Oral Biology is the scientific study of the structure, function, development, and pathology of the tissues and organs of the oral cavity. This course explores the cellular and molecular processes underlying oral health and disease, including topics such as tooth development, oral microbiology, salivary gland function, craniofacial growth, and the biology of oral hard and soft tissues. Students will gain a foundational understanding of how oral tissues interact with systemic health, the mechanisms of common oral diseases, and the biological principles that guide prevention and treatment in dental practice.
