Paramedic Cardiology is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the cardiovascular system as it pertains to pre-hospital emergency care. The course covers the anatomy and physiology of the heart, recognition and interpretation of cardiac rhythms, and the assessment and management of patients experiencing cardiac emergencies such as myocardial infarction, heart failure, and arrhythmias. Emphasis is placed on advanced electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation, pharmacology for cardiac conditions, and the application of evidence-based interventions including defibrillation, cardioversion, and medication administration. Through a combination of didactic learning and practical scenarios, students will develop the critical thinking and technical skills necessary to effectively manage cardiac emergencies in the field.
