ABOUT KULUIN Kuluin is located in the central Sunshine Coast and only a 5 minute drive to the Maroochydore CBD. Situated between two main precincts: Maroochydore and Kunda Park allows businesses to capitalise on the large surrounding catchment areas by giving a convenient location and avoiding the hustle and bustle. The area offers a range of commercial and residential benefits for the local community with very limited new opportunities as local land supply has been quickly absorbed. Accessed via Maroochydore Road, the area benefits from the main thoroughfare into the Sunshine Coast used by tens of thousands of vehicles daily. Located directly opposite Mcdonald's, the site gains significant exposure Monday to Sunday providing local businesses the opportunity to capture passing traffic whilst still maintaining an efficient and well run local retail complex. SOLAR FARM R E N E W A B L E E N ERGY INVES TMENT $ 1 0 MILLION INVESTME N T Sunshine Coast Council’s solar farm is assisting the transition to renewable energy that 40,000+ Sunshine Coast households have already made with rooftop solar arrays (add all the solar rooftops together and the Sunshine Coast has 124MW solar capacity – data from Energex). The Sunshine Coast Council hopes to leverage the solar farm to develop a ‘Clean Tech’ hub in the region. This hub provides opportunity to further develop this industry sector, encourage increased external investment in the region, and help drive increased and sustainable employment.
LIGHT RAIL PROJ ECT N E W LIGHT R AIL $2 BILLION INVESTMENT Mass transit is one of the major game-changing projects spearheading council’s plans to sustain the Coast’s prosperity, lifestyle and natural assets into the future. The light rail project, proposed to run between Maroochydore and Caloundra, would be up and running within a decade.
