Independence Day Sales Projected to Reach $200 Million in Nevada Nationwide Spending Expected to Reach $9.4 Billion As Nevada gears up for Independence Day celebrations, the Silver State is anticipating a festive kickoff to summer with an estimated $200.2 million1 to be spent on food, beverages and patriotic items for outdoor BBQs and other festivities, according to the Retail Association of Nevada (RAN). Across the United States, consumers are expected to spend $9.4 billion for Independence Day, according to a recent survey by the National Retail Federation (NRF). This marks the second-highest spending in survey history, following last year's peak. According to the survey, 87.0 percent of Americans plan to celebrate the holiday, with the average expenditure per person estimated at $90.42. When it comes to celebration plans, the most common activity remains a traditional picnic or BBQ, with 66.0 percent of respondents planning such gatherings. Additionally, 44.0 percent will enjoy fireworks or community events, 13.0 percent will attend parades, and 12.0 percent are set to travel or take a vacation. Moreover, 31.0 percent of respondents expressed intentions to purchase patriotic items to mark the occasion.
