News from the Oceanside City Council Harbor Dredging The Army Corps of Engineers notified staff this week that the project will be delayed (and possibly cancelled), as they are waiting on a required water quality certification from the San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board . . . In order for the project to start, the Corps must receive all permits and issue a notice to proceed by May 1 in order to complete the work by Memorial Day weekend . . . Staff
was previously told the project would get started in midApril and will keep asking for status updates. Train Quiet Zone Plans are to start the quiet zone crossings at the southernmost crossing, Cassidy Street, this summer and finalize the northernmost crossing, Surfrider Way, by January 2019.
