Course Introduction
Psychology of Aging explores the psychological processes and changes that occur as individuals grow older. The course examines key topics such as cognitive development, memory, learning, emotion, personality, social relationships, and mental health in late adulthood. Students will analyze both normative aging processes and atypical changes, such as those associated with neurocognitive disorders. Emphasis is placed on the role of cultural, social, and biological factors in influencing the aging experience, as well as current research methodologies and real-world applications in supporting successful and healthy aging.
