TIP OF THE MONTH Recently a client of ours called on a Heating and Air Conditioning Company because their furnace was not working properly. After spending $120 to have the furnace checked, they were told they were using the wrong furnace filter. We have heard this same story many times over the years and have learned from many of our home inspectors, reputable heating companies and even Nicor Gas Company that many repairs would not be necessary if homeowners would use the least expensive, light weight, pleated filter. And change the filter every month. Next time you are at your favorite hardware store pick up a package, but be sure to check the size of your current filter before you leave home. The heavy and expensive filters can cause you problems.
