Rainbow River Simmentals 11th Annual Online Bull Sale

Page 1

Welcome

Welcome to our 11th Annual Online Bull Sale: Cow Family Edition!

It’s easy to give credit to sires each year by categorizing our sale bulls by sire group. But, what about the cows and cow families backing these bulls? This year I decided to take a different approach with our sale catalogue. It is time to give credit to our cow families by showing you our bulls from a maternal perspective.

As I began laying out the lot order for this catalogue, categorizing the bulls by sire groups as in previous years, it became evident to me just how prominent some of our cow families are in this year’s offering. Eight different cow families are featured with multiple bulls on offer from each cow family. A total of 31 bulls are on offer from these eight cow families. This was not intentional, but rather, an unintentional result of the fruits of my labour - of my focus on crafting and building our herd around some of the best, most productive and most consistent cows to grace our pastures. Now, in 2026, with our 11th annual sale, I’ve realized that the effort I’ve been putting into building our breeding program is finally coming together. Some, in part, due to my persistence with building a robust embryo transfer program, but other cow families run deep in our program not because one or more cows have been flushed, but because of their ability to withstand the true test of time. In turn, I feel that it only makes sense to highlight this year’s bull offering by cow family wherever possible!

All but 11 of the bulls on offer are categorized into a “cow family” in this catalogue. The remaining 11 bulls are “singles”, as in they do not have a direct maternal relative in the sale, but that’s not to say that these 11 bulls are not from prominent and productive cow families. They are. But I just do not have more than one of them on offer this year.

The cattle market has been almost unbelievable to experience first hand this year, hasn’t it? Now, more than ever, a live calf, a calf that gains well, and a calf that has some look is worth more than ever. Investing in a top quality herd bull to help elevate the quality of your calf crop has never been more important!

I believe that we have a bull in this sale for everybody. Plenty of calving ease with some being heifer safe. Performance cow bulls with growth and substance. Our bulls are always bred keeping the maternal aspect in mind, so many of these bulls are excellent options for retaining heifers and building a cow herd as well. As always, I am always available to help you sort through the offering, to narrow down some bulls that might be a good fit for your program. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me to chat or text about the offering, or better yet, please come visit us on the farm to see the bulls for yourself! They are always worth the drive to Fisher Branch.

Cheers, Jennilee

Why a Video Catalogue?

As you will see, we have decided to present our bull offering with a leading edge video catalogue again this year. We introduced our new catalogue concept two falls ago with our Female and Genetics Sale in November. Last spring, we introduced the concept to our bull sale customers as a trial run. We were very curious if the bull market would be as accepting of our idea as the female market has been.

Truth be told, we heard no concerns over the whole video catalogue idea. Canada Post has been so unreliable with mail delivery over the past few years that I think the industry has already been adapted to the idea of not having a paper catalogue to flip through. Nowadays with how technology has evolved, I truly believe that it is also time to modernize how we market our bulls. To my knowledge, we are the only breeding program that uses a

video catalogue of this kind to market our livestock, and honestly it doesn’t matter to me if more breeders start to follow our lead or not. We have paved the way for a different and better way to market our bulls, and it works for us, so we are happy to stick with it.

Why does it work for us? Here are our top three reasons why:

1) It allows us to separate bull sale prep from calving season January is always total chaos dealing with the craze of calving season. With a printed catalogue, we were struggling to be out in the picture pen in January, during the peak and busiest time of our calving season, trying to picture bulls for days. We do not have hired help to take over the calving barn while we picture bulls. I insist on maintaining control over the photos that I use to promote my bulls, so I am not keen on the idea of hiring a photographer. Don’t get me wrong, I have reached out to photographers before, but no one ever has time to make the trip to Fisher Branch. I’m just as happy to do the picturing myself anyway, but there had to be a way to spread out the work load because cramming bull sale prep into calving season was a sure way to burn ourselves out! To make January easier and allow us to focus on calving, the video catalogue allows us to push most of the catalogue production into February. We no longer need to worry about a printing deadline prior to February 1, so that the catalogue would be printed and put into the mail on time.

2) Forget photos - we want to skip straight to the good stuff

In the last few years, I have noticed a serious problem growing in the purebred business: excessive use of Photoshop. Some photographers are getting carried away with how much editing they do to pictures. Toplines are being redrawn, tail heads altered, briskets trimmed, heart girths, bellies and flanks pulled down, udders are being redrawn to make them look perfect, sheaths are being trimmed, crests are being exaggerated on bulls, heck even rumps are being drawn so that bulls look like they have a much bigger and rounder hip than they actually do.

I have always lived by the rule with photo editing that if I can fix it with a comb or with a set of clippers, then it is acceptable to fix it with Photoshop. Any editing outside of that should not be done. The problem is, when I adhere to that rule, then my bulls do not look as good as some of the competition whose pictures have been more heavily edited. Instead of jumping on the bandwagon and misrepresenting my cattle, I would rather cut out pictures and get straight to the good stuff. Go straight to videos. When I shop for cattle these days, I wait for videos to be posted because I hardly trust a picture in a catalogue anymore. I want to see how the cattle move. I want to see them from all angles. I want to see how they really look when they aren’t crafted to perfection within Photoshop. I want to see the real deal. The next best thing to seeing the cattle in the flesh. Videos are where it’s at.

3) Make more efficient use of our time

One thing that Dustin will attest to, is that I hate doing things twice. I’m a big believer in doing things right the first time and not wasting time doing something on repeat. Technically, taking a picture of a bull then recording his video are two different things. But, I always disliked how we would spend days on end in the picture pen taking photos of the bulls, just to turn around and run the bulls back through the picture pen again two or three weeks later to record their videos. It always felt like we were being repetitious with our time. Why not just condense the work load and do it once? Cut to the chase and just record the video? With the video catalogue, we only picture a handful of our top bulls, mainly for use in print promotion like a magazine ad or an e-blast. Otherwise, the majority of the bulls just get a video recorded, which helps streamline the time we spend in the picture pen.

HEALTH

All cattle have been on a total herd health program since birth. They have been vaccinated and treated with:

• Pyramid FP5 + Presponse in February and at weaning

• Tasvax 8 in February and May

• Fermicon 7/Somnugen at weaning

• Safe Guard oral paste at weaning

• Ivermectin & Clean Up II for external parasites in June and November

GESTATION LENGTH

• We use a 285 day gestation period.

• The heritability of gestation length is moderately high.

• Gestation length influences a calf’s BW and a cow’s calving interval.

• All bulls have their gestation length specified in this catalogue, including embryo transfer (ET) calves. However, keep in mind that the age and genetics of the recipient dam could influence the ET calf’s gestation length, making it a potentially inaccurate indicator of the ET calf’s actual inherited gestation potential.

GENETIC TESTING

• All bulls have homo polled and coat colour results specified in this catalogue.

• If their polled and coat colour status could not be determined through parentage, then DNA testing was performed to obtain their results.

• “Homo” is short for Homozygous, i.e.) Homozygous Polled

• “Hetero” is short for Heterozygous, i.e.) Heterozygous Polled

• A red animal born out of two black parents will be diluter free.

• All animals were DNA tested as per CSA requirements.

• This means that a minimum SNP parentage test was completed on all embryo transfer (ET) progeny to verify parentage.

• In most cases, non-ET (natural) progeny have not been parentage tested.

• It is the purchaser’s responsibility to verify which parentage test was completed, if any, on each lot purchased.

What do the results mean?

With the hype that Tangleflags has created over the past two years, it was an easy decision to lead off this year’s offering with his first sons, and an even easier decision to put 68N in as Lot 1! Marlee is one of our most elite cows and donors, being purchased from the Meadow Acres dispersal for $26,000 as a heifer calf, she has been consistent and impressive in production. Marlee is ideal in many ways, starting from her perfect, square hoof to her excellent udder, very docile disposition, fantastic maternal instincts at calving and her dark red colour. Her first daughter in the herd, Marlee 78L, is the best Impact daughter ever born here and in her first year of production, 78L weaned off our fourth heaviest heifer calf at 790 lbs in early September! Now this year, 78L has an impressive black, blaze faced Tangleflags bull at side. The Fornwald’s knew how special Marlee was when they dispersed, so when I sold Marlee’s first embryos, Kirsten purchased them to bring Marlee’s influence back into the DK program. The bull they got from those embryos sold for $17,000 in their bull sale last year. 68N will be Marlee’s next son to sell, but he is her natural calf that she raised last year. He boasts her dark, very strong feet, cherry red hair colour and quiet disposition, and carries himself with the extra look and presence of his sire. 68N has loads of natural muscle shape, plenty of dimension, is full through his heart girth and his neck ties in high out of his shoulder. He is sound on the move, combined with a look at me presence and that dark red colour that is hot in the industry today. 68N is an exciting Tangleflags option!

We have flushed and purchased a lot of high end embryos over the years, but Sprinkles has cemented herself as one of the most prepotent females to ever influence our program. She is now nine years old and hasn’t aged a day. Still walks around on absolutely perfect feet, with an excellent udder and very youthful appearance. It was a no brainer to flush her to Tangleflags when the first semen arrived here. We ended up with five bulls and five heifers that have been

standouts all year. Two heifers sold in our production sale in November, with the feature heifer going to Westman Farms for $11,250 and I am anxious to get the other three into production here. We have decided to retain our favorite bull from the flush, which should tell you how highly I think of this genetic combination. Take your pick from these four bulls, whether you want solid red or some chrome, they offer moderate birth weights in a moderate

framed package. All are equally quiet. 72N is good footed and the strongest footed of the four, taking after his dam in that way. He may also be the biggest framed brother, or at least tied with 70N for frame size. If you are a stickler on foot quality, then 70N is not your bull, but he is the darkest red and is awesome in every other way. 51N patterns the closest to the bull we are keeping and is darker red than 72N and 78N. 51N has two smaller socks on his back feet. 78N is soft and soggy, and has rounder muscle. His YW is low due to an injury he suffered earlier in January, which he has now fully recovered from. He doesn’t move as freely right now due to laying around during recovery, but his mobility should loosen up in time.

When Tangleflags sold for $210,000, only five exclusive semen shares were offered by the owners. We did not hesitate to secure one of them, and the only semen share in MB, even with a $30,000 price tag attached to it. Later that year, 45 doses of his semen sold at NYR for a record setting $2100 per dose! Our hefty $30,000 investment suddenly looked pretty smart as his first calf crop started to hit the ground. With limited semen released to us right off the bat, we reserved it for flushing and AI’ing a few of our most elite cows. Tamale has been an elite donor for us, so it was an easy decision to cross her this way. She has made a big impact on our program in a short amount of time. Purchased for $25,000 as an open yearling heifer, she was a must own for our program and has proven to be worth the investment. Her only imprefection is that she is a bit of a stingy donor, flushing low numbers most of the time. I will probably never sell any of her embryos for that reason, and so far her daughters are being held very tightly here as well. Her first daughters have entered production this year, three sired by Caliber and two sired by Mandate, and all of them are excellent. They all resemble Tamale closely and exemplify her finest traits. With that said, if you admire Tamale as much as I do, your best bet to incorporate her influence is through a son. We only got these two bulls from her initial flush to Tangleflags, but we flushed her a second time later that year and now have a few more bulls and heifers on the ground that were born in January. They are an exciting bunch for sure. Tamale has excellent foot structure and a beautiful udder, is elegant in her look but tanky and extra dimensional from all angles. A true model cow that we will continue to build around. She tends to pack some extra performance and shape into her offspring, and

puts nice hair coats on them as well.

Both of these bulls are standouts in the pen. The black bull is a little more refined than the red bull, he hits you hard with his extra look and presence. It is easy to envision what his daughters should look like. I think they will be every bit as feminine as Tamale herself. He is very attractive through his skull and front third, and extra extended from end to end, yet still stout hipped and soft made. 79N is correct on his feet and legs, and moves freely with ease. He is the only black Tangleflags bull on offer.

Your red option in 102L is also a very proud bull who carries himself well. He is even softer and soggier for that easy keeping ability, yet combines a stout build with a nice profile. So fluid in motion with a long reaching stride, he is very satisfying to watch on the move. Heavy haired and good footed, he is the biggest footed Tangleflags bull on offer and also the biggest framed, longest bodied and most powerful from his sire group. Both bulls are equally docile. Either way, having an elite dam like Tamale backing them will mean that their daughters will be worth holding onto.

This is the last Tanglegflags bull on offer and he comes to you from an elite cow family who needs no introduction in the Simmental scene. Born a twin to a heifer, his dam favored the heifer more than him. Normally, I always make the dam raise the bull calf and put the heifer onto a nurse cow, but in the heat of calving, I decided to pick my battles and put 28N on a new nurse cow. That cow raised three bull calves until March when we had to put her down due to an unforseen soundness issue, so we scrambled to find a new nurse cow in a hurry. We found one, but she was a lemon. She refused to take her three calves. We fought with her until pasture turn out then threw our hands in the hair and culled her. The three bulls were orphaned in early June. The other two bulls didn’t handle the summer nearly as well as 28N and they ended up getting castrated due to poor performance. But 28N was truly impressive and a sight to behold. I’m sure he must have stole his way through the summer, but regardless he really didn’t skip too many beats and still weaned off looking great by early September. His dam, Sage 15K, is a beautiful, moderate framed female that really needs an udpdated picture taken. She has a perfect udder that milks great. Her dam is our Sage 37F donor, who is a full sister to Betts and who is also the dam of our Sage 11H donor. 15K will be flushed down the road too, I’m already planning on that. 28N is a very typical Tangleflags son, hitting you hard with his style and that blaze face, thick hair, and extra stoutness and dimension. He has a lot of beautiful and productive cows backing him with Sage 37F, Sage 506C, Rock 14X and Rusylvia 46H loaded into his pedigree.

One of the most impressive bulls on offer and also one of the best Mandate sons born over the last three years. This awesome bull has excellent feet that come standard in the Mandate sons, plus great depth of body, muscling, genuine crest and masculinity with an attractive, herd bull head. All tied up into a performance oriented package, and backed by an outstanding cow family, this bull has a lot to offer. His quality is not a one hit wonder either, as his dam has worked very well with Mandate in the past. She raised a very nice full sister to 16N two years prior. That heifer, Sage 68L, was consigned to the Keystone Konnection Sale in 2023 and ended up being the high selling black heifer, going to LaBatte Simmentals. I like this cross so much that 37F was bred to Mandate for a third time last spring. 37F is a power cow who works very nicely with the calving ease that Mandate offers. She also raised our powerhouse donor, Sage 11H, who is the dam of Lots 10 and 11, and whose sons led off our bull sale with a bang last year. Power in the blood here. Predictability bred in. Take a good look at 16N.

Lots 10 and 11 are twin brothers who come to you from one of our most potent young donors. Their granddam is the dam of Lot 9. Sage 11H brings in some different blood being sired by the American bull, STF Crimson Tide. She is a big framed, long bodied, powerful cow with an excellent udder that milks well. She has been special since the day she was born. I knew early in her life that she would be destined for our donor pen and she tends to raise calves that are impressive through every stage of their lives, too. These twin brothers were a sight to behold when they were both at side of their beautiful dam. Sage could have handled raising both, but we lost a calf so grafted 13N onto the cow in need. It has been a toss up as to which bull I like more all year. 12N resembles Sage’s previous natural calf, Memphis 38M, that sold as Lot 1 in last year’s sale. Never have we produced a bull as impressive as Memphis, so we did retain semen from him and are utilizing him in our program. We have some of his calves on the ground now and it looks like the Tangleflags calves will have some stiff competition this year! We decided to show 12N at the MSA Summer Show last June. He earned the honours of Champion Bull Calf and overall Grand Champion Simmental Bull. 12N is the fancier, softer made, heavier haired option of the two, but you also can’t help but be drawn into the dark red colour and more rugged look of the 13N bull. 13N is also stronger footed than 12N. Walk The Line has produced good bulls for us over the years but we are all out of semen. We will continue to implant the WTL embryos that are in our frozen inventory, but the number of WTL bulls that we will have to offer will decline going forward. We only have two embryos left from this mating as well, so if you like this cross, it would be a good idea to grab one (or both) of these brothers now.

There’s lots to be said about that kind of track record. Her first son, Impact 4L, was our most popular bull two years ago. He was sought after by some of the biggest names in the purebred industry. While 4L was garnering all kinds of attention, we would tour the interested parties over to see 35J, and there standing beside her was 3M, the stout and very cool full brother to this bull. 3M was so impressive at a young age that we bred 35J back the same way to create 92N. I won’t lie, 92N was supposed to be a heifer! It is high time that 35J gives me a daughter and I would love one out of Caliber. 35J’s flush sister gave us a Caliber heifer a couple years ago. That heifer, a full sib in blood to 92N, is outstanding, especially now that she’s had a calf and is milking with a great udder beneath her. It just goes to show how predictable this Caliber x WTW x Sage cross is. 92N himself has also been a stand out all year. He sure looked good on pasture by August and is still one of our top picks from the Caliber sire group.

20N is catalogued with the Sage cow family because of his sire, Protest, who is a direct son of the legendary WFL Red Sage 506C. Protest will go down in our history as one of the most impressive bulls to ever walk here. He is perfect footed, docile and incredibly athletic for a bull with his mass and size. Protest saw heavy use last spring so we have our biggest set of his progeny on the ground right now. We have a nice group of his daughters in production and they are awesome. Excellent udders in every way and they milk very well. The dam of 20N came to us as a frozen embryo from the Lewis Farms program. 42F’s dam is one of the founding red cows at LFE, Amber 205T. 42F has put three bulls through this sale over the years and we’ve sold one daughter to ELD Farm in Ontario. Sons have sold to Darren Dietrich in SK, as well as Aaron Schmidt, and John and Sarah Bezemer in MB. 20N has big, excellent feet which he’s inherited from both parents and he has his daddy’s very attractive herd bull head. Since weaning, he has really shot up in frame size and is one of the biggest framed red bulls in the sale. Look to 20N to improve foot structure, increase frame size, add milk and correct udders. With being multi-generation dark red in colour, he should make his calves darker red too.

1N is arguably the most complete and impressive black bull on offer, and maybe the most impressive in the entire offering. He has been in a league of his own since he was a few weeks old. He has had that cheeky “look at me, I’m a herd bull” kind of presence about him all along. The width of top, overall stoutness and length of body that he demonstrated in the first few months of life landed him in my show pen in May. I wanted to show him alongside Lot 10 at the MSA Summer Show in June, but he wanted nothing to do with that halter breaking BS! He just was not interested in being a show bull, so he never did get his chance in the spotlight. He’s been a top gainer his whole life, checking in a YW of almost 1400 lbs at the end of January. His natural dimension and power combined with his herd bull presence guarantees that everyone who tours the pen finds him. He comes by this mass and impressive shape honestly, as it has been a staple in my Linette cow family for generations. I have invested in many of the industry’s leading cow families over the years, but I will still argue that you simply cannot go wrong with a Linette. They are hard to beat for their combination of calving ease, udder quality, milking ability and that extra shot of natural shape and capacity that they always add to the equation. The dam of 1N is a big framed, powerful cow who milks plenty and is a near replica of Linette 823U. She always weans off a heavy weight, guaranteed. A maternal sister to 1N, Linette 60G, is our only red Linette in the herd. She is a beautiful female who was flushed two falls ago. We will use her to expand our Linette cow family into the red side of our program going forward.

This is the second Mandate son on offer and just like Lot 9, he is also a stout, performance oriented meat machine, posting a YW of 1300 lbs at the end of January. He is also one of the biggest framed bulls on offer. 6N is super soft made and soggy, which is a consistent trait from this cow family that ensures easy keeping ability. Square toe shape is another trait that this cow family always breeds on. Combine that with Mandate’s excellent foot quality and I would expect 6N to be a foot improver. By breeding time last March, I was so impressed with 6N’s growth, natural shape and stoutness that I bred 68H back to Mandate for another full sib this year. 68H is a very special cow, not just because she is beautiful and knows how to raise a good one, but because she is the last calf that Linette 823U ever raised. I hope to flush 68H sometime in the future because she is the type of cow that I would like many more of. 823U will always be cherished as one of the most impressive and consistent donors to ever grace our program. That consistency is prepotent in her daughters. They are excellent, all around cows that are like peas in a pod. You cannot go wrong with a bull out of a Linette cow. Even better, this Mandate x Linette cross just flat out works.

My Linette 53F cow, who is a Riddler x 823U female, has an outstanding Mandate heifer in our replacement pen and another replica born this year. A Mandate x Linette 54H was also a highlight in this sale two years ago.

Calving Ease. This is a really good heifer bull that will be a sleep easy sire yet produce calves with some serious look and daughters that will be replacement worthy! 23N is double bred calving ease with my bomb proof Walk This Way x Impact cross. The dam of this bull is small but mighty, with an awesome udder that milks very well and she walks on perfectly made, square toed feet. She has that signature Linette foot that I talked about in the last footnote, only bred in even stronger from her sire, Impact. 9K’s first calf was a gorgeous True North heifer that was show worthy. Unfortunately we lost her last fall, but she would have had a promising future. 23N is 9K’s second calf, and this year she calved early in January again, this time to Caliber. The granddam of this bull, Linette 54H, is one of my favorite Linette cows in the herd. She is more moderate in stature but so beautifully constructed, with that typical Linette rib shape and capacity. She is currently standing in my donor pen with a very cool Boomer bull calf at side, and she also put a top end Caliber heifer in my replacement pen last year. 23N has always been striking in appearance, with his clean lines, correct structure and effortless motion. He is smooth shouldered yet thick and soft made like all of the Linette descendants, plus nice headed and great haired. With his small 78 lb BW and top 5% CE and BW EPDs, he is designed to calve like a dream on heifers yet put some thickness, look and hair in his calves. His smaller frame size will also make him an ideal heifer bull for years to come.

Calving Ease. We have had so much interest in heifer bulls this year. Right now, while cattle are worth such a premium, putting a top end calving ease bull on your heifers will pay dividends. If you’re looking for a pair of bulls to let loose into your heifer pen, this bull would match up very nicely with Lot 16. 22N has been catching my eye since he was a baby. Like Lot 16, his clean lines and balanced structure, nice head and hair quality are all valuable attributes that give him extra eye appeal. He is smooth made yet still has adequate depth and thickness so that your heifers can raise you calves that actually look like something at the end of the day. He is smaller framed so I would expect him to stay a useful size for breeding heifers for years to come. 22N has a wee 71 lb BW and ranks in the top 2% for CE and 3% for BW. His sire, Preacher, is a new sire that we had the opportunity to secure some semen on. He sold for $42,000 to Mappin Simmentals and is sired by the female maker, Reddington. This is the first calf crop from Preacher and he calved way more easily than we ever expected. The docility in the Preacher calves has been excellent too, with a few of them being extra friendly. 22N’s dam, Cinder, is a beautiful female with a perfect udder. She is still in production at 11 years of age, raising me a black baldy Caliber heifer that looks good. Cinder’s flush sister, Classy 5C, is one of our most beautiful and popular cows, and is the dam of Lot 19. 22N has a lot of excellent maternal traits bred into him. The odds are stacked in his favour for becoming a bull that will produce beautiful replacement heifers in addition to calving like a dream.

The dam of this bull is a sister to Lot 17. She is a nice sized, docile, Supercharged daughter with a great udder and a splash of white on her forehead. 115N should breed his blaze face on as it is stacked several generations deep on both sides of his pedigree. He is an eye catching bull, when he strikes a pose he always commands attention. I really like the Neva 89B cow so I bought several recips at the Spring Creek dispersal that were carrying Estate x Neva pregnancies. We retained the sire of 115N sire to use as a clean up bull in his first breeding season and froze some in-herd semen before sending him to his new owner. I also have two Estate x Neva flush sisters working in the herd right now. They worked their butts off and both raised big, impressive calves in 2025 as first calf heifers. They look to have a promising future here.

45N’s dam is our gorgeous and ever popular Classy 5C cow who has put many top bulls and heifers through our sales over the years. We sold a beautiful full sister to 45N in our production sale two falls ago, Classy 22M. That heifer is now working for Section 17 Livestock in SK. She also has daughters working for Crooked Creek Farms, MB and Swanz Ranch in Montana. The only other son that Classy has produced to date, a Riddler son that was very similar in type to 45N, sold to Randy Geisler. Randy’s feedback on that bull has been very positive, saying that he has produced beautiful females. I would expect the same from 45N. You will also appreciate 45N for his extra length of body and docile disposition, which are traits that have come pretty standard in Classy’s progeny. Classy is a full sister to the dam of Lot 17 and the dam of Lot 20. They are flushmates from the Linne 6R donor. Classy is now 11 and has been one of my most reliable cows every year. She has always calved in January to an AI service and has never skipped a beat in production. As a proven cow that is beautifully youthful in design and very sound in structure, Classy will likely get flushed here in the next year or two before she gets too much older. The only reason we haven’t flushed her to date is because she is hetero polled. However, I feel like that’s a pretty lame excuse when she produces and looks as good as she does. Just look at how good 45N is and he came homo polled! In his contemporary group, 45N was the fifth highest gaining bull at weaning time and the sixth highest gainer for YW, posting a

105 in both cases. Performance, phenotype and maternal. He has a lot to offer!

10N is a big framed bull with extra stretch and good performance that will cover cows easily and serve to increase frame size in his progeny. Once you stop to analyze him, you will appreciate him more and more. You will realize that within his large frame, he is actually a very deep bodied bull, and because he is also so long, there is actually more to him than what you might think on first impression. Every year I get calls from a handful of ranchers, particularly from the US, looking for these large framed bulls. Some guys tell me they want them “as big as I can make them”. While my goal is not to produce frame score 7 bulls, I do believe that 10N and one other Caliber bull in the offering, Lot 38, could fit the bill for anyone looking for an extra big framed bull. Lot 20 and Lot 38 match up really well, even with their performance data and ratios being very similar their entire lives. The Lot 15 Mandate bull is also very close in frame size. 10N earned himself an adjWW ratio of 104, ranking 10th in his contemporary group. For adjYW, he ranked 3rd with a ratio of 110. This bull’s maternal brother was also a bigger framed bull in our sale last year, so it seems that the dam of this bull tends to add frame size to her progeny. I purchased 42B a few years ago and she has only produced bulls for me to date. I am waiting on a daughter, but her sons have been consistently good and marketable. We sold a Tycoon son out of 42B three years ago that was a feature bull. The feedback on him has been excellent, with his owners describing him as “maybe the best bull we’ve ever ran around here”.

I purchased her privately as a proven donor five years ago. When I laid eyes on her for the first time, I had to own her. Her sire being the female maker, All In 155Y, is also one of her best attributes. She came to me pregnant with the dam of Lot 23 and has since produced two more beautiful Mandate daughters that sold as features in our annual production sales. One sold to Section 17 Livestock, SK and the other to Cossette Simmentals, QC. Crossing Caliber on Amanda was done with a focus on producing another special female. These bulls were supposed to be heifers, but my loss is your gain. They will make nice females and add some length and frame, too.

100N is a personal favorite and I think he is one of the best black bulls in the offering. He is the only Heavy Hitter son we had born last year, but he is the right kind. I only have three HH calves but the ones I got have blown me away. This bull has been a stand out his entire life. So much rib and capacity, early maturity, extra masculinity. He weaned off at 916 lbs with an adjWW ratio of 111, and continued onto an adjYW ratio of 116, making him the #1 heaviest YW bull out of his 28 contemporaries. The two heifers I have in my keeper pen are flat out impressive. They have tremendous feet and udder development, and I love the extra spring and boldness of rib that HH has bred into them. It has been quite a few years since I have found a bull that will add rib shape like he has. I am so impressed with this sire group that I just purchased more HH semen to use him more heavily going forward. I believe he breeds the right kind of cattle. Take a good look at 100N. Power, capacity, growth and substance without sacrificing soundness. His little dam, 52J is a smaller cow but man can she produce. Her first calf was a big, powerful Impact bull but we lost him to injury before we could sell him. Her second calf is a beautiful Caliber daughter that is at the very top of my two year olds.

These flush brothers are the first ET sons we’ve ever offered from our matriarch, Dream 3A. She is 13 years old and still in production with a beautiful Protest heifer at side. The decision to flush Dream was made a few years ago when we recognized her as one of those good old trusty cows. The ones that never have issues, just do their job quietly and do it well. She has always been totally sound and very fertile. She always breeds her dark red colour onto her calves and adds her extra rib shape and capacity. Her cow family goes way back to the JDN Prairie Tiara 24M cow that my dad purchased from the KLC Simmentals Dispersal back when I was in my second year of university. Seems like such a long time ago. That would be 21 years ago that this cow family got established in our program. For a cow family to withstand the test of time like this one has, you know they must be doing something right! We have flushed Dream many different ways and look forward to continuing to implant her embryos over time. This flush to Mountain View was done to create the darkest red progeny possible. Mission accomplished! Of course, I was hoping for heifers but only got bulls. These bulls will work great to maximize tan hided calves in a Char based cow herd, or to make your reds darker. 62N and 99N are very similar in type. 99N is a quiet bull that likes to come over for attention. He has been a good gainer with WW and YW ratios of 105 and 109. 62N’s performance wasn’t far behind. Both show lots of masculinity and were early maturing. If you believe in the old theory of “Bonsma” selection, their reverse wedge shape could signify that these two bulls will be highly fertile.

Preacher’s dam brings the dark, dark red into the top side of 97N’s pedigree, plus the dark red colour will be locked into the bottom side through Tycoon and the Dream cow family. Preacher also adds a lot of maternal strength through Reddington and the beautiful Amber 60G cow, so I expect 97N’s daughters to have some potential. Much like the Dream cow family, our Whisper cow family was also established with a cow that my dad purchased from the KLC Simmentals Dispersal in 2005. So, this time on the black side of things, we have bulls coming to you from a cow family that has withstood 21 years of selection pressures. Their secret? Soundness. Foot quality. Milking ability. Udder quality. Overall maternal strength. Fertility. And, let’s face it... the fact that they weren’t afraid to produce daughters! The Whisper cow family is part of what we lovingly refer to as our “Blackie” cow family. KLC Miss Bring 321N was the original “Blackie” cow, and she earned that name because she was literally the only black cow in my dad’s herd at that time. She was the first black cow on the place, the O.G., the founder of our black breeding program! It’s kind of cool when I look back at how this cow family has grown over the years. I did flush 321N years back and still have her embryos in the tank. Her best daughter, Whisper 76T, was also flushed and I still have a few embryos in the tank as well. 76T was the granddam of 16D, who is the dam of this bull. Whisper 16D has been a reliable cow. She has put some top bulls and heifers through our sales over the years. I really wanted a heifer from this mating to Caliber, so I think 31N has the potential to breed some good females for his new owner. He is a moderate to bigger framed bull with lots of length but is still nicely put together. The Caliber progeny are very quiet, as is 16D, and this bull is no different. He was a twin to another nice bull, but his twin got hurt on summer pasture and had to be steered.

Calving Ease. 95N is another fancy calving ease option that I would consider borderline heifer safe. Depending on the size of your heifers and how much calving ease you already have bred in, he could work in that way. I would more confidently suggest him as a good calving ease option for second calvers and well developed first calf heifers, but he could prove to be heifer safe down the road. He was a twin to a heifer, so his tiny 71 lb BW is small partially because of that. His BW EPD is at the top 10% of the breed, but his CE EPD is only at the top 20%, so that’s why I hesitate to call him full fledged heifer safe. I would like to see that CE EPD a little higher in a perfect world. We used his sire, Kaboom, on heifers without any issues, this being his first calf crop. 95N himself is not coarse in any way and has a nice, slender head, but he still has some natural thickness and shape to him. I have always liked his smooth, attractive profile. His dam was an excellent footed, big framed, big bodied, power type Witness daughter who now works for Ryan King, SK.

These flush brothers come to you from a set of embryos I purchased from Horner Cattle Co. I had been watching the productivity of the Bretta 461H cow for a couple years and really liked how she produced. When the opportunity presented itself to pick these embryos up, I seized it, in hopes that I could start my own Bretta cow family here. As my rotten luck would have it, every embryo resulted in a bull. Of course! A flush sister to these bulls sold in December for $23,500. Their maternal sister who is probably gaining traction as the most famous Bretta right now, has been shown many times and is always very successful. When she sold as a calf a few years ago, she brought $28,000. No Limits is a power bull and I think that combining him with Bretta 461H creates some interesting genetic packages in these three bulls. 52N is impressive in the flesh. He is a beast. A truck. However you want to describe him, he is big time. His massive depth of rib and capacity is unique and makes

RAINBOW RIVER NO LIMITS 103N

him stand out in the pen. 103N is the fanciest of the three. Not as massive and powerful as 52N, but nicely balanced, soft made, strong topped and good haired. I don’t know why, but the bulls in the pen started picking on him in early February so we had to pull him before he got injured. He lost a lot of weight, and had rebounded quite a bit by video day, but still didn’t look his best. He has been popular amongst vistors all year so if you can make the trip here before sale day, please come see him in the flesh. He is good! 117N is the red baldy option that is as long as a train with WW and YW ratios of 111 and 104. Length pays and in today’s market, his calves will generate a quick ROI.

Here is another No Limits son that comes to you from a pack of embryos that I purchased. I had the same goal in mind as with the Bretta embryos - start a new cow family! But nope, this bull is the only calf I have from those embryos, so my loss is your gain! This bull is good footed and very quiet. He got handed the short end of the stick with having a poorer milking recip dam. A different recip would have made a big difference with his performance up to weaning time. He looks very similar to the Lot 31 bull, so much that I usually need to read their tags to tell them apart. If you want to run a nice pair of bulls together, Lot 31 and 33 are paternal brothers and match up well! 118N is backed by the highly productive RF Sheila donor who is also the mother of the $240,000 Capital and more recently, a $70,000 daughter that sold at FNL in December. If you want to retain females to build a herd around, this bull would fit the bill. I have seen the dam of No Limits in the flesh as well. She is also a lovely cow with an excellent udder and it seems that she doesn’t know how to fail in production. The heifer calf she had at side when I saw her was impressive. 118N reads with a highly maternal pedigree plus has a very useful set of EPDs with green across the board.

This Kaboom son has really developed nicely and is a stand out in the pen. He is the right size, clean in his lines and structurally correct. We mainly used Kaboom on heifers but also a few select homo black cows where I wanted to maintain the homo black colour. His dam is a cow that I had purchased as a calf from the R Plus dispersal and she now works for TJ Walkem in BC. She had a very tightly suspended udder and offered a touch more frame than the average cow in our herd. She offers a totally different pedigree from mainstream genetics, and so does 61N’s sire, Kaboom. Therefore, 61N offers a lot of mating flexibity due to him having a nicely outcrossed pedigree. He also has a useful set of EPDs that describe him as being a curve bender type, with higher calving ease combined with higher performance.

HOOK’S

Calving Ease. 65N is the last Kaboom son on offer and also the last black calving ease option. This bull should work on heifers with his 85 lb BW and EPDs in the top 5% for BW and top 15% for CE. He is a small framed bull which will make him a good option for use on heifers, and he should maintain a smaller frame size so he doesn’t outgrow his job in the heifer pen too soon. 65N is most impressive from the hind view. He is super thick hipped and is one of the thickest bulls in the pen. He offers a more outcrossed pedigree with most of this lineage being free from mainstream genetics, yet his pedigree is packed with beautiful donor cows from top to bottom. His dam is a larger framed Yuma daughter that came to me as a frozen embryo from the Rancier Farms program. Her dam is the impressive Milestone x Flirt donor, who is as wide as she is long. I think I know where 65N’s thickness comes from!

Calving Ease. This is one of the most impressive bulls in the offering and was a serious contender for Lot 1. A standout from early in life, at just a few weeks of age his presence and next level growth was obvious. 2L did a great job raising him, plus cycled early and rebred by AI to give us a Caliber heifer in early January that is also very impressive. 2L comes from our highly productive Morgan cow family. Her dam 36E, was a big ribbed, good milking cow and 36E’s flush sister, 24E, was also one of our top bull producers. Unfortunately, we lost 36E to an injury, but flushed her before culling her, and 24E cast herself two summers ago. The torch has been handed to 2L and it looks like she’s up for the challenge to carry the Morgan cow family forward! 130M strutted around summer pasture with maturity that made him look like a mini herd bull. His extra length of body coupled with a very strong topline, his thick, round hip, and his masculine head were his main features that always drew me in. His phenotype in itself has been enough to set 130M apart from the pack his entire life, but knowing that he also started out at only 75 lbs, with a short gestation coming 6 days early, and being out of a Mandate daughter who also came small and 8 days early, just solidifies how truly special this bull is as a curve bender, heifer safe, calving ease option. That short gestation is the key to calving ease and 130M has it stacked three generations deep. Weaning off his two year old dam at 934 lbs (in a drought) meant that he out gained most of the performance bulls in the offering, coming in as the fourth heaviest in the entire group of 47 bulls, and being only 12 lbs lighter than the heavy weight! He has maintained himself as one of the heavy weights since weaning, as well. His EPDs match his real data as they are in the green across the board, with CE and BW at the top 10% and 5%. For me, the most intriguing part of this bull right now is how closely he resembles our $160,000 Mandate when Mandate was this age. Looking at 130M in the pen today, I see his grand daddy almost to a tee. It’s pretty neat!

Calving Ease. 66N is our one and only red heifer safe option this year. We have had so much interest for red heifer bulls, I wish I had ten more like him. This bull is the real deal as far as a sleep easy heifer bull goes. First of all, his dam. She is the impeccable Lass 84H donor that entered our donor program immediately after buying her at the Spring Creek dispersal. Her udder is show ring perfect, with perfect suspension, teat size and placement. At the same time, she milks heavily and has the maternal ability to do a good job raising a natural calf. Her dark cherry red colour combined with her baldy face and elegant design make her a show stopper. A cow that anyone would love to own a son from. When I bred her to Preacher, I was thinking maternal and colour. I wanted to stack up all of Lass’s awesome traits with that of Preacher’s lovely dam, plus the milking ability and impeccable udder quality that Reddington puts in his daughters, and lock in that dark red colour. Never did I expect Preacher to end up calving as easily as he did, though! Lass’ sire, Fireball, also seems to add some calving ease to the equation, and through all of the flushing that I have done with her over the last few years, it has become evident that Lass breeds on more calving ease than her EPDs suggest. When you analyze 66N’s structure, he is smooth made from end to end. Clean in his lines, with a more slender head, nothing large or bulky about him. He screams heifer bull physically and on paper. Just a 76 lb BW, EPDs in the top 3% for CE and 10% for BW, plus his MCE EPD is also at the top 3%. He might be our only red calving ease option, but he is a good one!

2N was the heavy weight at weaning time, coming in at 946 lbs in early September. He ranked 7th out of his contemporaries with an adjWW ratio of 104, and for adjYW, he ranked 4th with a ratio of 108. He is a large framed, long bodied bull that will serve to increase frame size. If you are wanting to run of pair of big framed half brothers together, then also check out Lot 20. He is the other big framed black bull in the offering. They match up very well in many ways. Even their performance ratios are neck and neck for both WW and YW. 2N is out of a tanky, big bodied, moderate framed Riddler daughter that has excellent feet and milks well. The last son 49G raised was a sale feature three years ago, a Supercharged son who sold to Bonniedoon Simmentals, MB. Her dam is the Blacksand Linnette 934W donor who was a very productive and popular donor years back. You can very much see 934W’s stamp on 49G. We’ve had very good luck with our Riddler daughters. They have been some of our most reliable cows in the herd over the past several years. Adding Caliber into this Riddler x Rose genetic combination only solidifies the maternal strength. We are thrilled with our first Caliber daughters who entered production this year. They all have gorgeous udders and milk just the right amount. I don’t think anyone could have too much Caliber influence in their cow herd.

Here is another bigger framed Caliber option. His full brother was a sale feature and one of my personal favorites in last year’s sale, selling for $12,850 down to Cross S Simmentals in North Dakota. Much like his brother, 64N has to be appreciated for his extra length of body. In today’s booming market more than ever, pounds pay and length of body is the easiest way to add extra pounds into a calf crop without sacrificing calving ease. 64N’s cow family is known for tremendous foot quality, strong udders and good milking ability. His dam is one of my favourite Impact daughters in production. She is feminine, sound, works her butt off every year and still rebreeds early. I really like the Caliber cross on her and for the third consecutive year, she has a Caliber calf at side again, but this time it’s finally a heifer! The 8Z cow raised us a beautiful Kaboom heifer last year, at 13 years of age. Her dam, the old 6P cow, was in production here until 14 or 15 years of age as well. The Tuition cow family has been in our herd for 20 years, originating with the College Tuition 6P cow who my dad purchased when he was just starting to venture into the black Simmental world. 20 years later, we have many Tuiton females in the herd and they are one of our most reliable, fertile and top producing cow families. I don’t know if I’ve ever sold a Tuition female - I hoard them all and hold them in high regard.

109N is smaller framed and as dark red as they come. He might be the earliest maturing bull in the offering. I caught him breeding my show heifer in early August, and he was going about it like a seasoned herd bull. I normally don’t run heifer calves with bull calves, but my show heifer was kept close to the yard, so I ran her with my donors. 109N is the natural calf off our newest red donor that we acquired for $21,000 from the Rendezvous dispersal in 2024. He came in-dam when I bought Mandy 417H, and is also a full brother to Mandy 651M, who we also purchased. I flushed 417H a few different ways last year and look foward to getting her infuence started here. She is a beautiful cow that looks exactly like her photo. We have 8 ET Red Wood x Mandy 417H calves on the ground right now that are exciting. 651M also has a nice, dark red heifer calf at side. She calved early and has a great udder that milks well.

RAINBOW RIVER GLACIER

The Western Star females were an impressive sire group in the Rendezvous herd. Big, powerful, correct cows with excellent feet and udders. Probably one of the best sets of cows I’ve seen. 252D was my pick of all the Star females and I’m thrilled to have her here. She was a very productive cow in the Rendezvous program, putting a $16,000 son through the dispersal and a $12,500 son in their 2023 sale. She is half fullblood and a highly maternal mother. These fullblood influenced purebreds are in high demand right now, so take a good look at 149N. 252D must have slipped her January breeding after going to pasture and got rebred for March, because she sold as being bred to calve in January. She had always calved early in prior years and guess what? She pulled herself ahead and calved Feb 1 this year. She’s back on track and a cow that we intend to flush in the near future.

Our one and only Navajo bull on offer and I wish we had a lot more. The only other Navajo bull that we’ve had born here was one of our high sellers last year, selling to Keplinger Farms in West Virginia for $11,000. Unfortunately, this is the last Navajo son we will ever sell as Navajo was lost to an untimely injury a couple springs ago. Navajo was a great bull and we are thankful for the daughters that we have retained, one of which is a highlight in our heifer pen this year. 148N is a personal favorite in the offering. He is a very docile and friendly bull that has always been my buddy. He has very strong feet which he has inherited from both his sire and dam, and is nicely balanced in his structure. He is a youngster, but his growth over the past year has been great. He has been a steady, top gainer earning himself the #1 ranking position for adjWW with a ratio of 115, and holding steady through to YW, he also had an adjYW ratio of 115 which ranked him #2 out of his contemporaries. I selected his dam from the Creekside Simmentals dispersal in 2024. She was one of my top picks from their herd and one of the lead off cows in their dispersal. The sale was in May, so she came to me with a whopping big, stout traditional steer calf at side which, in my opinion, was every bit good enough to be a bull! She has a very good udder that is tightly suspended and milks very well. She had previously calved in January in the Creekside herd and had sold through their dispersal as being early bred as well, but the stress that comes along with transport and an auction sale can cause early term embryonic loss, and a few of the cows slipped their pregnancies a few days after arriving at our farm. Navajo got them rebred right away, but that is why 148N is a March born. There is so much demand for these traditional and fullblood influenced bulls right now. One that is this complete with a very honest and productive dam backing him, plus having the famous Pocahontas 2Y as his granddam, makes for an intriguing breeding piece that would be an asset to the program who invests in him.

SEMEN IS STORED AT BOW

Like last year, we will round out our sale with our annual offering of Mandate semen. If you’re wanting to break free from mainstream and get some different blood into your breeding program, here is your chance. Mandate is the $160,000 outcross, foot improver, curve bender option that has been proving his worth more and more with each calf crop. His third set of sons sell in this sale and if you’ve been paying attention over the past three years, it should be obvious how sound, docile, deep bodied, big nutted and fertile he makes them. When his first set of bred heifers hit the sale scene in 2024, he proved his ability to sire the right kind of females as well, with his three highest selling daughters fetching $17,000, $14,500 and $9500. The Mandate’s are like fine wine. They just keep getting better and better with age. His daughters milk very well and outdo themselves, raising some of our biggest and most impressive calves as first calf heifers. Mandate works great on power cows and heifers, and in my experience, he is much more heifer safe than his EPDs suggest. We’ve used him on heifers since the beginning with not one assist. They are born small, easy, come early and are extremely vigorous.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE WHY WE CHOOSE FARM GATE

1.Visit dlms.ca and follow the link to the DLMS FarmGate timed auction site www.farmgatetimedauctions.ca, click the LOGIN/ REGISTRATION button. First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account. This program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favourite lots or someone challenges your proxy bid, and this is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number. If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions, simply enter your user name and password to continue. This takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions.

2. You can choose your favourite lots in this sale and the program will allow you to open either all sale lots or just your favourite lots on your screen. Any time there is active bidding on a lot you have identified on your favourite list, you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity.

3. The program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. This protects your interest in any lot of interest for you to a specified dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. For example, if the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you. But if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and manually bidding again, or moving your attention to a second lot of interest.

4. At closing time of the sale, the entire sale will extend bidding if a bid is placed on any lot in the sale. Any bid received after close time will extend the sale by the time listed on each sale. In most cases, the time gets shorter the longer in to extended bidding the sale is. When no bidding occurs for the extended time, the computer will declare the sale finished.

5. Following the sale, the Owner or Sale Manager will invoice all buyers in the sale. Please contact the seller with questions or to arrange delivery, pick up or shipping of your purchases.

For more info and assistance with bidding contact any of the sale contacts listed on the DLMS website.

FAQ:

WHAT IS RACEHORSE STYLE SALE CLOSE?

Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to either continue bidding on one or more specific lots, or change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone in to extended bidding.

HOW WILL EXTENDED BIDDING WORK?

When we get to the close out end time, the clock for close extends by 5 minutes with any bid placed on any lot in the sale within that 5 minute window. This type of extended bidding turns the end time into more of a soft close. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and gives all bidders the same time to make a decision. If you get outbid on your first lot of interest during extended bidding, you can switch to bid on your second lot of interest if desired. Always follow the countdown clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.

As our sale has grown in size over the years, we have contemplated different sale formats such as sticking with the Farm Gate Timed Auction, or switching to a live sale. After weighing our options, we still feel that the Farm Gate sale is our preferred method of selling. Here’s our top reasons why:

1. NO SALE ORDER

The racehorse style sale allows us to eliminate that dreaded sale order that causes so much stress on sale day! We have all been in that position where our #1 pick is listed after our #2 pick in the sale order. Decisions... decisions... do I risk not bidding on my #2 in order to wait to try on #1? We’ve all done it, and when our #1 choice goes way out of budget, we are kicking ourselves for not just buying #2 when we had the chance!

With Farm Gate, all lots sell at the same time and you have the flexibilty to start bidding on your favorite lot, then switch to your #2 pick (or your #3, or #4, etc) if your #1 pick goes out of budget. This gives all of our customers the best chance at owning the right female or genetic opportunity for their program.

2. MORE ONE-ON-ONE INTERACTION

When I first started selling bulls, I sold via private treaty from our yard. My favorite part about private treaty sales was getting to know my customers on a more personal level. Learning about your program and individual preference in cattle in turn builds a closer relationship between the customer and myself, and also gives me the insight to recommend females that would be best suited for your program. This is especially valuable with sight unseen purchases.

I found that when we switched to a live sale format, much of that one-on-one interaction was lost. Sale day was always such a blur and I really disliked not having enough time to talk to customers about their needs prior to the sale starting. Not all customers choose to interact directly with me prior to the sale with using Farm Gate either, and that’s perfectly ok! But I find that it does increase the amount of interaction between my customers and myself, which I really like.

3. BETTER FOR THE CATTLE

Less stress on the cattle is a major advantage of the online sale format. The heifers get to stay at home, in their environment, on familiar feed and don’t risk getting sick or injured while being moved or sorted for a live sale. Compared to live sales that take place off-farm, there is also no biosecurity risk with the cattle picking up an illness or disease that might exist at a public sale barn. Happier, healthier heifers are better for me, my cattle and my customers.

4. CUSTOMER FEEDBACK HAS BEEN POSITIVE

The old saying, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” applies here. Covid forced us to start with the online Farm Gate sale, but we have received so much positive feedback since making the switch that we want to stick with a good thing! The flexibility to come view the offering at your leisure, to bid from the comfort of your home (or while on the road, or at a meeting, a party or your kid’s hockey game) and even just the fun of the thrill when you never know if an opposing bid is going to give you that “You’ve Been Outbid” warning!

EXCEPTION TO BREEDER GUARANTEE: This guarantee does not cover death, injury, sickness or mismanagement. No guarantee is given that a bull’s semen will freeze. In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques (i.e. embryo transfer) after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void. Animals cannot be returned to Rainbow River Simmentals if not in a sound, healthy condition.

HEALTH: All animals have been on a total herd health program since birth. Specific details are available upon request. It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into their province or state.

ACCIDENTS: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither Rainbow River Simmentals or any sales staff or Association assume any responsibility in this matter and disclaim any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of accident or loss of property.

LIABILITIES: All persons attending the sale, or viewing cattle on-farm prior to the sale, do so at their own risk and the seller assumes no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents occurring in or about the premises.

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS: The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller, and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction, and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.
