Royal Recognition of National Service and Leadership
RCSI Medical University of Bahrain extends its warmest congratulations to Her Excellency Dr Diana Abdulkareem Al Jahrami, Secretary General of the Higher Education Council and Deputy Chairperson of the Higher Education Council Board of Trustees, and His Excellency Colonel (Dr) Salman Mohammed Al Khalifa, Commander of King Hamad University Hospital, on the occasion of their being awarded the National Action Medal by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
This distinguished national honour reflects their sustained dedication and impactful contributions to the advancement of higher education, healthcare leadership, and national development in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Their service and commitment continue to play an important role in strengthening institutional excellence, supporting strategic national priorities, and shaping a resilient and forward-looking health and education sector.
Advancing Women’s Empowerment through Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award
In an event held on 9th September, the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) announced the launch of the eighth edition of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for Bahraini Women Empowerment. Representing the University, Professor Ghufran Jassim, Head of Department & Associate Professor of Family Medicine and Member of the Equal Opportunities Committee at RCSI Medical University of Bahrain, attended the event. Her Excellency Lulwa Al Awadhi, Secretary General of SCW, highlighted that the award serves as a practical mechanism to achieve equal opportunities and gender balance, recognising excellence among ministries, public and private institutions, civil society organisations and individuals. According to criteria set by the award committee, evaluation for the award is based on achievements in supporting working women, integrating their needs into national development plans, and facilitating women’s access to leadership and decision-making positions.
