BEQUEST An estate gift to The Rams Club allows a donor to have a lasting impact – ensuring that Carolina’s athletics programs continue to flourish and that opportunities for our student-athletes continue to be a priority. You can often do more than you thought possible by including The Rams Club in your long-term plans while achieving your own personal and financial goals. Estate gifts are simple to establish and allow you financial flexibility to adjust your plans depending on your needs. Your support will leave a legacy that benefits Carolina Athletics and our student-athletes for generations to come. Types of Bequests

If you have The Rams Club listed as a beneficiary of your estate, please share your plans with us so that we can ensure that any future proceeds support Carolina Athletics’ priorities that are most important to you. We would also like to thank you for including us in your plans and welcome you as a member of Carolina Forever. How do I set up a Charitable Bequest to Carolina? The Rams Club and Carolina’s Office of Gift Planning welcome the opportunity to help you think through the details of your bequest. Cathy Carter Morris has had a lifelong passion for the Tar Heels. “I have loved Carolina for as long as I can remember,” said the 1977 graduate. That passion can be seen in the stands cheering on her Heels, in the way she supports student-athletes and coaches as a donor to numerous initiatives, and through her past service on boards and advisory groups for The Rams Club. As a volunteer leader with The Rams Club, Cathy has seen first-hand the challenges the athletics program faces in meeting the needs of our student-athletes – as well as the opportunities that are there to ensure their Carolina experience is outstanding. “I have had the great fortune to not only see our student-athletes compete, but to meet and interact with several of them over the years,” she said. “I am continually impressed by how they accomplish so much while on campus and also when they leave Chapel Hill.” Cathy believes that giving back is important. She has participated and continues to participate in numerous projects, including scholarship support, facility campaigns, operating endowments, the FORevHER Tar Heels initiative in support of women’s athletics, and more. As she looked at how she can make a lasting effect, she decided an estate gift through a bequest in her will would be a great way to provide support. “I know our gifts can make an impact on them. I hope with an estate gift I can continue to make that impact long after I am gone.” And in so doing, Cathy has ensured her lifelong passion for the Tar Heels will continue in perpetuity.
