This course introduces students to the principles and practices of designing and analyzing research in the social sciences and related fields. Emphasis is placed on understanding various research methodologies, including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods approaches. Students will explore topics such as hypothesis formulation, sampling techniques, data collection methods, measurement validity and reliability, and strategies for minimizing bias. The course also covers basic statistical analysis and interpretation, preparing students to critically evaluate published research and design scientifically sound studies. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the skills to develop their own research proposals and analyze data using appropriate techniques.
