There are several ways of getting tv reception. If you just want Saorview then you will have to get an Aerial installed. Also you would need a saorview compatible Television or a set top box. If you have Sky in your House, you could bring your skybox with you when you are in your mobile home and then just get a Satellite dish installed. But sometimes that is not always possible so your other option is a combo box that will give you saorview and free to air channels. Please note that it is best that you install a rust resistance dish due to the level of corrosion by the sea.

Question: Can I get a virus on my tablet or Smartphone? It’s only a matter of time before virus will infect your mobile devices and it is very important that you have antivirus on your phone I recommend Eset security or you can download AVG for free. Recently Crypto ransomware makes its debut on Android. This mailware/Virus will encrypt all your contacts and images until you pay a fee to get them unlocked but beware if you pay there is no guarantee that they will unlock them for you. Here are some simple steps to prevent you from getting infected. Install an Antivirus and you should be extremely careful when using third party app stores, and don’t leave Unknown Sources disabled. Once you’re done installing a trusted app that isn’t from Google Play store, remember to re-enable that setting!

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS: RENT A ROOM RELIEF Question I have retired from work and am planning to rent my spare room to a student lodger to supplement my pension. Will I have to pay tax on the rental income?

GREAT FUN FOR ALL AT AUSTIN STACKS “CÚL CAMPS”

Answer If you rent out part of your home as residential accommodation, the income you earn is exempt from tax, provided the total paid by the tenant(s) is not more than €12,000 in a tax year and you satisfy the qualifying conditions. This is called rent-a-room relief. It applies to accommodation in your home – which can include a selfcontained unit such as a basement flat or a converted garage. It does not apply to rooms that are not attached to your home and it does not apply to rent paid by your child. You must live in your home as your sole or main residence during the tax year for which you are claiming the relief and the room(s) must be used as residential accommodation. For example, you can claim the relief if you are renting a room to a student for the academic year, but not if you are taking in short-term guests. If you rent a room in your home, residential tenancies legislation does not apply. So, if you are only renting out a room, you do not have to register as a landlord with the Residential Tenancies Board (RTB), provide a rent book to the tenant or ensure that the accommodation meets any minimum physical standards. However, if you rent out a self-contained unit such as a basement flat, the legislation does apply. The gross income you get cannot be more than €12,000 in a tax year. This includes sums that the tenant pays to you for food, utilities, laundry or similar goods and services. When you are working out whether the gross income is more than this limit, you cannot deduct any costs that you incurred in earning that income. If your income from rent and other services is over the limit, the entire income (not just the amount over the limit) is taxable. If you qualify for rent-a-room relief, the income is not liable to PRSI, the Universal Social Charge or income tax. Claiming rent-a-room relief does not affect your mortgage interest relief or your exemption from Capital Gains Tax (CGT) if you sell your home. You do not have to claim rent-a-room relief as it applies automatically. However, if you are submitting an annual tax return you must record the amount of the exempt income on the return.

WHAT’S HAPPENING IN TRALEE... TRALEE’S TOM FOLEY TO TAKE ON THE WORLD’S FIRST 20 MARATHONS IN 10 DAYS CHALLENGE IN ITALY!

Lee Strand is delighted to sponsor work colleague Tom Foley who will take on the ultimate fitness challenge in August, by completing 20 Marathons in 10 Days in Lake Orta, Gozzano, Italy. Tom who works in Tralee Town Centre Apartments which is owned and managed by Lee Strand will travel to Gozzano, North of Milan to commence the challenge on Saturday 6th August. In conditions of over 30 degrees, 37 year old Tom will run over the ten days a total of 526 miles, with two marathons a day, the first marathon will take place at 8am and the second marathon will commence at 2pm each day. This event is a world’s first official 20 marathons in 10 days, with some of Italy’s top marathon athletes also taking part. John O’Sullivan, General Manager, Lee Strand commented “Lee Strand is delighted to sponsor our colleague Tom in this remarkable challenge. Tom has put in a lot of training and is working hard on his strength and conditioning. Lee Strand Protein+ Milk has played an important role in Tom’s nutrition for pre-training and post recovery in preparation for the event. Of course we will also be sending a suitcase to Italy filled with Lee Strand Protein+ Milk to help with Tom’s preparation and recovery during the challenge!” Speaking on the upcoming challenge Tom Foley stated “I am really looking forward to the challenge, but I reckon that it will be more of a mental challenge than a physical one! I would like to thank my sponsors Lee Strand Protein+ Milk who are supporting me with my travel, accommodation and entry fees for the 20 marathons. All proceeds raised from the challenge will be donated to the homeless charity Jacket Off Your Back.” Follow Tom’s journey on Facebook, “Tom Foley’s 20 Marathons in 10 Days” or if you would like to make a donation to his charity Jacket Your Back log on to www.gofundme.com/toms20in10 A member of Tralee’s Born to Run club, Tom is no stranger to fitness challenges and has completed 27 marathons in the last three years. In 2014 he cycled over 2400km from St John’s Church in Tralee to The Vatican in Rome as part of the ‘Home To Rome Cycle Challenge’ in aid of the Donal Walsh #Livelife Foundation. The challenge was filmed and a documentary was broadcast on Irish TV called ‘Donal’s Message From Home To Rome’. In 2015 Tom took part in the Energia 24hr Irish Championships in Belfast, when he ran over 103 miles around the Mary Peters Athletic Track 400m track in 24 hours.

KING PUCK IS SET TO RETURN TO HIS THRONE THIS AUGUST

Killorglin’s Puck Fair is Ireland’s original and oldest ‘Gathering Festival’. This year’s festival, which runs August 10th, 11th, and 12th, promises as always to be fun-filled and uniquely entertaining. The age-old celebration revolves around the crowning of a wild mountain goat as King in honour of a tradition and heritage that is purported to be ancient, but can only officially be traced back as far back as 1613 when King James I issued a charter granting legal status to the existing fair in Killorglin. The main coronation ceremony occurs on day one of the festival, otherwise known as ‘Gathering Day’. The Queen of Puck, who is traditionally a young schoolgirl from one of the local primary schools, crowns the goat ‘King Puck’. This year’s honour has gone to 12-year-old local schoolgirl Kerry Lynch from Glounaguillagh National School, Caragh Lake, who will have support throughout the festival from her lady-inwaiting, Bláthnaid Carney from Killorglin. Following the ceremony, the Puck King – who will this year also lay claim to the title of ‘King of the Wild Atlantic Way’ – and his Queen make their way through Killorglin, granting residents and visitors alike the ‘Freedom of the Town’ for the duration of the festival and this marks the beginning of threedays of entertainment, music, pageantry and tradition. As for the highlights of the festival’s opening day, the 2016 parade promises to be a kaleidoscope of colourful floats and entertainers. The route, which was changed last year, is designed to allow greater viewing opportunities and will begin at The Bridge and proceed through Lower Bridge Street, on to The Square and Upper Bridge Street, before finally working its way onto Iveragh Road. Another highlight of ‘Gathering Day’ is the Horse Fair, which is the oldest and longest continually-running horse fair in the country. The equine festivities include buying and selling horses, ponies, donkeys and equipment. The Horse Fair starts early in the morning and continues throughout the opening day of Puck Fair. The second day of Puck Fair, traditionally known as ‘Fair Day’, boasts an impressive line-up that includes a number of free workshops incorporating everything from dance and circus skills to traditional Irish musicianship. The evening schedule is set to be even more fun and fast-paced, with an appearance from DJ Donal from VideodjKerry, street entertainment provided by Monsieur Gusto and music from Two Mikes & Family Ties. Irish country music sensation Mike Denver will round off the day’s festivities as he takes to the main stage at 10pm to perform a free open-air concert for fans of all ages. With the arrival of the final day of Puck Fair, the fun is far from over as the closing Dethronement Parade provides the main highlight of the day. Known as ‘The Scattering’, the parade marks the journey of King Puck back to his mountain domain. Following this, an exhilarating fireworks display provides a fitting finale for Ireland’s oldest festival. For the full programme of events and to learn more about the lengthy history of Puck Fair, visit www.puckfair.ie. For pictures and live updates, check out www.facebook.com/puckfair or twitter @puck_fair and visit YouTube to view puckfairofficial videos. 14

Bexblah Beauty This page is sponsored by Munster Robes & Kitchens

Hello my beautiful friends! I hope you’re all having a fab week.

Because I did my June Favourites last week I said I’d stick with the favourites for a while so this week I will start with Mascara and next week will be eyeshadows and so on...

2

1

Benefit They’re Real: When I first

L’oreal Telescopic: You

tried this product I really didn’t get the hype. I got a sample size and I’m converted. This stuff is amazing, again adds tonnes of length and doesn’t clump! It’s €26.

will ALWAYS find this mascara in my makeup collection. I absolutely love it. It’s about €15/€16, a bit pricey for drugstore makeup but I’m obsessed. Great for length!

3

Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara:

This was highly recommended by a friend so of course I had to try it. It’s one of my new favourites at the moment, it gives craaaaazy volume. The brush does tend to load up with product though so I always scrape the excess off. It’s about a tenner so it’s in the middle ish price range.

4

NYC Sky Rise Mascara: I picked this

up because I had never tried any of the NYC mascaras and was curious. I love how this mascara lengthens and separates my lashes with absolutely no clumping. I do layer it with my Max Factor one if I want a bit more volume but this mascara is fab on it’s own too. The price is even better, for less than €3 you have to try it for yourselves!

5

NYC City Curl Mascara: I have

been a lot more into curling my lashes lately so when I saw this I really wanted to try it. I was drawn to the gorgeous pink packaging of course. I feel silly for not have had tried NYC mascara before, this one is fantastic too. It really gives my lashes a great curl as well as volume. It doesn’t clump easily too which is always a bonus! Again this mascara is under €3 so why not give it a whirl.

So that’s it for this week! I hope you all enjoyed my current masacara favourites. Have a great weekend and I’ll be back here next week with more beauty related goodness! If you want to contact me for an event, collaboration or just to say hi you can email me at Bexblahbeauty@gmail.com or through any social media, FACEBOOK: Bexblah Beauty, TWITTER: @Bexblah, INSTAGRAM: @Bexblah. BEXBLAH

FITNESS!

HELLO MY STRONG FRIENDS, I HOPE YOU’RE ALL HAVING A GREAT WEEK Recently I have been taking more and more notice of people’s(especially women’s) ideas of what is “good for you” and “bad for you”. And it seems many women are still in the mind frame that you need to do lots of cardio, eat no carbs, stop eating after 7pm and all this other nonsense in order to lose weight.

No no no noooooo!!!!!

Go to any decent personal trainer or gym instructor and they will tell you different. 1. Your body needs carbohydrates for energy. 2. Strength training burns more calories for longer. 3. You do not have to eat 6 small meals a day all before 7pm to be ‘healthy’. And yes, I’m no gym goddess(yet). But I have been training properly and eating according to my lifestyle, my goals and my preferences for about 5 months now and the difference is insane. The real difference between getting fast results by doing a crash diet or getting long term slow and steady results by training and getting your nutrition right is this… If you use a crash diet, yeah you’ll lose weight quickly, but it’s not sustainable so you end up putting it all if not more back on very quickly. With proper training and nutrition, your body doesn’t feel deprived or lack energy so if you happen to go on a night out at the weekend or go on a holiday for a week, yeah you might be up a pound or two, but that comes off really quickly when you go back to your regular training and nutrition that you can stick to.

In other news, I have decided to go on holidays mid September so I will be starting a new series next week, “9 weeks to Ayia Napa”. I want to become a small bit stricter with what I’m doing at the moment to look and feel my best on holidays! But no, I will not be cutting out any food groups, doing a crash holiday diet or anything crazy like that.

Targeting Back Pain Naturally Do you suffer with back pain? Is it Acute or chronic? Acute pain begins suddenly and may be short lived, whereas chronic pain persists over a period of time. Either way, pain has the ability to turn any life into a living nightmare. What causes back pain? The short answer, LIFE! The back is a very large area of the body, and back pain can encompass a wide range of symptoms and underlying causes. You have a huge amount of nerves radiating from the spine, so the causes of back pain are numerous. Some people put off going to the doctor, because they think pain is a part of ageing, and nothing can help – this is not true. It is always best to see your GP if you have a new pain. The good news is that there is a variety of ways to treat pain. Some treatments may involve medication, but some do not. Some of the more common causes are: STRESS: There are many types of stress and they all affect the structures of the body. The body is very adaptable, but like everything, it has its limit, and when it reaches this limit, pain is the inevitable result. It may be LOWER or UPPER back pain. Most people are familiar with being “Stressed-Out”, which refers to mental or emotional stress, that kind of stress usually involves, worry, fear, anger, resentment, grief and other thoughts and emotions. The body reacts to this stress by tensing the muscles, which creates strain on the muscles and the skeleton, and may involve nerve irritation. Physical stress: includes pain from trauma such as an accident, fall, sports injury or a sudden jolt or may be as a result of poor posture or sleeping in an awkward position. Some of the natural pain relief remedies are: MOVIALPLUS: a combination of type ll collagen, Hyaluronic acid, pomegranate extract and vitamin C to support healthy joints. Helps reduce inflammation and pain, while improving mobility and quality of life. May also help with stiffness and pain due to osteoarthritis. QUERCETIN: has potent anti-inflammatory activity DEVIL’S CLAW: shows good results in cases of lower back pain, has anti-inflammatory properties TURMERIC: may be useful in reducing inflammation and symptoms such as pain and stiffness MAGNESIUM: helps with pain relief through the relaxation of tissues through-out the body REVIVE ACTIVE JOINT COMPLEX: an all in one solution to support cartilage, bone and connective tissue with powerful MSM to cool inflamed joint tissue

There are also a large range of traditional skin balms and gels to help reduce inflammation and ease muscle soreness.

Until Next Time, Stay Healthy

Three boys look for a summer job. Their preacher agrees to let them sell Bibles door to door, though he’s hesitant about hiring the third boy because he suffers from a speech impediment. After the first week of work they all meet at the church. The preacher asks the boys, “How many Bibles did you sell?” The first boy says, “35.” The second boy says, “75.” The boy with the speech impediment says, “I-I-I s-s-sold 175.” The preacher is amazed and asks the boy how he did it. WALKS INTO A BAR... LEPRECHAUN PEE

COLLEGE DORM RULES

On the first day of college, the dean addressed the students, pointing out some of the rules: “The female dormitory will be out-of-bounds for all male students, and the male dormitory will be off limits to the female students.

A leprechaun walks into a bar. After several pitchers of beer, the leprechaun runs over to a large, mean-looking guy, sticks out his tongue and spits all his legs. The guy reaches out to grab the leprechaun, only to miss him as he jumps back to his seat. “If you know what’s good for you, don’t come near me again, or I’ll rip off your little tallywagger,” yells the mean-looking guy. After a few more pitchers, the leprechaun runs over to the mean-looking guy, sticks out his tongue and spits all over his legs again. This time, the guy successfully catches the leprechaun. “All right, I’ve got you this time. I warned you -- now I’m gonna rip off your little tallywagger!” The leprechaun laughs, “You can’t do that.” “Why not?” asks his captor. “Because,” giggles the leprechaun, “leprechauns don’t have tallywaggers.” “Whadda ya mean you don’t have a tallywagger?” growls the angry man, “How in the hell do you pee?” “Just like this,” laughs the leprechaun as he sticks out his tongue and spits.

A MAN’S LOGIC

A couple wants a divorce, but first they must decide who will be the main guardian of their child. The jury asks both the man and woman for a reason why they should be the one to keep the child. So the jury asks the woman first. She says, “Well I carried this child around in my stomach for nine months and I had to go through a painful birth process, this is my child and apart of me.” The jury is impressed and then turns to ask the man the same question. The man replies, “OK, I take a coin and put it in the drink machine and a drink comes out, now tell me who does the drink belong to me or the machine”

If not, you let me go and don’t give me the ticket.” The sheriff says, “That sounds fair, please exit your vehicle.” The lawyer steps out and the sheriff takes out his nightstick and starts beating the lawyer with it. The sheriff says, “Do you want me to stop or just slow down?”

TORQUING CARS! RUST BUCKET LAND ROVER ON SALE FOR STAGGERING £200,000 - BUT THERE IS AN IMPORTANT REASON WHY

Production of the Land Rover Defender came to an end last week, almost 70 years after the first off-roader was built, which makes this one even more valuable.... It may look like a rusted hunk of metal that should be consigned to the scrap yard, but this Land Rover is currently on sale for a staggering £200,000. Production of the Land Rover Defender came to an end last week, almost 70 years after the first off-roader was built. And to mark that poignant ending, fans of the British workhorses can get their hands on the first one ever to roll off the production line. Unfortunately its a wreck currently rusting in a barn in a field after lying unused for 35 years. The current owner of the car is Tim Hughes, a Land Rover enthusiast who runs Motiv Trailers in Shropshire. He bought the Land Rover more than ten years ago and has had it tucked away ever since. He said: “Land Rovers were all petrols until 1957 when they started building diesel models. “I understand that there was five prototypes built in 1956 and this vehicle was the first ever production of the Diesel 88-inch. Last week the last Land Rover diesel rolled off the production line and this was the first. “It was originally owned by Rover before it was sold to a man in Birmingham who kept it until 1974. “In 1982 it came to the end of its working life and was just left in a field for 20 years. I bought it in the early 2000s and put it in storage where it has remained ever since.Tim has now put the Land Rover on ebay with a guide price of a staggering £200,000 - more than six-times the price of a brand new Defender.

THE NEW MERCEDES BENZ E-CLASS ... SUPER ELEGANT !!

There’s nothing radically different about the exterior of the new E-Class but it certainly looks so much more appealing. Gone is the three-pointed star from the front bonnet and the angular lines replaced with a more coupe and smoother look. Now in its 10th generation, more than 13 million E-classes have been bought. . While outside it may not look that different, inside things have really stepped up a gear. The interior, with tastefully restrained use of wood, now looks and feels expensive but still nods to the marque’s heritage. Our test car came in black gloss with saddle brown nappa leather seats. An 8.4 inch infotainment system, controlled via a dial, dominates the dashboard. There is also plenty of space in the back; an extra 65mm has been added to the wheelbase so now three adults will fit in the back snugly with decent head, arm and leg room. The 540-litre boot is ideal for luggage, golf clubs and shopping trips to Ikea. It is also a technological tour de force but there are just so many aids and features it’s almost intrusive; high-pitched alarms alert you to obstacles you never even knew existed and a cacophonous ensemble implores you to stop every time you try to reverse park.Previous versions of the E-Class offered a noisy 2.1-litre diesel engine, but the new one comes with either a more fuel-efficient, turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0-litre or a 3.0-litre V6 diesel. The range starts from €52,850, so it is expensive; our test car, the 220d Avantgarde AMG Line Automatic Saloon, has a starting price of €57,650 but the extra options of a full parking pack, full keyless go pack, and ash trim costing €2,842, brought the price to €60,492. The BMW 520d SE auto is priced from €49,203, the Jaguar XF prestige starts at €45,995, and Audi’s A6 2.0TDI 150 ‘Ultra’ S-Tronic SE from €46,800.The latest E-class oozes style, sophistication and luxury. It’s also extremely safe and very comfortable. The downsides are as you’d expect: all of this luxury doesn’t come cheap. But the E-class improves in nearly every way. The drive is still not as sharp as the Jaguar XF or the BMW 5 Series but then E-Class aficionados tend to favour comfort, safety and a little luxury over performance. The Mercedes E-Class has finally emerged from the shadows of its talented siblings and delivers the very best the German carmaker has to offer. (Sunday Indo )

FAI NATIONAl P.R.O. OF THE YEAR TWO MORE KERRY BOYS TO PULL ON THE GREEN OF IRELAND:

With the Euro’s now over and the Premier League season just around the corner there is plenty of excitement in the soccer world. And here in Tralee that’s also the case, as two more Kerry players have been called into the year the Green of Ireland. The Hibernia Tournament will take place in Dublin in August and The Park’s Sean McGrath and Tralee Dynamos Sean Kennedy are delighted to have made the squad. Both players starred in the recent Kennedy Cup where the Irish coaches spotted their ability. The players will train with the squad over the next couple of weekends. It is a hugely exciting time for both boys as they have both been invited by clubs in the UK to come over and train and both are heading over in the next few weeks. Sean McGrath is also in Taiwan at the moment at the International Children’s Games with the Tralee team. With the signing by Shane McLoughlin and Rian O’Sullivan of contracts cross channel and Jesse Stafford Lacey heading to play soccer at a top College in the US these are great times for Kerry soccer. Other players making their way in the early stages of their careers are ex Dynamos players Paul White and Cian Kennedy. Goalkeeper Paul White is being courted by a number of clubs while Kennedy is in the States. KERRY WONDER CAN T HEY UPSET WANDERERS: In a year of the underdog, and very few upsets were greater than Glasgow Celtic getting beaten by Gibraltar’s part timers Lincoln Red Imps in the Champions League qualifier, the Kerry u17’s will be hoping to create an upset of their own this Sunday. They face Bray Wanderers in Tralee in the latest round of the SSE Airtricity u17 League with a 2pm kick off AT Mounthawk Park. Bray are going well on 19 points from their 12 games while Kerry have the solitary win over Salthill Devon. It will be interesting to see if manager Darren Aherne has some new players on show. PARNELL’S NEWS: Under 16 Championship: Parnells hosted Causeway in the 2nd round of the u16 Championship and while the home team created

Causeway proceeds to the Cup semi-finals while Parnells face Lixnaw in the Shield semi-final. Camogie 2 Day Academy: The Kerry camogie 2 Day Academy will take place on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th of August in Tralee. The Academy will cater for girls aged 13 to 16 years of age and costs e20. The Academy will take place from 10am to 2.30pm daily. All participants will get a souvenir tee-shirt from the Academy. Summer Camp Coaches: The summer camp is running this week for children aged 7 to 14 and is run by coordinator Eamon Fitzgerald. The coaches are current Kerry hurlers Jordan Brick and Brendan O’Leary along with Inter County camogie player Julianne O’Keeffe. North Kerry U10 Blitz: Two u10 teams took part in the North Kerry Blitz last Saturday with each playing 4 games. The young players showed great skills and determination and the coaches are seeing the improvement of the panel of players. Parnells thanks Abbeydorney GAA for the hospitality on the day. The teams will take part in the next North Kerry Blitz which will be hosted by Ardfert on July 23rd. The club thanks Noel at Adams of Tralee for presenting a set of Sliotars to the club. See photos on Facebook. CAMOGIE NEWS: Kerry went down 2.13 to 1.10 away to Armagh in their third round robin Championship match. Both sides had changes from the League game in Kerry earlier in the year. Armagh were strong all over the field and got the all-important goal when Rachel Merry set up Leanne Donnelly hit the back of net midway through the half. By the half the home side were leading 1-07 to 0-06. Patrice Diggin tried to get Kerry back into the game but Armagh made the best of the poor conditions and were able to hold on for the win. Patrice Diggin top scored for Kerry with 9 points followed by Jessica Fitzell who hit Kerry’s goal and Jackie Horgan who hit the other point. Kerry will now face Westmeath this Sunday at 2.30pm with the venue being Abbeydorney. All Ireland u16 C Championship: Kerry were well beaten by Armagh in the u16 C Championship. Juvenile News: This Friday night, July 15th is a busy night with the u6,8’s and 10’s boys and the u12 girls in action in Camp at 7pm where the face Camp/Annascaul. Some of the sides met at home this week and all enjoyed some close games. This Sunday, July 17th will be the last Academy session before the summer break. However teams will take part in the John Mitchels Blitz on July 23rd and coaches would appreciate a call if a player cannot attend. The u10’s really enjoyed their Fun Go Game against Annascaul and will be in action again this weekend. The u12’s have a big date on Thursday July 21st. They will compete in the Munster u12 Blitz in the Fitzgerald Stadium starting at 11am and the club wishes the players and mentors all the best. The U12 Girls enjoyed a great win in their first outing against neighbours Camp/Annascaul and the sides meet again this Friday night. The u14 Boys had a busy week playing away to Austin Stacks B on Monday evening and at home to John Mitchels and ended with one win and one loss. Seniors: The Seniors took two valuable League points in their Division 3 Round 6 game at home to Ballydonogue. A goal in the closing stages of the first half from David O’Callaghan saw the home side level with their visitors at the break. Ballydonoghue enjoyed some good periods of the second half and at one stage had a 4 point lead. But 4 unanswered points levelled matters again and an unstoppable penalty from Kieran Hurley gave St Pats a 1 point win – 2-12 to 1-14. The team will play Brosna at home on July 16th in the County League with a 7.30pm throw in. KERINS O’RAHILLY’S NEWS: There was good news for the club this week when Jack Savage was called into the Kerry senior panel ahead of the All Ireland quarter final. Savage has being playing some great football of late and this is a well -deserved call up for the 20 year old. The seniors are through to the quarter final of the Garvey’s Super Valu County Championship following a 3-12 to 2-12 win over Legion at the Fitzgerald Stadium. Being honest the winning margin should have been greater and the Killarney side scored two late late goals to give Rahilly’s supporters some nervous moments. Rahillys dominated the game from the start and got their first goal in the 9th minute from Barry

It’s back to the County League this week with Dingle the opponents away on Sunday at 2pm. The Junior’s play St Pats in Strand Road on Monday at 7.30pm in the Junior Town League having played Milltown in mid-week. be matched for a long time. There was a bright moment for Kerry when Usman Khan bowled a hat trick of wickets. But the wickets came too late to save Kerry. Newbuildings were all out for 281 while Kerry could only hit 110.

STACKS JUVENILE NEWS: The u6’s and u8’s were spared going out in the bad weather last Sunday when their training was called off. The u10’s did brave the elements as they continue their preparations for their August Bank Holiday trip to Dublin. The u12 trained twice this week while the u13’s were big winners over Ballymac. The u14’s were involved in an amazing game and came back from 14 points down to win by 3 – 6-09 to 4-12. The full team and subs all contributed to this win. They also defeated Cromane/ GlenbeigH-Glencar earlier in the week. The u16’s played their County League Round 1 game against Kilgarvan / Tousist after their break for the exams. They had a number of players from the South Kerry Development squad in action but this was a cracking performance by the Tralee boys and in the end they ran out easy winners 7-20 to 2-06. In the Central League game against Dingle the boys pulled off one of the great comebacks having been 8 points down with time running out. They hit 9 to win by just one point and then met Desmonds in the final which they won. Captain Gearoid Sheehan accepted the Cup. Reminder of Camp: The clubs camp takes place in Connolly Park from August 2nd to 5th.

NEWBUILDINGS TOO STRONG FOR KERRY IN POOR WEATHER: Having travelled all the way from Derry Newbuildings Cricket Club were happy that their game against Kerry went ahead at the Oyster Oval in the Spa. The weather conditions made the Irish National Cup quarter final game very difficult but credit to the visitors they handled the rain and wind very well and their opening match winning partnership which saw Mark Hanna on 117 and Dean Mehaffey hit 115 won’t

WEATHER PLAYING HAVOC WITH SWIMS: The Tralee Bay Swimming club must be wondering what weather god they upset. With safety as their first priority they have cancelled and moved around some of the swims. Round 4 of the World Series took place this week on Thursday night weather permitting. It is the Brendan O’Callaghan Cup, sponsored by Utensils Tralee, which is the oldest in the club dating from the 1950’s and is a Cup with a huge history and one that has been won by many of the club’s great names. Take it dear Heart of Jesus and place it within your Heart where your Father sees it, then in his merciful eyes it will become your favour not mine. Amen. Say this prayer three times for three days and your favour will be granted. Never known to fail. Must promise publication of prayer.
