WHAT IS THE GOAL OF THE BENCH SEAT PROGRAM?
The Bench Seat Program is an opportunity for supporters to directly impact the success of Carolina Women’s Basketball. Gifts to the program provide critical annual resources beyond the team’s budget, while also building the Women’s Basketball Operating Endowment. Together, these two funding streams help meet immediate needs and strengthen the long-term foundation of one of Carolina’s most celebrated programs.
HOW IS THE DISCRETIONARY FUND USED?
Each year, the Bench Seat Program provides flexible funding that is made available to the head coach. These resources help address key priorities identified by the coach and approved by the athletic director, ensuring the team has what it needs to be champions.
HOW IS THE OPERATING ENDOWMENT USED?
Gifts to the Bench Seat Program may be invested in the Women’s Basketball Operating Endowment. This principal-protected fund generates annual support while building long-term financial stability. Earnings from the endowment are made available to the head coach to advance her vision for the program — today and the future.
