Separation under the same roof: a rapid review of separated couples living together, co-parenting arrangements and post-separation living situations.
This RANSW Rapid Review examines the prevalence of couples who remain cohabiting after separation, exploring co-parenting dynamics, impacts on children’s wellbeing, legal and family-law considerations, and practical support needs. Drawing on current evidence, policy implications and service responses are summarised to help practitioners, policymakers and families understand challenges and options for safe, healthy post-separation arrangements.
