On behalf of the team and board of directors at Naas Racecourse, I am delighted to welcome you today for what looks like another high-class card of jumps racing. Today’s card is a lovely mix of graded races along with some really interesting and competitive supporting races, so we are all set for a great day’s racing.
Aidan McGarry Racecourse Manager
Eddie Moran Owner Liaison
A big welcome back to Gary Finlay and David McLoughlin as we continue our partnership with Finlay Motor Group. Going into our fourth year of this partnership, the team at Finlay Motors have been great to work with and Naas Racecourse is always delighted to be associated with such a successful local company. The Finlay Ford at Naas Novice Chase looks another interesting renewal with the main contenders likely to have a significant impact on the spring festivals later in the year. We are also delighted to welcome back another local sponsor, Clinton Higgins Chartered Accountants. Based in Naas town, we work with Michael Higgins and his team throughout the year and we very much appreciate their continued supported.
Our Naas Racecourse Business Club was formed over 20 years ago with the specific aim of businesses and racing enthusiasts sponsoring Listed and Graded races at Naas Racecourse and it is still going strong today. We are delighted to have our members with us today to enjoy some hospitality as they sponsor one of the feature races, The Limestone Lad Grade 3 Hurdle. The Business Club is certainly worth looking into and please feel free to contact us at any time to discuss, a great way of networking is a day at the races with like-minded people!
A special thank you to the team at ALOGA Equestrian who are back as our official Stable Yard Sponsor for 2026. It is only with the help of a sponsor such as ALOGA Equestrian that we can subsidise the grooms canteen and give them top-quality food whilst they’re working hard producing the stars we see on the track today.
We are thrilled to host a leg of the Albert Bartlett Triple Crown Series, a series that provides an opportunity for horses in the competitive handicap hurdle category, to compete for an impressive prize on a feature festival day at Punchestown in a few month’s time.
Finally, I would like to thank the Irish EBF for their continued support in enhancing the prize fund available to the owners and trainers throughout the year.

At every meeting there are specially qualified equine veterinary surgeons on duty to look after the well-being of all the horses racing. There is a vet in attendance at the start of each race who follows the horses throughout the race and is quickly on hand if a casualty occurs. It is normal procedure to erect screens around any horse receiving veterinary treatment. This allows the veterinary surgeon some privacy to fully assess the horses’ injuries and racegoers should not assume the worst if screens are erected around an injured horse. The Blue Cross ambulance is always present to transport the horse back to the stable yard for further treatment if necessary. A secondary veterinary surgeon is in attendance in the stable yard to assess and treat any horse requiring such attention post race. The horses’ welfare is always our priority.
A representative from Naas Racecourse will present a Newbridge Silverware Picture Frame to the winning Owner, and €50 to the groom in charge of the best turned out horse in this race. The winning owner will also receive a copy of The Centenary of Naas Racecourse Book.

All three Willie Mullins-trained runners are winning recruits from France and are among the stable’s 19-strong entry for the Triumph Hurdle. The vote goes to Paul Townend’s pick MON CREUSET who handled soft when winning over 1m4f last autumn on his only start. Lynches Knock is effectively a winner without a penalty and can be expected to put his “academy” experience to good use. Saratoga won on heavy on the Flat and should be better for his Punchestown run.

Third in last year’s Cheltenham bumper, SHUTTLE DIPLOMACY put two bad runs behind him when second at Limerick and may collect now. Kilgame, left to take third following the exit of the exciting El Cairos at Leopardstown, could prove a tough opponent. Newbrook Diamond has winning potential but may not be entirely straightforward. King Kali was having only his second run after a long absence when winning at Limerick and could make his presence felt despite a 7lb rise.

Willie Mullins has saddled several promising bumper winners in recent weeks and could have another with LOVE SIGN D’ANJOU who won a maiden point for Ger Quinn last April.
