Additional Information on the usage of ‘a’ and ‘an’

1)For objects you see for the first time.

Example: I see a pen. I talk to a boy. You buy a bag.

2)To mean’any’ Example: Please take a pencil from the drawer. Please switch on a fan. Bring a marker pen from the room!

The use of ‘the’ >‘the’ is used for one or many objects.

Example: I have the pencil. I have the pencils.

Conditions to use ‘the’:‘the’ is used
