Proper Installation

Dig a 6” deep trench to prevent sediment flow underneath the fence. Unroll fence and drive stakes in center of trench to bottom of fabric. Make sure all stakes are on the down slope side of fence.

Mutual’s oriented polypropylene mesh is ideal for use on supported silt fence requirements. This incredibly strong yet flexible material is an accepted alternative by many state DOT in place of 14 or 12-1/2 gauge wire backing. Available in 30” x 500’ or 30” x 5000’ rolls.

Mutual offers 4’ T-post unpainted with no kick plate and 5’ or 6’ painted T-post with no kick plate for most wire back silt fence applications. 200 per bundle.

Mutual’s heavy duty steel posts are easy to install and are made of durable 13 gauge steel. They are rust proofed by phosphate etching and feature a green enamel finish. Each post has a stabilizing anchor plate, and comes in 5’ and 6’ heights. 150 per bundle.

Mutual’s pre-pocketed silt fence is Mutual’s 36” high MISF 180 fabric, with pockets sewn either 6 feet on center or 8 feet on center. It is available as prefabricated fence with stakes attached in 100 feet long rolls or without stakes attached in bulk 500 foot rolls.

Mutual’s Landscape fabric is a safe and effective way to stop weeds. This professional grade, spunbound material has a high strength to weight ratio, and maintains soil moisture as well. Available in convenient 3’, 4’, and 6’ widths in 300 ft. lengths for easy installation.

Mutual’s Floating Turbidity Barrier provides a restricted flow of silt laden runoff from construction sites. Turbidity barriers are highly effective in allowing silt and sediment to settle out before being carried into adjacent or adjoining waterways. Available in 60’ lengths.

Staked Turbidity Barrier Part# 3100-44 44” x 100’ Material Only Part# 3100-6-44 44”x 100’ 6’Centers Stakes Staked barriers are continuous panels of impervious vinyl-polyester fabric that, installed correctly, can contain storm water runoff or re-direct it to proper channels or retention areas. On-land installation is similar to that of silt fence, with 8 inches below grade and 36 inches above grade attached to stakes. Staked Barriers can also be installed in up to 18 inches of water. Mutual’s tree watering bag is used to water young trees or useful when planting a new tree. The bag distributes roughly 20 gallons of water around the base of a tree in 5-7 hour period. Minimum Order:

All products are combinable for pricing discounts. The dollar amount of your total order is used to determine individual product pricing. $300.00 minimum initial order is required to open a net 30 day account. Minimum $100.00 order for established accounts. All orders less than $100.00 are subject to a service fee as follows: Orders between $99.00 – $50.00 are assessed a $10.00 service fee. Orders $49.00 or less are assessed a $15.00 service fee.

Custom Products:

On special orders, Mutual reserves the right to ship and invoice ±10% of the ordered quantity. CUSTOM PRODUCTS ARE NOT RETURNABLE.

Payment Terms:

Invoice in full within thirty (30) days, subject to prior approval by Mutual of buyers credit. No CODs. VISA and MASTERCARD accepted. Amounts unpaid after thirty (30) days shall bear interest at the rate of 1% per month. Prices and specifications are subject to change by Mutual without notice to buyer. Mutual’s prices do not include Federal, State, or local sales, use, excise, or similar taxes. Buyer shall provide Mutual with a tax exemption certificate acceptable to the taxing authorities. No deductions on invoices will be accepted without prior approval from a Mutual Industries Customer Support Representative. Discrepancies must be reported in a timely manner to one of our internal Customer Support Representatives at 800-523-0888 prior to remittance of invoice. Any deductions taken without prior approval will not be honored.

Return Policy:

No returns shall be accepted by Mutual without a return authorization number. All products must be returned within ten (10) days of receipt of authorization number. Unauthorized returns will be refused. Authorization will not be given for items purchased over six (6) months previous. Buyer is responsible for all return freight and a 15% restocking charge. NO RETURNS shall be accepted by Mutual on custom manufactured products.

Factory Freight Policy:

A 5% freight allowance is given on orders of $2500.00* or more. Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada, a 5% freight allowance will be credited on invoice. All shipments are F.O.B. shipping point. Title and risk of loss for all products shall pass to buyer on delivery by Mutual to a common carrier regardless of the freight terms stated or method of payment for transportation charges. On orders less than $2500.00 and shipped by common carrier, freight will be collect unless verbally requested otherwise. UPS shipments will be prepaid and added to the invoice. Mutual reserves the right to choose a common carrier on a prepaid order.

WAREHOUSE FREight Policy:

This freight policy applies to standard warehouse stock items only. Non-stock items that must ship from factory are subject to freight charges regardless of total order amount. On orders of $2500.00 or more, a 5% freight allowance will be credited on invoice (in the Continental US, Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada). All shipments are F.O.B. shipping point. Shipment will be freight collect unless verbally requested otherwise. UPS shipments will be prepaid and added to invoice.

Lost/Damaged Shipments:

Buyer must notify Mutual of any shortages within five (5) days from the date the products were delivered to buyer. ICC regulations state that buyer is responsible for the following: (1) Inspecting shipment for lost or damaged merchandise, (2) Signing freight bill offered by the carrier as “short”, “damaged”, or “subject to further inspection”, (3) Obtaining signature of the carrier acknowledging lost or damaged merchandise, (4) Notifying Freight Company of the claim and requesting an inspector. Mutual Industries is unable to handle a claim for you, since all damage claims must be adjusted at the delivery point per ICC regulations.
