ANNUAL IMPACT REPORT 2025-2026

WE ARE RBEF...

Every student is writing a unique story. For one child, that story begins by discovering a love of music. For another, it’s building a robot, stepping onto a college campus for the first time, finding confidence through athletics, or meeting a professional who inspires a future career. These moments don’t happen by chance. They happen because a community chooses to invest in its students. OUR MISSION ...................................................02 OUR FUNDING ..................................................03 OUR IMPACT .....................................................04 RBEF-SUPPORTED PROGRAMS .................08 OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS ...................23 OUR GALA EVENT SPONSORS ...................24 OUR GOLF EVENT SPONSORS ....................25

A NOTE OF GRATITUDE Dear RBEF Supporters, There is something incredibly meaningful about seeing a student discover a new passion, gain confidence in their abilities, or further develop their knowledge and skills. These are the moments that can shape how a student sees themselves and what they believe is possible - and they are at the heart of why we do what we do. An exceptional education takes more than state funding alone. For more than 35 years, the Redondo Beach Educational Foundation has been committed to investing in programs and experiences that support the whole child. From their very first day of school through graduation, we work to ensure that every RBUSD student has access to experiences that inspire, challenge, and expand their sense of what they can achieve. And we know that none of this would be possible without you. THE STRENGTH OF OUR SCHOOLS IS POWERED BY A COMMUNITY THAT BELIEVES IN ITS STUDENTS - AND CHOOSES, YEAR AFTER YEAR, TO INVEST IN THEIR FUTURE. This Annual Impact Report for the 2025-2026 school year is a reflection of what that commitment makes possible. Behind every program and student opportunity is the generosity of parents, businesses, and community partners, who care deeply about our schools and students. Together, we are not simply funding programs - we are helping create meaningful experiences that become part of our students’ stories. We are proud to share what we accomplished together and deeply grateful for the role you played in making these opportunities possible. Thank you for being part of the RBEF community and for investing in the future of our students. With gratitude,

Gloria Macri Executive Director Redondo Beach Educational Foundation

Kimberly Quihuis Board President Redondo Beach Educational Foundation

OUR MISSION OUR VISION RBEF proudly and efficiently raises money for the Redondo Beach Unified School District (RBUSD), allowing them to focus on the educational, social, emotional, and physical well-being of every student.

The Redondo Beach Educational Foundation (RBEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to inspire our community to invest in Redondo Beach public schools so that every student can develop knowledge and skills that go beyond what public funding alone would achieve.

OUR VALUES INTEGRITY: Everything we do will be upheld to the highest ethical standards and best practices of nonprofits. TRANSPARENCY: We will strive for honest and open communication with our community partners. INCLUSIVE: Through collaboration with our entire community, we can multiply the effects of our contributions GRATITUDE: We are equally grateful for the gifts and talents given by those before us and for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our Redondo Beach public school students.

OUR HISTORY Established in 1991 by a group of concerned parents and community leaders who realized that an excellent school system could not rely on state funding alone, RBEF raises money through its annual Investor Drive, Business Partnerships, and special events. We believe the best opportunities come from raising the most well-rounded children, and we support whole-child development for all students in our Redondo Public schools from their first day of Kindergarten to their last day of High School. 2

OUR FUNDING 2025-26 RBEF REVENUE SOURCES

For over 35 years, RBEF has been providing support to all RBUSD students, recognizing that an excellent school system cannot rely solely on state funding. We support whole-child development for our students from their first day of school to their last day of High School. From music and physical education programs to robotics and STEM, from field trips that enrich the classroom curriculum to college and career readiness programs, and from teacher grants to CTE Project ECHO support, it is investments from business partners like yours that make it all possible.

RBEF ANNUAL GRANTS TO RBUSD Every school year, RBEF provides a grant to RBUSD to fund a set of programs that the District deems are essential for all students, regardless of school site.

Every program we support is a chapter in our students’ stories, helping them grow, dream, and shape their future.

OUR IMPACT RBEF allocates a major portion of these Skechers grant funds directly to RBUSD schools, with distributions based on each school’s individual walker participation. These unrestricted funds have made a lasting impact across every school in the district throughout our 13 years of participation, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who walks, donates, volunteers, and supports this event. Your participation helps strengthen educational opportunities for students across our district and demonstrates the power of our community working together.

RBEF ANNUAL MINI GRANTS TO RBUSD SCHOOLS Each year, the entire Redondo Beach Unified School District (RBUSD) comes together for one of our community’s most anticipated events: the Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk. This inspiring event raises critical funds to support children with special needs and public education, while bringing our community together for a meaningful cause.

CREDENTIALED PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHERS (ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS) Physical education plays a vital role in student development, promoting health, wellness, and lifelong fitness habits. While P.E. Teachers provide grade-level instruction tailored to student needs, the classroom teachers use this dedicated time for collaboration, instructional planning, and student intervention planning. RBEF is proud to fund this win-win model that ensures students receive high-quality P.E. from credentialed specialists, while teachers deepen their expertise in Common Core Standards.

RBEF-SUPPORTED PROGRAMS

ELEMENTARY VOCAL MUSIC PROGRAM (TK – 4TH GRADE) Through funding provided by RBEF, all TK–4th grade students receive year-long vocal music instruction from two full-time credentialed music teachers. This sequential music program gives students the opportunity to develop musical skills and knowledge year after year, creating a strong foundation in the arts. In addition to learning music, students build creativity, confidence, discipline, and collaboration skills that support their academic success and personal growth. ELEMENTARY BAND PROGRAM (5TH GRADE) The 5th grade elementary band program brings credentialed music teachers to each elementary school twice per week, providing students with high-quality, hands-on music instruction. Working in small instrument-specific groups, students receive individualized guidance as they develop foundational musical skills. Through the program, students learn to read music and play a variety of instruments, including the flute, saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, and percussion, building both confidence and a lifelong appreciation for music. 9

RBEF-SUPPORTED PROGRAMS

ROBOTICS (ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE, AND HIGH SCHOOL) The FIRST LEGO League introduces science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to students in grades 4th-5th through fun, hands-on learning. Students engage in real-world problem-solving experience through a guided robotics program. They utilize teamwork, innovation, communication, and collaboration to compete in global competitions. In 2025-26, the Elementary and Middle Schools Robotics Teams had amazing results at the FIRST LEGO League Regional Tournament in Burbank. Students from Beryl, Washington, Alta Vista, and Parras brought their A game and demonstrated exceptional creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. The Beryl team won the Breakthrough Award. The Parras team won the Core Values Award, the Washington team took home Multiple Awards, while the Alta Vista team finished in 1st place. The Washington and Alta Vista teams advanced to the Southern California tournament. 10

RBEF-SUPPORTED PROGRAMS

The Beach Cities Robotics high school team is a Southern California robotics team based out of Redondo Union High School that is committed to providing students of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to learn about STEM. Team members participate in all facets, from programming to design, from electrical to business. They fabricate on CNC routers, CNC lasers, 3D printers, manual mills, lathes, bandsaws and hand tools in lab. Students learn game analysis, 3D CAD design, programming, and electrical wiring. Our High School Beach Cities Robotics Team had an incredible season, including a 1st place finish at the Aerospace Valley District Event, Creativity and Imagery Awards, and a top 12 ranking out of 296 teams in California. The team qualified again in 2025-26 for the First Robotics Competition (FRC) World Championships in Houston, Texas.

RBEF-SUPPORTED PROGRAMS SCIENCE CAMP TRANSPORTATION (5TH-8TH GRADE) Science Camp provides students with immersive, hands-on learning experiences that bring classroom concepts to life while fostering curiosity, teamwork, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world. All 5th- and 6th-grade classes went to Pali Institute, a Supplementary Education Program accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). This camp is a great complement to the work students do in the classroom because it enables them to engage in hands-on, immersive experiences such as stargazing and astronomy, squid dissection, and aerodynamics. Our 7th grade students attended Camp CIMI (The Catalina Island Marine Institute). With active marine science research labs staffed by researchers and teachers with degrees in marine science, students learned about marine life, island ecology, and ocean adventure. Our 8th graders went to Astro Camp. The program is aligned with the state-adopted Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). They experienced a wide range of activities in physical science and astronomy, thus allowing the students to explore science in an engaging and hands-on way. Our students learned about the light spectrum, lasers, how electricity and magnetism work, rocketry, and aerodynamics.

RBEF-SUPPORTED PROGRAMS

TEACHER GRANTS (TK-12TH) RBEF’s highly regarded Teacher Grants Program continues to expand each year, providing meaningful support to educators as they bring innovative and creative approaches into the classroom. These grants help foster dynamic learning environments that spark curiosity, promote critical thinking, and inspire student creativity. In the current academic year, RBEF proudly funded 24 teacher grants that benefited students across all grade levels. One of the teacher grants funded this year was the RUHS Student Author Program, which provided students with disabilities an authentic opportunity to become published authors while developing critical academic, communication, and social-emotional skills. Through structured writing instruction, storytelling, collaboration with peers and staff, and participation in a public book signing event, students demonstrated increased confidence, self-expression, literacy skills,

Another exceptional example of a teacher grant we proudly supported this year came to life on stage through the Spring Musical, The Wizard of Oz. Bringing together students from both middle schools, the production was a remarkable display of talent, collaboration, and dedication. From the performances to the production quality, the show captivated the audience and reflected the incredible impact of investing in arts education - an experience our students and community won’t soon forget.

RBEF-SUPPORTED PROGRAMS

MUSEUM OF TOLERANCE FIELD TRIP (8TH GRADE) The visit to the Museum of Tolerance is far more than a field trip for all our 8th-grade students. It is a powerful, eye-opening experience that challenges these students to think deeply about history, humanity, and their role in shaping a more just world. Through immersive exhibits and honest conversations, students confronted the consequences of prejudice and indifference and gained a stronger understanding of empathy, respect, and responsibility.

15

RBEF-SUPPORTED PROGRAMS PROJECT ECHO (9TH-12TH GRADE) Project ECHO provides students with entrepreneurial and leadership programs designed to help students excel in college, careers, and their communities as future change-makers. Through hands-on experiences, students learn essential business skills and engage in the real-world process of transforming an idea into a viable business. The program culminates in a showcase event where students present their start-ups, preparing them to compete in the Teen Business Plan Competition for cash prizes. Redondo Union High School’s Project ECHO program continues to channel students’ passion for entrepreneurship into real-world success. At the 2025 Project ECHO Entrepreneurship Business Plan State Competition, held on May 4 at Cal State University Dominguez Hills, RUHS students delivered an outstanding performance, earning top honors across multiple categories. Competing against 53 teams from 19 schools, two all-freshman teams took first place: “Timewise,” an app designed to manage time and personalize study plans (Services Category), and “Bliss,” heated bathrobes (Products Category). Two additional teams earned second place for “Kowzy,” a multi-functional towel (Products Category), and “TapIn,” digital business cards (Services Category). Rounding out the success, another RUHS team placed third with their restaurant concept, “Fasta Pasta.” This remarkable showing highlights the impact of Project ECHO in fostering innovation, confidence, and real-world skills that prepare students for future success. 16

RBEF-SUPPORTED PROGRAMS

MIDDLE SCHOOL INTRAMURAL SPORTS PROGRAM (6TH-8TH GRADES) Our two middle schools provide after-school sports programs to approximately 300 students each year. These programs encourage physical activity, teamwork, school engagement, and positive peer relationships during an important stage of student development. RBEF funding helps offset the costs of operating the program, including increased transportation expenses for students traveling to games and competitions.

17

RBEF-SUPPORTED PROGRAMS

AVID SUPPORT (MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL) AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a program dedicated to closing the achievement gap by preparing all students for college. The program trains educators to use proven practices to prepare students for success in high school, college, and a career, especially students traditionally underrepresented in higher education. AVID: (1) teaches skills and behaviors for academic success, (2) provides intensive support with tutorials and strong student/teacher relationships, (3) creates a positive peer group for students, and (4) develops a sense of hope for personal achievement gained through hard work and determination. RBEF funds the district and school membership fees for the program and funds AVID field trips at middle and high schools.

18

RBEF-SUPPORTED PROGRAMS

ESPORTS (MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL) The last several years have seen the rise of esports teams in high schools across the country, and many colleges offer esports programs for students. Esports encourages communication and coordination among students, deepening their levels of interaction and teamwork. Additionally, esports teaches valuable skills such as streaming, production, programming, and management. RBEF funds the ongoing costs of coaching, tournament registrations, equipment, and the culminating middle and high school tournaments. This year, Adams Middle School won the Middle School Championships and brought home the coveted trophy and prize.

19

RBEF-SUPPORTED PROGRAMS PSAT – EARLY PARTICIPATION COLLEGE APTITUDE TESTS (11TH GRADE) The PSAT provides students with valuable insight into their college readiness and helps them understand how their academic skills align with expectations for higher education. To ensure equitable access, RBUSD has partnered with the College Board for many years to offer the PSAT during the school day, allowing all juniors to participate rather than limiting testing to those able to attend a Saturday exam. RBEF funding covers the cost of the exam for every junior, as well as score interpretation workshops that help students and families better understand results and plan for future academic success. COLLEGE FIELD TRIPS (4TH GRADE) The 4th Grade College Field Trip has quickly become one of the most meaningful and enthusiastically received experiences among students, parents, and staff. For many students, this is their first opportunity to step onto a college campus, explore the environment, and begin imagining themselves pursuing higher education. RBEF funds cover transportation costs for all fourth-grade students to participate in a guided tour of a four-year university within a 50-mile radius. By introducing college pathways at an early age, this experience helps students broaden their horizons, build aspirations, and understand that higher education is an attainable goal. The trip sparks important conversations about future opportunities and reinforces the message that college can be part of every student's journey. 20

RBEF-SUPPORTED PROGRAMS PATRICIA DREIZLER SCHOOL STEM & DISCOVERY EXPERIENCES (ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS) Alternative Education students have the opportunity to participate in enriching field trips to destinations such as the Petersen Automotive Museum, the Aquarium of the Pacific, Huntington Library, whale-watching excursions, and the Grammy Museum. These experiences extend learning beyond the classroom and deepen students’ understanding of science, history, culture, the arts, and music. Visits to places such as the Museum of Tolerance also encourage empathy, critical thinking, and meaningful reflection on the importance of respect, inclusion, and informed citizenship. Together, these opportunities support a well-rounded educational experience that nurtures both academic growth and personal development.

RBEF-SUPPORTED PROGRAMS CAREER DAY (9TH-12TH GRADES) RBEF is committed to fund the Redondo Union High School Career Day - a oneday event that opens doors, shapes perspectives, and leaves a lasting impact on our 3,000 high school students’ futures. The event gives students access to a broad, diverse pool of industry professionals, ensuring students are exposed to a wide range of career pathways they may not otherwise encounter. With over 200 speakers this year, this incredibly successful event expanded real-world learning opportunities, and helped students make more informed and confident decisions about their futures. As RBEF looks ahead to the coming year, we are energized by the opportunity to further our growth and deepen our impact. We aim to expand our support for Redondo Beach public schools through strengthened partnerships with local businesses and the introduction of new programs that benefit students and families across our community.
