged to visit the Park Pals program during their summer vacation. Facilitated at select City parks, Recreation staff will be onsite to lead fun, engaging hands-on activities such as arts n’ crafts, board games, and sports activities. Some parks will also include the Summer Lunch Program, which provides a nutritional lunch for children ages 1-18. Both programs are a great way for children to make friends, stay healthy, and enjoy their neighborhood parks.

There is plenty to do for everyone this summer, and we can’t wait to see you and your family at our parks, programs, and community events.

Sincerely,
