MODELS

HARAKUJU STYLE Essy

EDITORS Letter

This February issue comes together at a time when emotions have been close to the surface. Essy and I both had to deal with loss within the span of a single week, a reminder that even in creative spaces like Second Life, real feelings and real life experiences are always present. Grief has a way of slowing everything down, but it also brings clarity, about what matters, who we hold close, and why we keep creating.

Despite the heaviness of those moments, this magazine is once again filled with creativity, dedication, and the strength of our community. Fashion, photography, and storytelling continue to be a way for many of us to express what words sometimes cannot.

In this issue, we are proud to feature Blogger Dacio Holgado, whose work brings vision and personality to every post, and Photographer Damatjo Magic, whose images capture mood and emotion in a way that truly speaks. Our AIM Models took on the vibrant challenge of Harajuka styling, while our readers stepped into the wild with the Wild Life Furs theme, each interpretation unique, bold, and personal. Let’s also read about our model of the month Elvaz.

With Valentine’s Day just behind us, love feels like a fitting theme, not only romantic love, but love for creativity, friendship, support, and the connections we build through this world. Second Life continues to be a place where expression and community matter, especially during times when we need them most.

Thank you to everyone who contributed, participated, supported, and continued to believe in Models Magazine. Your presence, creativity, and kindness never go unnoticed.

With gratitude,

BonieFacio

ELVAS MACPHERSON

Model Elvaz Macpherson

Behind every avatar is a real person with a story, and behind Elvaz Macpherson is someone grounded, grateful, and quietly passionate about fashion. What began as curiosity in Second Life evolved into a meaningful creative journey, not driven by ambition or competition, but by expression, learning, and enjoyment.

Elvaz approaches modeling with humility, humor, and heart. Whether walking a runway, teaching HUD basics, or simply enjoying family time away from the screen, she reminds us that growth happens step by step, and that fashion, at its best, is something to be shared.

In this honest and heartfelt interview, Elvaz opens up about her journey, her inspirations, and the mindset that keeps her moving forward.

Behind the avatar, who is Elvaz Macpherson?

Behind the avatar is a normal person. I’m Spanish, and I live a simple life. Second Life is a distraction for me, a space where I can do things that, due to circumstances, I can’t always do in real life. It’s a way to express myself and enjoy myself, without further ambitions.

Outside of Second Life, my greatest interest is my family. I enjoy quiet moments with them, listening to music, watching TV series, reading, and disconnecting from everyday life.

How did your journey in Second Life begin?

When I first joined Second Life, I wasn’t looking for work. It was out of curiosity and a way to pass the time. Over time, fashion became an important part of my life, and I’ve now been involved in this world for several years. I still find it creative, dynamic, and full of talent.

My modeling career developed gradually. I stared out of curiosity and was amazed by what was possible. I decided to pursue it more seriously because I love fashion. Seeing the talent and dedication of those around me inspires me to keep growing.

Nobody gets anywhere alone, and I’m no exception. I’m very grateful to my family and to all my colleagues, past and present, who have supported and accompanied me on this journey.

Where are you currently working?

I currently work at Amazing Impressions Modeling and Audace, and until recently I was at Mahasiah, where, in addition to modeling, I taught how to use HUDs and how to combat lag. Over the years, I’ve worked for several other agencies, some no longer exist, but all of them helped me learn and grow in this industry

How would you describe your personal style and inspirations?

I like to be comfortable, but with an elegant touch that makes me feel good. I admire many designers, especially Coco Chanel and Valentino, although there are many others I love.

I also enjoy discovering new places, strolling through historic city centers, visiting museums, going to amusement parks, or simply getting lost wandering through a city. As for movies, I enjoy horror and stories based on true events, I like films that make you feel and think.

Have you taken modeling courses, and how do you continue learning?

Yes, I’ve taken several modeling courses in SL. Some are free. It’s always good to be taught, direct instruction is very helpful. You never stop learning.

I ask a lot of questions, I’m very inquisitive, I look for tutorials on YouTube, and I spend a lot of time practicing, trying things out, and learning at my own pace. That’s how you gradually improve.

What advice would you give to beginners?

Take at least one course and practice a lot. Nobody is born knowing everything. If someone tells you something isn’t right, don’t get angry, they’re helping you improve.

There are many things in this field that aren’t immediately obvious, and a course helps tremendously in understanding them.

What do you love most about modeling?

What I love most is modeling, the adrenaline rush and the satisfaction when everything goes well. I also enjoy preparing poses and styling, thinking about every detail.

With blogging and photography, I’m learning every day. I’m not the best, but I really enjoy it, and there are always interesting courses to help me improve.

I have no problem modeling any type of clothing. I like trying new things and enjoying every experience. In the end, what’s important is to have fun, learn, and give my best on every runway or in every shoot.

Have you ever experienced an unforgettable runway moment?

One of the funniest anecdotes I remember was during a fashion show when I suddenly experienced severe lag. There were no barriers on the runway, and my avatar froze, right above the designer, literally on top of his head.

I thought, I wish the earth would swallow me up. Instead of throwing myself down or running away, I turned around with as much dignity as I could, went back to the runway, struck my pose, and continued the show. The audience applauded, some laughed, and inside I just wanted to disappear. Now I look back on it with a good dose of humor.

What makes you stand out as a model?

I don’t think there’s anything special about me that makes me stand out. I’m just me. Sometimes funny things happen, like the story I just told, but I simply try to do my best.

How do you see competition within the industry?

There’s a lot of competition in this industry, and sometimes you hear talk about bad blood or envy among models. I haven’t experienced that.

I’m lucky enough to get along with everyone. I think competition is good when it motivates you to improve and learn from others.

Do you have long term goals or dreams?

To be honest, I’ve never thought about it in a specific way. If someone offered me something, I’d definitely take it on with enthusiasm and see what happens.

I don’t know what will happen in a year. I think I’ll still be learning, just like I am now. I prefer to take it one step at a time, continue enjoying what I do, and improve little by little.

My main objective is to keep growing, learning new things, and experiencing everything with enthusiasm.

What would you like to see in the SL fashion world?

I’d like to see more support and collaboration among everyone, so that the fashion world in SL is more fun and motivating for those who are just starting out.

A final message to our readers?

It’s a beautiful and very entertaining world, where you meet very nice and creative people, designers and coworkers alike.

My advice for future models is to take it seriously. Even though it’s a game, you work as a team. There are people who invest a lot in their projects, and it’s important to be responsible and respect everyone.

Thank you for thinking of me for this interview. I loved being able to share a little bit of my world with you.

Blogger Dacio Holgado

In this interview, we talk with Dacio Holgado, a longtime Second Life resident and visual blogger whose work blends fashion photography with immersive, carefully designed environments. With a strong background in landscaping and sim design, Dacio brings a distinctive nature-driven perspective to blogging, creating images that balance clothing, atmosphere, and storytelling. In this conversation, he shares his journey into blogging, his creative process, and how he stays inspired in a constantly evolving virtual world.

Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/dacioholgado/

What can you tell our readers about yourself and your blog?

I’m an almost 20-year Second Life player who started a photoblog on Flickr on a whim, teaching myself the basics of blogging and photo editing along the way. Currently, I work as a Design Director, primarily focusing on landscaping, for the Magnolia City roleplay community. Together with my team, I design and landscape the community sims.

My blog shots are usually a combination of my own landscaped sims or other beautiful regions in Second Life, with my avatar showcasing clothing items within those environments. I enjoy blending the natural aspects of Second Life into my fashion blogs. Most of my work focuses on clothing, with occasional landscaping-focused photos as well.

Describe how you first got into blogging. I originally created my Flickr account back in 2017 to take pictures of landscaping projects for a roleplay community I worked with, along with a few side projects. Over time, I started taking photos of my avatar within those landscapes, using them as backdrops. Eventually, I built a strong portfolio and began exploring the clothing side of SL Flickr blogging, and it naturally grew from there.

Can you tell me some of your strengths that really helped you in blogging?

I’m very detail-oriented by nature, which helps me notice small details that others might overlook. I’m always looking for the best angle or pose placement when taking shots. I’m also open to learning new editing techniques and enjoy learning from others to improve my work over time.

What was your greatest failure and what did you learn from that? Taking on too many blogging responsibilities at once and becoming overwhelmed with deadlines. When that happens, my creativity drops and my shots start to feel more like obligations rather than something fun and creative. It taught me to be more selective with the stores I blog for and to focus more on creativity instead of just “satisfying the blog.”

Second Life is a big place. Do you have any other interests besides blogging?

Landscaping is a major interest of mine. I’ve worked on several landscaping projects and currently serve as the Design Director for Magnolia City, a Florida-based roleplay community. My team and I focus on sim design and landscaping, and much of the community is featured in my blog photos because it offers great photo opportunities..

Why did you start blogging? Describe your writing and creative process, from concept to publishing. How do you stay motivated? Each month, I review my blogging commitments and start thinking about concepts. I look at the item I’m blogging, decide what kind of scene fits it best, and then find a location. I search for the right spot, experiment with angles and poses, and spend a lot of time adjusting windlights to get the right shadows. I usually take multiple shots with different settings, review them, and then select the ones to edit and publish. Music helps a lot with motivation, and sometimes a specific song inspires the entire concept.

How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running? It can be difficult at times. I see my creativity as “lightning in a bottle,” where I’ll feel inspired for a few days and then go through slower periods. During those times, I work through it by looking at other bloggers’ work

The fashion industry has a lot of bloggers. How do you get in contact with or pick the designers you blog for? I’ve become very selective due to time constraints. If a store requires several shots per month, I usually don’t commit because of real-life and Second Life responsibilities. I tend to blog for designers whose timeframes work well for me. I keep an eye out for blogger applications and usually apply during those periods, unless I’m approached directly.

Blogging is very time-consuming. How do you deal with organizing your posts?

I don’t usually keep a large backlog of photos and enjoy shooting on a whim. I try to blog the most current outfits stores offer and then create a scene around them. I stay organized by finding sims that fit the item well and usually post within a few days after shooting, allowing enough time for editing and review so nothing gets lost.

How would you describe your personal style, and do you have a fashion inspiration?

My style is very nature-focused. I always try to include outdoor elements, whether that’s nature, city environments, or the ocean. I don’t have a specific fashion inspiration, but I’m drawn to adventurous, outdoorsy, travel-style shots. I love exploring Second Life and discovering new regions people have created.

How do you attract new readers? What social media strategies work best for you?

I post my work across multiple platforms, including Flickr, Primfeed, and Facebook, to spread my content and find what works best for me. Networking is key. I enjoy exploring Flickr groups, discovering other photographers’ work, and following their journeys. It’s a great way to connect with people and grow an audience naturally.

Can you tell me about some sources where you get products for review? I use a mix of products from stores I’ve blogged for in the past, current blogging partners, and items I purchase myself. Currently, I often feature items from Noche and Kindex, which I blog for. I always include detailed credits in my posts and am happy to let people know where items come from if something is missed.

How active are you on a weekly basis, and how often do you communicate with your followers? I used to post three to four times a week, but due to real-life and other SL commitments, I now aim for one or two posts per week. I try to interact with my followers weekly by commenting on their work and offering the same support they give me.

What would you like to achieve in the future? Any dreams?

I don’t have major long-term goals beyond continuing to learn new photo editing skills and techniques. Blogging is a fun hobby for me, and I enjoy growing creatively. I often look back at older work to see how much my style has evolved.

Singer of the Month

Corvus Blessed

The Country Crooner of Soul

Second Life is filled with talent that goes far beyond fashion and photography. While our magazine often highlights models, bloggers, and creatives, the grid is also home to powerful live performers who bring real emotion to virtual stages.

Today we step into the spotlight with Corvus Blessed, a singer who has been sharing his voice professionally on the grid for nearly two years. With roots in country, soul, and R&B, and a stage presence fueled by heart and authenticity, Corvus reminds us that behind every avatar is a real story, real passion, and real dedication.

Our readers would love to know more about the person behind the avatar. Who are you, and where are you from? Can you share three characteristics about yourself? My name is Corvus Blessed. For nearly two years I’ve been singing professionally on the grid and sharing my voice with the rest of the Second Life world. It can be a little harder for me since I have asthma, but I’ve been getting by with a little help from my friends, sorry, bad joke.

I come from Southern California, but I was raised in Baltimore, Maryland, and I’ve been here for 32 years. I am a genuine, kind, and peace loving person who loves bringing magic to the stage for myself, my fans, and everyone watching.

Who are your musical influences, and how have they shaped your style? When I was young, my father played in a bluegrass band and often invited me to join their jam sessions. I would usually choose to sing Michael Jackson. After my parents divorced, my sister and I sang R&B while doing chores. As an adult, I began learning songs as a hobby to explore my vocal range.

All of these experiences led me to follow in my father’s footsteps and become an artist. I never imagined I’d be singing online in Second Life, but life has no blueprint, we’re mostly just along for the ride.

Have you ever dealt with stage fright or performance anxiety? How do you manage it? I experience performance anxiety every time I step on stage, but once I start singing, it fades away. The crowd is still there, yet it becomes just me and the stage. It feels almost like a trance, a peaceful state where I feel capable of anything.

Do you ever get bored doing what you always do? How do you keep things exciting?

Like anyone, I get bored sometimes, and that can lead to mistakes on stage. To avoid that, I keep learning new songs, over 200 and counting. Not a bad habit to have, right?

Have you ever had to adapt your musical style for a specific audience or venue? Yes. While I mainly sing country, some venues require other genres, so I’ve built a varied playlist. I’m more than just a country boy these days.

How do you stay updated with trends and advancements in music? I use TikTok a lot. Some of the musical talent coming out of TikTok is amazing. I wish I had more time to create content like that. I used to post covers on YouTube every Saturday, but I’ve stopped for now.

Getting followers and building an audience is not easy. How do you get people to attend your sets? I use multiple resources. I have a management team, Audiohouse Management, who helps me. My beautiful wife, Mrs. BustyChocolate Blessed, who is a dancer in the Dyme Divas dance group on the grid, also helps promote every show.

I promote in Discord servers, forums, Facebook groups, SL groups, my own group, my Facebook page, and through my subscribo. There are many places where I advertise before going live, and it usually helps build a crowd.

Sometimes venues can have drama, jealousy, or even bullying. How do you deal with that? I’ve dealt with a few incidents during performances, not about my singing but about audience behavior. Once, someone came on stage and acted inappropriately, which forced me to stop mid song out of respect for my wife. During a competition, I also addressed a singer’s fans who had bullied another contestant.

More recently, someone became upset during a show when my manager sent out group invites, and I had to explain that it was part of their job. I handle situations like that and move on. There’s no reason to dwell on toxicity.

Besides singing, what else do you enjoy doing in Second Life? I love exploring unique sims and making videos in Second Life. Spending time with my wife and family is always important to me. I also enjoy attending open mic events to listen to new talent and dance a little.

If someone has never visited your venue, how would you convince them to come? What would be your headline?

Corvus Blessed, The Country Crooner of Soul From country heartstrings to soulful classics and beyond, Corvus Blessed brings raw emotion, smooth vocals, and unforgettable vibes to the SL stage. Come feel the music.

Can you describe your work ethic and preparation process?

I usually arrive at the venue about an hour early to get everything ready. I do a sound check to make sure my stream is clean, my voice feels right, and my asthma isn’t acting up. After that, I spend time promoting the show so people know I’m going live.

In the last 15 minutes, I rehearse any new songs and listen back to make sure I’ve got them down or to see what I can improve. It’s a process, but it works for me.

Any last thoughts for our readers?

I’ve said this before, but I can’t stress it enough. If you’ve been wanting to do something in Second Life, don’t be shy. Do it. This is a world where you can explore your wildest dreams, your deepest desires, or your journey of inspiration. Don’t hold back.

PhotographerDamatjo Magic

With over sixteen years of experience in Second Life, Damatjo Magic has quietly built a rich visual legacy rooted in fashion, landscapes, and atmosphere. What began as a practical step into blogging soon evolved into a daily creative ritual, where photography became not just a skill, but a language. From carefully styled fashion shots to serene landscape compositions, Damatjo’s work reflects a deep love for color, environment, and storytelling within the virtual world.

In this interview, Damatjo shares their journey into photography, their creative process, technical preferences, and the passion that continues to drive them to pick up the camera every single day.

Could you share some details about yourself, including your interests beyond photography? Additionally, could you let us know your background and the specific areas of photography that you concentrate on?

About sixteen years ago, I was introduced to the wonders of Second Life. After about two years, I got into modeling, participated in fashion shows, and was actually obliged to start a fashion blog. That’s how my love for photography started.

At some point, more shops asked me to blog their products , not only clothing, but also poses and furniture, and photography slowly became my main activity in SL. In addition to fashion photography, I love exploring beautiful sims, which naturally led me into landscape photography.

Every day I take a photo, sometimes for blogging, sometimes a landscape, and I like to share my work on my Flickr page.

Have you undergone any formal training in graphic design, or do you have a background in it? Additionally, what sparked your initial interest in delving into photography within Second Life, and which aspects of virtual photography do you discover to be the most captivating or challenging?

I don’t have a graphic design or photography background. I got into photography through blogging and by following other photographers on Flickr.

When I photograph fashion, I try to match the clothing with the environment, especially in terms of colors. For landscape photography, I focus on using the beautiful windlights that Second Life has to offer nowadays. That balance between environment, lighting, and mood is both the most captivating and the most challenging part for me.

What three words describe your personal photography style?

Nature – colours – background

Many of our readers are curious about your technical process. Could you tell us more about your use of windlight, image size, and angles? Do you have a favorite setup you return to?

I make a lot of use of the many windlights available in Second Life. I’m a big fan of the BattleScars windlights by Jay T Murs , they have beautiful colors and clouds.

I usually take my photos at a size of 6000 x 3000 pixels. For landscape photos, I always try to include something in the foreground to create depth, and I make frequent use of depth in general.

A tip for photographers: when you zoom in, use Ctrl + 0 instead of your mouse. It gives a much nicer image.

Is there a specific photograph you’ve taken that holds a special place in your heart? If so, could you share the link and explain why it stands out to you?

I don’t have one single picture that I hold closest to my heart, but I do clearly remember how proud I was when one of my landscape photos won prizes for Best Landscape Photography of Second Life. It’s also the only picture I’ve made that received more than 500 favorites, which still makes me smile.

What projects are currently occupying your creative focus? Are there areas you’d like to explore further, or goals you hope to achieve in the future?

I’m still blogging every day, which means I try to take a picture every single day. I would like to learn more about special effects and working with lights and shadows. I once tried Lumipro, but I still don’t really understand how it works.

People often ask me to take portraits of them, and that’s something I’d like to explore more in the future. I’m still learning new things in photography every day, so who knows where it will lead.

For now, I simply enjoy every picture I take.

Is there anything else you would like to say to our readers?

Keep practicing photography. I’ve had moments where I thought I wasn’t good enough, but just keep trying. Practice makes progress.
