Course Introduction
This course explores the principles and practices of nursing care for women during the prenatal (before birth) and postnatal (after birth) periods. Students will learn to assess maternal and fetal health, provide education on pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care, and address common complications during pregnancy and the postpartum phase. Emphasis is placed on holistic care approaches, including physical, emotional, and educational support for mothers and families, as well as the identification and management of at-risk pregnancies and newborns. The course prepares nursing students to promote maternal and neonatal well-being through evidence-based interventions and interdisciplinary collaboration.
