This course explores the fundamental structures that organize human societies, known as social institutions, including family, education, religion, economy, and government. Students will examine how these institutions develop, their roles in shaping individual behaviors and group dynamics, and the ways they interact and change over time. Emphasis will be placed on both classical and contemporary sociological theories, as well as case studies that illustrate the influence of social institutions on issues such as inequality, social order, and cultural norms. Through analysis and discussion, students will gain a deeper understanding of the complex relationships that underpin everyday social life.
