One of the leading student transportation solutions provider, First Student, has spent years curating the very best products to bring the Connected Highway vision to the education industry. In doing so, First Student has successfully transitioned thousands of districts all over the US to include centralized vehicle telematics and student tracking integrated into their buses. The entire workflow centers around in-cab tablets, tailored software, and RFID technology. In order to enable this new system, First Student enlists the help of RAM ® Mounts, Samsung, and student tracking software like SMART tag ™ , TylerTech, and EDULOG.

In order for First Student to deploy telematics solutions, they needed secure vehicle docks with a reliable connection to power and peripherals. RAM ® Mounts recommended the game-changing GDS ® Tech ™ system. Known for connective longevity, First Student noticed the GDS ® system performed better than conventional mounting solutions. This was due to the protective and connective nature of a device wrapped with IntelliSkin ® , the component that allows GDS ® system to work. School buses being as dirty as they normally are, the IntelliSkin ® protects the device’s USB ports and converts the connection point to pogo pin contacts making it easier to clean and maintain charge upon docking.
