Course Introduction
Pediatric Nursing focuses on the specialized care of infants, children, and adolescents within a variety of healthcare settings. This course introduces students to growth and development principles, common pediatric diseases and conditions, and age-specific nursing interventions. Emphasis is placed on family-centered care, communication with children and their families, and the emotional and physical needs of young patients. Students will learn to assess pediatric clients, administer medications and treatments appropriately for age and size, and provide education and support to both patients and families while promoting health and wellness during childhood.
