Social Work with Older Adults explores the unique needs, challenges, and strengths of aging populations within diverse social, cultural, and policy contexts. The course covers theories of aging, common physical and mental health conditions, and the impact of social determinants on older adults well-being. Students will learn about assessment tools, intervention strategies, and service delivery models that promote dignity, autonomy, and quality of life for older adults. Emphasis is placed on ethical practice, advocacy, and interdisciplinary collaboration, preparing students to work effectively in various settings such as healthcare, community organizations, and long-term care facilities.
