By the middle of the year, interest rates catapulted, and the market slowed greatly. However, experts are predicting good signs for the market ahead! Tighter market conditions will be driven by increased demand for ownership, lower fixed mortgage rates, a resilient labour market, and record immigration.
TORONTO REAL ESTATE BOARD Expects sale prices in the GTA to rise in the second half of this year, with competition among buyers to heat up. Recent indications are that buyers are ready to enter the market again.
RE/MAX CANADA & OAKVILLE A balanced market is expected in Oakville for 2023, with sale prices to increase 2% over 2022 and the number sold to fall by -5%. Move-up buyers are expected to drive demand, with single-family homes in the highest demand.
