CABOOLTURE HOSPITAL REDEVELOPMENT About the project By 2031, the population of Caboolture and surrounds is expected to grow by 51%. With all the extra people to care for, and with our hospital already near or at capacity most days, Caboolture Hospital must grow, too. The Queensland Government has committed $352.9 million to deliver 130 new beds and significantly expand services at Caboolture Hospital. Over the next four years, Caboolture Hospital will undergo a significant expansion and redevelopment. The Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment will include the construction of a five storey Clinical Services Building and a targeted refurbishment of existing spaces. A larger hospital requires more car parking and $41.7M has also been provided to deliver a new multi-story carpark. The design of the new clinical services building is expected to be completed in mid2020 with construction expected to start in mid-2020 and take up to three years to complete. The new building and car park will be built at the front of the hospital, between the existing hospital and McKean Street. New and expanded services The Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment is a complex mix of new build and a refurbishment of the existing facility and covers a total gross floor area of approximately 32,000m2.
New five storey Clinical Services Building • New and expanded Emergency Department • 20-bed rehabilitation unit • 10-bed palliative care unit • 14-bed geriatric evaluation and management unit • 32-bed medical ward • 10-bed Intensive Care Unit • 2 additional operating theatres and 4 stage one recovery spaces • 8-bed Cardiac Care Unit • 4-bed Chest Pain Assessment Unit and 16-bed medical ward Targeted refurbishment within existing hospital • Enhanced and expanded special care nursery with 15 bays • Medical day stay unit • Upgraded and expanded morgue • Expanded medical records facility, pharmacy and pathology • New main entry, café and visitor lounge

AREA OVERVIEW - CABOOLTURE WEST MASTER PLAN “Caboolture West is the new proposed location for the region’s next Master Planned residential community. The site has been declared as a Master Plan area by the State Government and work is underway on the planning framework. Council is presently in discussions with the State Government regarding the provision of infrastructure to service the development. It is anticipated that the area would have a 40-year development horizon and would ultimately accommodate up to 70,000 new residents. The area would include up to seven new suburbs, three high schools, nine primary schools and new commercial and industrial areas. The net benefit to the community from the development is expected to be in excess of $10 billion.”
