“Suddenly, I could see it before me! When I thought of it, I got a warm feeling inside and I couldn’t stop thinking about the idea… I was going to make a tap that produces boiling water!”
Henri Peteri (1918 2007)
Inventor of the Quooker system and Dutch physicist
Foreword
When we look back at Quooker’s beginnings, we see a remarkable story that started with a visionary idea in a family cellar. Henri Peteri (the founder) was convinced that households should have instant boiling water from the tap, an idea that has since transformed the way millions of people use water every day. Over the years, the company carried that vision forward, combining innovation and sustainability to shape what Quooker is today: a company that improves the way people use water to enrich their lives.
As we continue to build on this legacy, we see it as both an honour and a responsibility to pursue our mission with the same passion and integrity that have guided us from the start. The values that shaped this company, such as curiosity, craftsmanship and care for people and the planet, remain at the heart of everything we do.
Today, sustainability is no longer just an ambition; it is a shared mindset that drives our actions across every department. From product innovation to production and logistics, we continually challenge ourselves to do better. We focus on reducing our overall CO₂ footprint, for example by lowering the energy consumption of our appliances. We are also investing in a new sustainable company building that supports our long-term environmental ambitions. In addition, we are committed to improving the wellbeing of our employees and of the people within our supply chain.
What began as one family’s vision has become a collective effort. A team of more than 1100 dedicated people around the world is united by the belief that small changes in how we use water can have a big impact on the world around us.
As we look ahead, our goal is clear: to keep improving the way people use water. That mission connects our past, present and future, and it is what motivates us as we lead Quooker into its next chapter.
We are committed to creating meaningful impact, one drop at a time.

Our sustainability vision
At Quooker, we believe in improving the way people use water to enrich everyday life. That is what drives us. The Quooker system offers convenience while helping households save water, reduce plastic waste and achieve potential energy savings. Our philosophy is simple: easy for people, easy on the planet. As we expand internationally, we remain aware of the responsibilities linked to our impact on people and the environment. In cooperation with colleagues, suppliers and customers, we aim to make responsible decisions in our day-to-day work. This is reflected in our product design, repair processes and operational practices, where we continue to look for ways to lower our CO₂ emissions. And as we look ahead, we are guided by our mission to become the world’s most responsible and forward-thinking water appliance brand. To achieve that, we have set clear ambitions across five sustainability themes: Energy Efficiency, Water Conservation, Climate Action, Circularity and Care for People.
Sustainable Development Goals
Our sustainability vision is aligned with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which provide a global framework for addressing social, environmental, and economic challenges. While all goals are important, our efforts place particular emphasis on Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), and Climate Action (SDG 13). We have clear ambitions across five sustainability themes:
1 Energy Efficiency
By 2030, our products will use up to 30% less energy compared to 2024.
2 Water Conservation
By 2030, we aim to have saved 8 billion liters of water (estimated) since 2015.
3 Climate Action
By 2028, all our service vehicles will drive fully electric.
By 2030, we will have reduced the CO₂ emissions per product sold by 40% compared to 2023.
By 2030, we aim to reach Net Zero CO₂ emissions in our own operations.
4
Circularity
By 2030, over 80% of every product’s weight will be made from recycled or renewable materials.
By 2030, over 90% of every new product will be designed for repair. By 2030, over 90% of defective taps will be repaired rather than replaced.
5 Care for People
By 2026, all our direct spend suppliers have signed the Quooker Way of Working. By 2030, we aim for an Employee Net Promoter Score of 40.
“We want to become the world’s most responsible and forward-thinking water appliance brand.“
Sam Smeets Sustainability Manager
By establishing a dedicated Sustainability Department in 2022, we strengthened our commitment to long-term impact.
Sustainability Week
We want to inspire and engage our colleagues around the world to make responsible choices every day. That is why we organised our very first Sustainability Week
This international week focused on creating positive impact together, with each day highlighting one of our five themes. The aim was to raise awareness and encourage colleagues to consider how they can contribute in their roles. Meaningful change is only possible when we work together.
Throughout the week, a wide range of activities took place across all Quooker offices. We organised inspiring and engaging initiatives, including a Coffee truck with local coffee and treats, a company-wide sustainability webinar, vegetarian lunches, a mini swap shop for books and clothing, a clothing repair café, a guided tour at our assembly partner Confed, and a walk, run and hike challenge. And that was only part of the programme. The entire week was filled with moments that informed , inspired and brought people together
Coffee truck with local coffee and treats.
CSRD
In 2024, we conducted a materiality analysis in collaboration with our stakeholders as part of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This analysis helps us prioritise sustainability themes and account for our impact in a transparent way. This process was supported by external expertise. Among others, we worked together with Factor Delta as an advisory partner, followed CSRD training courses organised by Future Up (previously MVO Nederland), and used Ecocharting as our sustainability reporting platform.
The results of this analysis are shown in the materiality matrix. This indicates which themes are most important to our stakeholders and where we have or can make the greatest impact.
With the recent changes in the CSRD framework, Quooker is no longer subject to mandatory reporting requirements. We have therefore chosen to focus our efforts on achieving our own sustainability goals, aligned with the material CSRD topics, ensuring that these themes remain central to our work.

Energy Efficiency
Mission
We provide energy-efficient water appliances
Target
By 2030, our products will use up to 30% less energy compared to 2024
Our tank with energy label A
A Quooker system gives you an energy-efficient source of boiling, hot, chilled and sparkling water, all from a single tap. The system consists of a tap on your work surface and a tank in the kitchen cupboard. Thanks to high-vacuum insulation and antiradiation foil, the tank needs only 10 watts of energy to keep the water at temperature. That is less than the energy used by two standard LED bulbs. Because hot water is delivered directly from the Quooker system, heat loss is minimal compared to using a central heating boiler. The more you use your Quooker, the more economical it becomes, especially when compared with a kettle or a pan on the hob. And when the electricity you use comes from renewable sources , CO₂ emissions from a Quooker system are very low.
If you want to save energy at home, the COMBI tank is the best option. This tank provides both boiling and warm water. Warm water is produced by mixing boiling and cold water inside the tank, so it no longer needs to come from your central heating system. This means you never have to wait for warm water again, and water is electrically heated.
Since 26 September 2015, the mandatory EU energy label for household products has been in effect. The COMBI is the highest-scoring kitchen boiler with a boiling water function and has therefore been awarded energy label A
The Sustainability Check provides insight
But how much energy can you save with a Quooker system? We are happy to show you. That is why we developed the Sustainability Check . This tool allows consumers to see how much water and energy they use at home, and how a Quooker system can help them save energy, water, and plastic bottles. In 2026, we plan to introduce the Sustainability
Check in the remaining countries where it is not yet available. Our hope is that even more people will gain insight into how a Quooker system can help them save at home.
An even more efficient tank
We are proud of the low energy consumption of our products, and we are determined to keep improving. At the moment, we are working on a new tank that will be even more energy-efficient. This new version will use only 3 watts to keep the water above boiling point. That is a meaningful step toward helping as many households as possible reduce their energy use.
We also see exciting opportunities to improve the insulation and cooling of the CUBE Over the coming years, we will explore how we can put these improvements into practice.
“We make the most energy-efficient boiling water tap and we keep making it even more efficient. Not because we have to, but because we can and because it benefits everyone.”
Micha Disselkoen Manager Research & Development
This year 13.269 people have used the online Sustainability Check.
Water Conservation

Water Conservation
Mission
We empower people to save water
Target
By 2030, we aim to have saved 8 billion liters of water (estimated) since 2015
Saving water with our system
A lot of water is wasted in the kitchen without us even realising it. Think of boiling more water than you need or letting drinkable water run down the sink while you wait for the water to warm up. A Quooker system helps prevent this by giving you exactly the amount of boiling, hot or cold water you need, right when you need it.
With our COMBI tank , which provides both boiling and hot water, a household can save up to 3000 litres of water per year. Because warm water is available instantly, you no longer lose litres of cold water while waiting for it to heat up. Users of the PRO3 tank , which provides boiling water only, can still save around 300 litres annually by boiling exactly the amount they need. These water savings play an important role in reducing unnecessary water waste. By encouraging more customers to choose the COMBI rather than, for example, the PRO3 tank, we help households reduce their water consumption even further.
Safe drinking water with our filters
Clean drinking water is just as essential. That’s why our tank contains a HiTAC® (High Temperature Activated Carbon) water filter, which removes impurities such as chlorine , bacteria , and pesticides , while also improving the taste of the water.
Together, these savings and filters form an important and distinctive feature of the Quooker system, and something we are truly proud of. At a time when responsible water use matters more than ever, we value the contribution our products can make.
Clean water for everyone
But for us, saving water does not end at the kitchen tap. We also want to help improve access to clean drinking water around the world.
In Switzerland, we support the WfW organisation by donating 1 CHF per Quooker system sold, which contributes to professionally maintained water, sanitation and hygiene systems in disadvantaged areas.
Our biggest global impact, however, comes from our long-standing partnership with Made Blue Foundation. Since 2015, we have been running our litre for a litre programme: for every litre of water our users save at home, we donate a litre of clean drinking water to communities where access is limited. Through this partnership, we have already contributed more than 4 billion litres of clean water. It is something we deeply believe in.
This year, three of our colleagues travelled to Malawi to witness the impact of these water projects firsthand (Figures 1 4). They visited five different project sites, and the importance of reliable access to water became immediately visible. When people no longer have to walk long distances to collect water, they suddenly have time for other essential activities, such as attending school. The water is also safer to drink, which significantly reduces the risk of illness. And beyond these examples, there are countless ways in which access to clean water strengthens daily life and empowers entire communities.
Keeping track of our target
In 2024, we saved 3.656.951.982 litres of water, and in 2025 this rose to 4.221.245.059 litres.

“Small things can make a big difference. We saw about four water wells, and when you hear the stories of the people for whom this truly matters, you become even more enthusiastic.”

Mission
We reduce our carbon footprint across the value chain
Target
By 2030, we will have reduced the CO₂ emissions per product sold by 40% compared to 2023
Our CO₂ emissions
As a company, we inevitably emit CO₂. Each year, we take a close look at our footprint by calculating the CO₂ emissions from our activities, in collaboration with Vaayu , following the three scopes defined in the GHG Protocol.
Scope 1 covers our direct emissions, such as those from our own transport and the gas used to heat our buildings. Scope 2 includes the indirect emissions from the energy we purchase, for example the electricity that powers our offices. Scope 3 looks at all other indirect emissions in our value chain. These are emissions we do not control directly, but that we do influence through the choices we make.
What stands out to us is that our largest impact lies in Scope 3 , particularly the emissions associated with the production and use of our products. To understand this impact properly, we calculate it based on an expected product lifespan of 10 years. We take responsibility for the energy use and CO₂ emissions of our products throughout their entire lifetime and assume that they will be used for at least 10 years.
We have set ambitious reduction targets that align with the Paris Agreement, and we are committed to reaching them. One of our top priorities is to further reduce the energy consumption of our systems . By doing so, we hope to achieve two things at once: lowering CO₂ emissions and helping our customers save on their energy bills.
To build our Quooker systems, we source raw materials and components both locally and internationally. We want to work closely with our suppliers to help them reduce their own CO₂ emissions as well. By supporting them, for example in choosing more recycled materials , we believe we can make progress together.
Scope 1 1930 t CO₂e
Scope 2 285 t CO₂e
Reduction and donation
While reducing our own emissions remains our top priority, we also know that some impact will always be unavoidable. That is why we choose to invest in meaningful initiatives that help balance the footprint we cannot eliminate yet. We donate to projects that create real, long-term value for communities and the environment.
One example is our support for the Safe Water Project , which helps schools in Nigeria and Kenya gain access to clean drinking water. Through this programme, reliable water treatment technologies are installed, and local partners are involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair services.
Our LCAs & EPDs
In the meantime, we continue to look closely at the environmental impact of our products and how we can keep improving. We do this by carrying out Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), which help us understand the full ecological footprint of our products, from the extraction of raw materials all the way to end-of-life. These LCAs and the resulting Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are developed and calculated in collaboration with Ecomatters .
These insights guide us in adjusting our designs wherever possible, so we can further reduce our impact. If you would like to dive deeper into the environmental performance of our products, our Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are available on platforms such as Milieu Relevante Product Informatie
Lowering emissions across our operations
We are also mindful of our CO₂ emissions in our own offices and take steps to reduce them wherever we can. A large part of the energy we use is generated by our own solar panels across several locations. Wherever possible, we choose renewable electricity and phase out gas consumption entirely. To reduce emissions from business travel, we are renewing our vehicle fleet and aim to have all vehicles fully electric by the end of 2028 (Figure 1) In England, we have taken an extra step by working with walking engineers . (Figure 2) They visit customers on foot or by public transport, which significantly reduces the footprint of their travel.
We also work closely with our transportation partners to reduce the environmental impact of our logistics. This includes co-financing the transition to electric trucks, an initiative currently being developed with several of our partners, as well as collaborating with multiple transport companies that have already switched to biofuels for both sea freight and road transport. By supporting these developments, we aim to accelerate the shift toward lower-emission transport across our supply chain.
The road to a new building
We are also excited about developing our new headquarters (Figure 3 5), a place where all Dutch employees will work together. Sustainability is at the heart of this new design. The building will be energy neutral, climate adaptive and nature inclusive . Water butts will be installed on the roof and around the building to collect rainwater, which will then be used to irrigate plants and flush toilets. This reduces pressure on the drainage system and lowers drinking water consumption. Solar panels will provide our own renewable energy, and a well water pump will heat and cool the building sustainably by drawing warmth and cold from over 200 metres underground.
The heart of the building will be a green atrium , filled with living plants and trees. It will offer natural light, calming views, and a sense of connection between departments, while also improving the indoor climate. There will be a roof garden where employees can enjoy lunch, relax in the fresh air, and even pick herbs for tea.
Together, these steps mark an important chapter in our journey, one where sustainability, collaboration, and wellbeing come together in a place we can proudly call our new home.
Keeping track of our target
2024: 10% of service vans are electric
2025: 18% of service vans are electric

Mission
We design for durability and circularity
Targets
By 2030 over 90% of every new product will be designed for repair over 90% of defective taps will be repaired rather than replaced over 80% of every product’s weight will be made from recycled or renewable materials
Circularity of our products
At Quooker, we want to play a meaningful role in building a more circular economy. This means designing products that last, that can be repaired, and that use as few new raw materials as possible. It also means constantly looking for ways to reduce our CO₂ emissions. Our Research and Development team plays an essential part in this effort. With more than 70 colleagues working every day to improve our products, their dedication helps us move closer to our sustainability goals.
This year, we also calculated the circularity score of our products. (Figure 5) This gives us a valuable starting point for understanding where the biggest opportunities lie and what adjustments we can make to increase circularity across our portfolio.
To extend the lifespan of our products, we continue to prioritise repairability. We genuinely appreciate it when customers can carry out simple repairs themselves, without needing help from a service engineer. It is often faster, more convenient, and avoids the environmental impact of unnecessary travel. We also want to increase the use of recycled materials , and designing with less material , always with repairability and long lifespan in mind. (Figure 2)
Handling returns responsibly
Every product we receive back is examined thoroughly. We ask ourselves: what went wrong, how can we repair it, and what can we learn to prevent similar issues in the future?
Our Quality and Return Team plays a crucial role here. If a product cannot be repaired, we recycle its parts in line with the WEEE guidelines. This way, we keep improving both our products and our processes.
The CUBE as an alternative to plastic bottles
With the CUBE , we help our customers reduce waste even further. The CUBE is a chilledwater tank that allows your Quooker system to dispense both chilled and sparkling water straight from the tap. This simple addition removes the need for plastic bottles in everyday life. (Figure 1) To strengthen the fight against plastic pollution, we support organisations such as the Plastic Soup Foundation
We clean up
We also stay closely connected to the environments in which we operate. While the CUBE helps households reduce their reliance on single-use plastic bottles, we extend this commitment beyond our products. Throughout the year, we organised several local clean-up activities, bringing colleagues together to remove plastic waste from nature and contribute to cleaner, healthier surroundings. (Figures 3, 4)

Mission
We take care of people’s well-being in everything we do
Targets
By 2026, all our suppliers have signed the Quooker Way of Working By 2030, we aim for an Employee Net Promoter Score of 40
Combining convenience with safety
At Quooker, we care about the planet and the people who live on it. Our aim is to improve everyday life for our customers through products that are both practical and thoughtful in their design. We are equally committed to supporting our employees and everyone involved in our value chain.
A Quooker system brings a sense of ease into everyday life, and that’s the main reason so many people choose our products. But convenience is only part of the story; safety matters just as much. We work with boiling water, after all, and that calls for thoughtful and careful design. Every detail is created with attention: a child-proof push-push-andturn button, a controlled water spray with fine droplets and an insulated and rotatable spout all help ensure that the risk of burns remains extremely small. Research by the Dutch Burns Foundation in 2020 even showed that a boiling-water tap is safer than a traditional kettle. Knowing this motivates us to keep improving our technology every day.
Personal and effortless service
Just as important to us is the support we offer our customers . Our sales teams answer questions daily, and our mechanics travel across the country to carry out repairs at people’s homes. In the UK, customers can even speak directly to someone in the showroom through Virtual Sell , allowing them to see our systems in action without needing to travel. It offers personal guidance in a simple, accessible way and helps reduce CO₂ emissions. To better understand how customers experience our brand, we send out a short monthly survey that results in an NPS , the Net Promoter Score, which reflects how likely customers would recommend us to others. It is an important indicator of how we can keep improving.
A strong company culture
Our culture is something we truly value. Even as we expand quickly across international markets, we remain committed to the people-focused spirit that has been at the heart of our success from day one. We want everyone to feel welcome, supported and recognised. We believe in open, honest conversations, and we are transparent about what you can expect when you start working with us. For us, growth doesn’t mean losing the personal touch. On the contrary, it inspires us to strengthen it, ensuring that as we scale globally, our culture stays warm, inclusive and connected .
At Quooker, we believe diversity is a source of strength. Different ages, backgrounds, experiences, and genders bring fresh perspectives and enrich our organisation. That’s why we’re committed to building teams that reflect both society and the global nature of our business.
Our international onboarding program is one way we put this into practice. New colleagues from abroad spend a few days in Ridderkerk, where they get to experience the atmosphere that defines Quooker and learn what we stand for. No matter where you join us from, we want you to feel part of something meaningful, a company where your contribution matters and where you can grow alongside others.
As we continue to grow rapidly and expand internationally, we remain dedicated not just to preserving our culture, but to actively strengthening it every single day. In the year ahead, we will place even greater focus on safeguarding and nurturing this foundation.
Employee wellbeing and development
In 2025, there was one report of socially unsafe behaviour—one too many, and our ambition is to reduce this number to zero. Our Respectful Collaboration e-learning is now part of onboarding in all countries to help create a workplace where everyone feels protected and respected. We also offer a confidential counsellor for employees who need someone to talk to, and colleagues dealing with financial stress can receive support from our budget coach. Everyone deserves to feel safe and supported.
The wellbeing and development of our employees matter throughout the entire organisation. Across all our offices, teams work on initiatives that encourage healthy choices, support vitality and offer opportunities to grow. Some locations already use structured programs; others are building their own programmes, but the intention everywhere is the same: we want people to feel good, stay healthy and develop themselves in ways that matter to them. Employees can join training courses that strengthen both personal and professional skills, participate in development programmes or follow individual training paths tailored to their goals. Our people make the difference, and we want to give them the tools to flourish.
Spending time together is an important part of who we are. From company outings and team gatherings to Friday afternoon drinks and quarterly updates, these moments keep us connected and engaged with the direction of the company. They strengthen our relationships and remind us that we’re working towards a shared purpose. (Figure 1)
Committed collaboration with our suppliers
Our responsibility does not end with our own team. We also care about the wellbeing of the people who work for our suppliers. For more than 25 years, we have worked closely with Confed, a sheltered workshop that provides opportunities for people with limited access to the labour market. (Figure 2) More than 100 people at Confed contribute to Quooker products, and we are proud of our long-standing collaboration. In addition, we developed the Quooker Way of Working , a document that outlines our expectations for responsible, respectful and sustainable behaviour throughout our supply chain. Our goal is to grow responsibly together and make a positive impact.
Employee satisfaction survey
To understand whether these efforts are creating the workplace we strive for, we regularly ask colleagues for feedback. This year, we conducted our first international employee satisfaction survey, which provided valuable insights into how people experience working at Quooker. Wherever we identify opportunities for improvement, we take action, because we want Quooker to remain a place where people feel at home, supported and able to grow, regardless of where they work. We will continue to conduct our annual employee satisfaction survey to monitor employee experience over time and identify areas for improvement. We are proud of our current Net Promoter Score of 33 , which reflects how likely employees are to recommend Quooker as an employer, and we aim to increase this score to 40 by 2030.
In the coming year, we will place particular emphasis on expanding career development opportunities and strengthening our leadership programme , as these areas scored slightly lower in the recent survey. By focusing on these topics directly, we aim to further support growth, confidence and long-term development for all our colleagues.
Quooker Worldwide Day
To celebrate and reinforce our global connection, we will host the second Quooker Worldwide Day next year. On this special occasion, colleagues from all our international offices will come together at our headquarters in the Netherlands. It’s a chance to connect, share experiences, and take part in a programme filled with inspiring and celebratory activities.
Moments like these deepen our sense of unity and belonging, reminding us that wherever we are in the world, we are part of one Quooker team.

Creating a positive impact on people and planet is something we can only achieve together. It is not only carried by our sustainability team, but by everyone across the organisation, from production and logistics to R&D, sales and service. Our management team supports this by ensuring that sustainable choices are part of our daily work and long-term decisions.
With a clear focus on the future, we continue to build a company that takes its responsibility seriously and keeps looking for ways to improve.
Thank you for reading this report. We look forward to building a more sustainable Quooker together, step by step.
