International Summer School Are you between 14 - 17 years old, and free during July 2020? Come to Ranum, Denmark and join our International Summer School, experience an amazing community with teens from all over the world.
Ranum International Spend a summer at Ranum International Summer School. You will have an amazing, fun and exciting summer holiday, while being challenged personally and academically. The time will fly! 2 or 4-week programme. You will have the opportunity to choose between many different and exciting academic courses and extracurricular activities such as sailing, dancing, gastronomy, music and design as well as try out other activities such as, football, canoeing, mountain biking, team-building, eSport and more. Excursions to local lakes, forests or the Limfjord will be part of the programme and we will visit museums, larger cities and other exciting attractions in the local area. Those opting for the full 4-week programme or the 2-week programme at the end of July, will also participate in a study trip to Copenhagen; the capital city of Denmark.
Teaching & classes Academic courses are taught in English and all participants will partake in English lessons during their stay. All participants will also choose between Danish, Science or UN Sustainable Development Goals as part of their academic courses during the summer school programme.
What you get Accommodation is in small studios with 3 to 5 room-mates, 3 delicious meals a day, free WIFI throughout the entire campus together with access to our extensive school facilities from gymnastic halls, sports fields, cinema, eSports, fitness room and much more. Academic courses All learners will attend English classes and have the option to choose between Danish or Science classes. English We offer an active and relaxing learning environment, where lessons are taught at different academic levels to match individual needs. Oral English and communication skills are our primary focus during this programme and participants will strengthen their vocabulary as well as their communication skills.
Science The Science class is comprised of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. We will focus on practical applied science by combining theory with among other experiments, excursions and real life examples. If you are curious about how nature works, please join this class.
Danish Is the Danish Royal family the oldest in Europe? How is Danish culture different from your culture? What does en, to, tre..mean? In the Danish class, you will not only learn practical simple Danish, but also gain a better understanding of Danish culture and history.
UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals Are you interested in human rights, sustainability and globalization? Make projects and discuss these matters with other young people, from all over the world.

Extracurricular activities You may choose one of the following per week Sailing
Gastronomy
Want to have close contact with the sea? If yes, then join the sailing class. You will learn how to steer a boat by sail and motor.
Danish cuisine is famous for its use of fresh local ingredients. Participants will have the opportunity to try out Danish dishes.
Water activities
Design
Try different kinds of water activities on the fjord or lakes, such as Wakeboarding and SUP boarding.
Danish design is worldrenowned. Learn how to design creations that come from your own imagination!
Music
Excursions
Can you play the guitar or piano? Do you have talent for singing? If you love music, join the music class.
For example to Viking heritage sites, cities of Aalborg or Viborg, the Energy Museum at Tange Lake and not least a trip to Copenhagen. Excursions are mandatory for all participants
Dance
Evening activities
Learn to dance. Following the lively music and cheerful rhythms, let your body and heart fly! If you are interested in dancing, join the dance class.
Beach-volleyball, football, biking, bonfire or a trip to the beach. Evening activities are optional for all participants

We expect active participation. Smoking, alcohol, violence and bullying are not tolerated. We expect students to use proper manners and have a good attitude. We do not tolerate any abuse of social media or computer games (other electronic devices). Beside your own travel insurance, scheduled activities are covered by the school’s liability and business insurance. For activities in the water, all participants will complete a swimming test prior to water activities Students are required to wear life vests / jackets for all water-related activities on open water.
