Pathophysiology is the study of the physiological processes and mechanisms that lead to the development and progression of disease within the human body. This course explores the functional changes associated with various illnesses, focusing on how disruptions in normal biological systems contribute to the symptoms and signs of disease. Students will learn to apply foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry to critically analyze the cause, development, and effects of common disorders affecting different organ systems. Emphasis is placed on understanding the pathogenesis of diseases, the bodys compensatory mechanisms, and the implications for diagnosis and treatment.
