PREFACE This Instructor's Resource Manual is intended as a teaching aid for those who are using the eighth Canadian edition of Business by Griffin, Ebert, Starke, Dracopoulos, and Lang. The material contained in this Instructor’s Resource Manual should be helpful for instructors as they convey the text material to students. Each chapter of this manual corresponds to a chapter of the text and contains the following elements: Chapter Synopsis: This is a brief overview of the main thesis of the chapter. Chapter Outline: The chapter is outlined and the major points are covered. As well, details of these main points are presented. Quick Questions: These are questions which are designed to test students’ basic understanding of some of the key concepts presented in the chapter. In-Class Exercises: These exercises get students involved in interesting in-class activities which help them better understand the concepts that are presented in the textbook. Teaching Tips: Suggestions are made for making the chapter material interesting and relevant to students. These tips range from suggestions for class debates to ideas for guest speakers. Using the Boxed Inserts: This section contains suggestions for relating the material in the boxed inserts to the accompanying material in the text. Answers to the critical thinking questions at the end of the boxed inserts are also included here. Questions for Analysis: Suggestions are given on how to deal with the analysis questions found at the end of each chapter. Illustrative approaches that students could take in answering the analysis questions are presented. Application Exercises: This section gives helpful suggestions for making the application exercises meaningful and useful to students. Building Your Business Skills: Suggestions are made on how to assess student responses in these exercises. Exercising Your Ethics: Team Exercise: Suggestions are made about how to use the ethical dilemmas that are featured at the end of each chapter. Case Analyses: Answers to the questions posed in the end-of-chapter cases are presented here.
