I was in class one day, incredibly bored, waiting for the next professor, who seemed to have forgotten that he was supposed to teach our group today. I'm a third-year Psychology student, and the professors' lack of enthusiasm makes me think I chose the wrong degree.
Since I didn't know what to do, I opened my phone and thought about downloading some silly game. I was looking for something like SIM cards, and somehow a list of dating apps popped up. I'd heard about them, and I know some friends have met people that way. I'm not looking for a partner, but I would like to find a friend who'd give me a gift. Anyway, I installed the usual ones: Badoo, Tinder, and Meetic.
I uploaded the photos I have from last summer, mostly in bikinis or showing a lot of skin. And I added a short bio to encourage people to talk to me. In the description, as if the photos weren't enough, I wrote that my name is Gloria,
I'm blonde, blue-eyed, 5'3", 34-23-34, and that I like to meet up.
On the bus ride home, I opened one of those dating apps. I already had a message. It was from a guy offering to be my guinea pig for some kind of massage, and that he'd pay me for it. The whole thing was kind of shady. The guy, cleverly, had included his phone number in the text. Since I had nothing better to do, and the money sounded good, I added him on WhatsApp. His profile picture was of a guy in his forties, wearing athletic clothes on a basketball court.
I checked his profile on the dating app; it was the same guy, and there were more interesting photos, in swimwear. He was good-looking, bald, but athletic.
I messaged him through the app and asked him to tell me more. He replied shortly after. He was offering me $50 for a massage…
