Continuing Education Opportunities 2026-27 Students can take the following classes for FREE* in our Continuing Education department. Students only receive high school credit for some of these classes. Please check with your high school counselor for credit opportunities.

Certified Production Technician Discover the essentials of advanced manufacturing through our Certified Production Technician course. Covering industrial safety, quality practices, manufacturing processes, production techniques, and maintenance awareness, this course equips you with fundamental skills for a successful career in manufacturing. Learn about measuring equipment and preventive maintenance, gaining a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing production by course completion.

Collision Repair Discover and develop the skills needed to build a career in the transportation industry and learn about the diverse technologies associated with this dynamic and challenging field. You'll get detailed instruction in structure analysis, damage repair, non-structural analysis, mechanical and electrical components, plastics and adhesives, painting and refinishing techniques, and damage analysis and estimating.

HVAC 1 & 2 We offer two levels of HVAC training. In HVAC I (Fundamentals), you'll learn the skills you need to become employed as an entry-level assistant in the heating and air conditioning field, including operating principles, servicing, repairing, and installation. When you're finished with HVAC I, you can move on to HVAC II to further your knowledge and prepare for a NATE Ready-to-Work Certificate.

Pharmacy Technician Our Pharmacy Technician Program is a PTCB-recognized training program that prepares you to work alongside licensed pharmacists in a variety of settings. After completing the class, you’ll be ready to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) and begin working as a Pharmacy Technician I. A basic math placement assessment is required before registration.

EMT Basic Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) are often the first on scene, providing critical pre-hospital care. This course teaches the essential skills needed to begin a career in emergency medical services through classroom instruction and hands-on training. Upon successful completion, you’ll be eligible to take the state and/or national credentialing exam.

Firefighter Firefighters and rescue personnel can take certification courses offered primarily at local fire departments. Training is designed to help volunteers earn and maintain credentials while practicing on the equipment they use in the field. Specialized courses are also available to meet agency needs.

Phlebotomy Our Phlebotomy Program prepares you to collect blood specimens for testing and analysis. You’ll learn proper venipuncture techniques, patient communication, equipment use, and recordkeeping through classroom instruction and clinical experience.

Plumbing 1 & 2 Our Plumbing Program consists of two classes, Plumbing I and II. You'll learn various types and components of plumbing systems, design, installation, and OSHA 10. When you've completed both classes, you'll earn a local credential that shows local employers that you have the skills they are looking for.

Manicuring/Nail Technology If you love nail design or want to add manicurist certification to your resume, our Manicuring/Nail Technology Program is for you. Train in a simulated salon environment while gaining hands-on skills and industry knowledge. Graduates are prepared to take the North Carolina Cosmetology State Board Licensing Exam and pursue careers in salons and related businesses.

Small Engine Repair Want to be able to fix lawn or small farm equipment? In our Small Engine Mechanics class, you will learn about parts and operation of small gasoline engines such as those used on weed eaters, blowers, mowers, small tractors, and garden tillers, as well as basics of carburetion, ignition, tune-up, minor repair, and troubleshooting. When you're finished, you'll be able to sit for the Briggs and Stratton Basic Certification.

* Certain continuing education classes could have other costs involved involving supplies, testing, and insurance. Home-schooled and private school students must pay tuition for these classes.
